Hi,
does anyone has an idea to block GPRS or UMTS connections in the registry.
So they only can sync with their PC with Activesync. No online Sync.
At the first start with the device, with a SIM Card the Provider sends Connection Entrys. So it doesnt work for me to delete the Connection Entrys.
Can anyone help me ?
Thanks bye
I don't know how to do this in registry but search for the tool "NoData". This should do the job!

I have a new (to me) xda 1 which I have been setting up and have a bit of a problem... I have configured it to connect to the internet via GPRS but I can't seem to get it to connect via my PC.... The books I got with it are (of course) O2 books and make no reference to creating your own settings... the reason for the connection is that I have unresolved items after active sync and I am sure it is because they need to be refreshed via the internet....
Anyone have the settings or any ideas?
Cheers, Forgedsteel
R u on payg? I know O2 dont allow payg customers access thru gprs other providers may be the same. Contact ur network Customer helpline they should be able to give u the settings if available.
in the connection settings you have to deside which settings it's using when you have it connected to sync
that should be my homenetowrk or something
and to access the network you need to make sure activesync on the pc is set to alow that
and some firewall on the pc is not set to block it

Rudegar, you're absolutely right... I was fiddling with the settings on the XDA and never thought (not being in the book) to check the activesync settings and there it was... set to something else other than internet... it's doing what it should now.
Many thanks for clearing up thar headache
Hello community:
I need your help on this.
every time i accidentally click the weather icon on my HTC Today, or open opera mistakenly, or any other software wants internet access, WM6 automatically connects 3G without asking, which is killing my phone credit.
Is there a way for it to always ask before making a connection to internet? Or to limit internet connection to WIFI only?
thanks for any help.
settings->connections->connections->advanced->select networks
there are some texts showing "programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using"
and a dropdownbox
select the dropdownbox item which is not called something like "my isp"
but pick the one thats called something like "my network"
then all programs trying to access the internet will be forced to use activesync as internet connection and if activesync is not connected they will fail!

sk-Tools Lite has an option to disable the GPRS AutoConnect. Or you might do a search in your Registry for the key and set it to '0'....

HI
I have seemingly lost my internet connection on my Touch Cruise. It worked fine at first but now when I try to connect to any web page, I get the message "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again". It works fine when connected via Activesync and WiFi.
I have tried deleting programs, hard reset and re-installing programs one-by-one to see if any of them have caused the problem, but haven't got anywhere. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Bob
So it works when connected to the PC, and over WIFI but not over 3G?

Hi
Yes, works with WiFi and when Activesync connection, but no GPRS or GPS. I have tried hard reset and obtaining settings automatically from T-mobile, but this doesn't work. T-mobile have given me generic settings for PDA phones, but can't help me with my Polaris. They suggested I contact HTC.

THANK YOU!
i have been looking for an option to NOT allow applications to just connect to the internet randomly
Hello together,
A colleague phoned me some minutes ago that he has some trouble with his Windows Mobile phone: he cannot run an application that requires GPRS data connection because he is currently using roaming mode (other country). He thinks there might be a dialog box where he needs to confirm that he wants to allow GPRS connection because it costs more money due to roaming mode, and that there should be a registry entry where he can disable that dialog box so that GPRS connection is established without manual confirmation. That's why I'm now looking for such a registry entry.
Does anyone know what registry entry this could be?
Thanks for any help.
Hi!
I tried windows messenger on my TD2, and it configures automatically my Hotmail letterbox in the "mails" TAB. It was syncronised.
Now, when i try send/receive messages from Hotmail, its try to connect via GPRS, even if Wi-Fi is on. My other mailboxes (yahoo and my company mails) working well over wi-fi, but hotmail doesn't.
Where can i configure that windows live use the wi-fi, not the GPRS ???
Can anybody help me?
PS: Sorry for my english
THANKS
I had a problem with WLM. Was unable to login. After turning to the stock rom, the issue was solved.
to prevent data conections via gprs or what so ever you can use NoData from ( i think ) modaco? There you can disable all data conections and they will not accidently turn on
