Hey guys,
is it possible to run the messenger without having it save all of my msn contacts to my phone's contacts?? It gets really annoying having all those entries.

well that sucks.... can they at least be integrated with my current contacts, meaning if I have someone's phone number, the IM profile is assigned to that contact instead of having duplicates?

I would be grateful for the thing to actually work. Since my network provider upgraded their internet offering to include their version of msn (going through their servers), it now blocks any other client trying to access the service. Skype works though.
EDIT: Got it to work - grabbed my wife's new O2 SIM and was able to set up WLM and log in. Then I placed my 3 SIM in and it now works

Yahoo! Mobile Messenger

I cannot find the cab file or installer for YMM. I searched for a few weeks now and everything points to AT&Ts page via the phone. I don't have AT&T and when I go to Yahoo it's just a page with no download. Only web based YM when clicked the link and Yahoo Go suck.... can anyone help?

I don't know of single app for yahoo messenger at least by yahoo anyway. I personally use Slick. Its currently in testing so its free and I have been using version .42 for some time now and havent had a single problem. You can download it at www.lonelycatgames.com

I have T-Mobile and it works the same I have the T-mobile brand also but its the same thing it just says T-Mobile instead of At&t for the header but the same program. Let me know if you have any questions...

What about battery consumption of these programs? I tryed fring and it kills my battery in a couple of hours (over 3G). Do you have any comparations?

niiiice... ive been looking for this. too bad it doesnt work over wifi. i think fring does tho.

why don't you just use Palringo, you can simply install it from Device Update

thanks guys, I have parlingo on my Wizard G3 ROM already, but slick looks nice!

lil76, did you actually get it to work on WM65? I just installed yesterday, and while icon is there, launching it doesn't do anything. Doesn't freeze up, just does... nothing. Using a Dash rommed with Mobile 6.5.
Using Palringo in the meantime, but I truly loved that app for Yahoo/Live Messenger/AIM.

Best MSN messenger app...

Anybody got some input on this? I am currently using Hi MSN and it keeps showing me offline to my contacts but it works fine on my end. I have tried MSN droid, ebuddy with no success. They all have some weird issue. So wondering what others are using.

i just use IM.apk. i think it's from the g1, modded to work on other carriers and/or phones. it's not amazing, but it's free and works decently with aim and msn for me (also does yahoo). i got it from xda, can't find the apk on here right now, but here's the one i have http :// goo . gl / Jcuz (can't post links)

I'm using "Messenger" from the Market.. it's like a full rip of Windows Live Messenger. The UI is rather clunky and clumsy, but the functionality is all there. Do get random drop outs though.

Sometimes it's an error on Microsoft's server side that's causing you to appear offline to others. I even have this problem come up on my computer's Windows Live Messenger.
Usually you just wait a day and log in again and your problem is gone.
As for IM app, I'm using Ebuddy. No problems so far.

I'm not using it anymore sorry. And I tried looking for the apk myself and couldn't find it in my phone. Looks like they took it off market cos it probably infringed copyrights (a lot of the graphics of the app were ripped straight from the Windows Live Messenger app on pc)
EDIT: in saying so, I'm back to eBuddy. Also, give MSN Talk a try.

I use Nimbuzz. Works fine for my MSN and Facebook chat

I highly suggest you try out Meebo, if you create an account it runs many clients at the same time (like, Messenger, AIM, Facebook, etc.) and it keeps chat logs.

Msn droid works great for me...

Windows Live Messenger ?

Has anyone got a .cab file for the version suitable for TG01 ?
I got the SMS message from Microsoft and followed the link but the version itt links to says "Standard (Non Touch)".
I downloaded it anyway but then it wont install as it says its the incorrect version !
I only want Messenger - not bothered about any of the other Windows Live stuff...!

if you go onto the marketplace you can either download windows live messenger straight from there for free or the other app i would recommend would be E-buddy

I want to install a programm on my HTC diamond 2, which I call to phone numbers. I found skype, but it wrote me: "Sorry, Skype is unavailable for your mobile". Can you help me? Do you know another better programm?

Switch your firewall off, connect and then switch your firewall back on and it should be ok thereafter...
