is it me or did the keyboard and touch screen work better with the 8525?
sometimes, i have to tap a couple times on the same spot to get it to work with the tilt.
and sometimes the keyboard skips a few letters when i'm typing.
It's both ^^. I had the same problem, when changing from a Wizard to the Kaiser. But i am getting used to the "Pressure Point" and the problems are getting less with skipped characters.
It's like getting used to a cupler of a new car. ^^
i had the same problem, I liked the 8525 better... only thing I kept the Kaiser is the built-in GPS, I didn't like the idea of carrying GPS device with me all the time when I had the 8525
8125 - 8525 - Tilt
Had all three like the tilt the best. Gps, style, etc... very slick looking ppc, best overall in my opinion. Also you have to remember the kaiser is still somewhat new still. Once the chefs really figure everything out I believe it will be even better. Just my .02.
it seems that different roms also give different sensitivities somehow too, but i never noticed it skipping the keyboard characters
The keyboard in the Kaiser feels cramped and I usually catch myself pressing the wrong key! Yeah, Hermes keyboard definitely felt better - to me at least!
cool. thanks. nice to know i didnt get a broken phone. i like this phone better than the 8525 except for the no light and the screen facing the other way when sliding the keyboard.
When just considering the actual typing comparison, the 8525 keyboard for me was miles ahead of the tilt's in my opinion. The buttons are difficult to differentiate to me. I too experience skipped keys and also, my space key has serious lag. If I want to type "I am on my way" If I am not careful what will be put out is "Ia mo nm yw ay" as you can imagine this is VERY annoying...but I did notice that on Custel's AT&T rom's v2.1 this very rarely happened. So who knows, I dont have any issues with the screen. Besides the keyboard, I can't complain on anything else phone related.
Screen Sensitivity !
to increase the screen sensitivity of your Kaiser / HTC TytnII / AT&T Tilt (8925), go to RegEdit and do the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Drivers>TouchPanel>PressureThre shold
modify to 210 or more (modify the DWORD Data field).
Enjoy a more sensitive touch pad.
Re-aligning your screen also adjusts the sensitivity Start->System->Screen. That is a better way to adjust the sensitivity than editing registry...
The missing letters issue can be improved from Start->Personal->Buttons->Up/Down control.
Set them faster…
if the 8525 had the same built in memory and ram and built in gps.. it'd be my dream ppc

yeah the keyboard on the hermes is much better! Real buttons! On the tytn 2 the buttons are strange...!
I have the same opinion about the keyboard. I like the keyboard of the 8525 better than the Tilt. I don't know why but for some reason when i would use the keyboard on the 8525 i could just keep typing and then the unit would catch up to me. When i type on the tilt i have to watch it to make sure it is typing everything i put in.
As for the screen i haven't had an problems yet.
But i will say if it were up to me i would still choose the tilt over the 8525. the batt life is better, th egps, the speed, the storage, etc. etc. etc.
8525 to Tilt
8525 had better keyboard hands down. I do like the feature on the tilt's keyboard though that when u have cap shift/fn enabled a light is on so you know instead of having to look on the screen on the 8525 to see whats goin on. i love how when u slide the tilt open and close it almost slides on its own. The tilt feels more stable, the 8525 felt cheap like if i dropped it once its all over. Love the rubber back on the tilt and gps. With roms at 32 mgpp running on the tilt compared to an 8525 that can barely handle 6mgpp, its gonna be limitless when the chefs get the tilt dialed in and looks like Dutty is doin that as we speak. Tilt has some getting used to but much better than 8525 overall, especailly when its free, haha!!!
best feature so far on the Tilt, it's heavy & has steel. Great weapon for self defend sometimes.
the keyboard on mine doesnt seem responsive like the hermes.
I agree on the typing issue. I think it has something to do with their texture. I also miss spaces and double type letters and hit the ones next to the one i mean. On my 8525 my fingers just glided along the keyboard.
As for the way the screen opens, I don't mind it, i just liked on the 8525 how i could reach the stylus with my right pointer finger.

yes, i hate that i can't use my right pointer finger anymore. it's very annoying but i guess i'll get used to it.
I agree about the keyboard. I thought perhaps I had a defective one, but it is behaving the same as yours.
I went from a Tytn to a Tilt and I have to say that the Tilt is heads and shoulders above the Tytn design.
The Tytn felt plastic-y and cheap in the hand. Moving parts felt creaky and overall build quality was poor.
I'm not sure if the 8525 suffered from these issues but from the looks of it the Kaiser design was taken from the 8525 versus the Tytn.
The Kaiser/Tilt D-pad cluster is clearly descended from the sculpted 8525 design rather than the flat (and almost unusable) Tytn version.
Things better on the Kaiser (other than the obvious things like GPS and tilt screen):
-keyboard sliding mechanism (springs closed if you accidentally open it but keeps open if you actually intended to open it)
-build quality
-
while heavier, it has a much better feel in the hand probably helped by the rubberised backplate.
-a few mm thinner seems to make all the difference with the pocketability of the device.
-single piece stylus. Every telescoping stylus I've used has fallen apart or eventually stopped working the way it was supposed to (Toshiba e800 had one as well -- ugh).
-better access to SIM card.
-one form factor for all carriers and regions. The two case designs (Herm 100 vs 200) created a huge problem with case makers assuming the Tytn and the 8525 were exactly the same. A Tilt case will work on a Kaiser and vice versa.
Things better on the Hermes:
-has LED flash (sorely missing on the Kaiser)
-has IRDA port
-better placement of softkey buttons (both on the front cluster and on the keyboard)
-soft reset switch is FAR more responsive on the Hermes, and it's not placed near the mini USB port. The Kaiser has them too close together and it's very easy to jam the stylus into the port and damage it.
-better position for the card slot, and it never needed a door. The impossible-to-open-without-tweezers door on the Kaiser slot is the one flaw in a nearly perfect case design.
-better hard button feel. The Kaiser power button took me a long time to get used to as it sits too flush with the case. Kaiser buttons don't have a tactile click when you push them. Also the Hermes has one extra button over the Kaiser (the Comm manager button).
Where the Kaiser and the Hermes both fail:
-Stylus silo on the BOTTOM. UGH UGH UGH Once that silo gets worked in you will be losing stylii like no tomorrow. The Kaisier silo seems a little better, but it's still a potential lost stylus if you aren't careful.

Hi:
Is there a maximum value this can be set at, and if so, what is it?
Thanks!
I notice on certain ROMS there is a delay when you slide out the Tilt to access your keyboard. The screen shifts 2 1/2 seconds after the keyboard is exposed. Dutty's & HyperDragons ROMS are probably the best I know of for the quickest response as far as the Screen shifting. Does anyone on here know what folder this command is in so we can tweak it out? Throw in your five cents.. yours is worth more than my two thanks much
Hmm...
Welcome to the wonderful world of KAISER problems!
I agree in your inquiry... the long lost answer.
However, my thinking is that if there was a solution, it would have been discovered by now via a new update or whatnot.
meh.
Hey guys! this is my first time posting on this forum and i need some advice from yall. i just got the new att samsung epix yesterday. im pretty sure this is the US version of the samsung i780. im really enjoying thus phone. but i just found out that the touch pro is coming to att in a few days and it looks like a really good phone. my question is should i stick with this phone or will i be happier with the touchpro? it will cost me $100 more to get the fuze but is it worth it?
-Alex
P.S. - i typed this on my epix
It is definately worth it to switch.
Following reasons:
G-sensor
Light Sensor
Capactive buttons
Cooler looking
Tv-Out
Disadvantages:
Bigger? lol
Less battery =/ I think the Epix has a bigger battery
The keyboard is slide out (that's personal opinion)
and do I know you? Someone told me they got a epix yesterday lol
Kraize
I think i`ll buy me a TP (or x1). I just want to know if you are happy with your TP.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have a touch pro. Just recently went to a store to handle a epix but got to fondle with a fuze too . Here is the breakdown
Touch Pro (Fuze):
Video Out
G-sensor
Light sensor
TF3D
Smaller battery
$100 more
Epix:
Just US version of the i780
Not all apps are compatible with the screen resolution.
Big battery
No g-sensor or light sensor? (I may be mistaken about the light sensor)
X1:
Almost same as touch pro except the following:
No video out, g-sensor, or tf3D
Sony Panels
Embedded screen (BLAH! I hate this on my tilt as well. So it totally turned me off from the x1)
Basically, if the Epix had a g-sensor and could fully run tf3d, it would so win. I like the touch pro though. For the sole reason that the screen is embedded in the x1, I would not get it. It totally ticks me off. On my tilt, I can barely click the things in the corner cause the screen is embedded. So it's a no no for me.
Thanks for that info! Looks like umma take this epix back. Don't get me wrong it's a great device but for 100 dollars more I can get so much more with the fuze. And I don't think I know you
wassup fellas. i got a question i have a tmobile wing that i banged up pretty bad and i managed to buy the housings and rebuilt it so it looks decent. now that i finish that when i slide to use the keyboard the screen doesnt shift as if u were textin or surfin the web. instead it stays on that normal main menu screen. anybody with the same problem and/or have any idea to fix this? i appreciate any input TIA
Hey everyone. I just got my Samsung Intrepid yesterday and I've been trying to get M2D to work ever since I had it in my hands. It's gotten better though, I currently have the herg62123_2DManila_1_20_19131530_00 release on the phone, and a bunch of other add ons. The phone is still snappy with the Manila interface that I have on it right now, but the damn thing cuts off about 3/4 from the right side of the screen, its really aggravating. Is there anyway to make the interface stretch to the whole screen? Any help is appreciated!
