I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. If you go to contacts, and start typing a name to search for with the full qwerty virtual keyboard, anytime you type a name with an R in it, it will randomly call someone with an R in their name. It happens only when you hit the R key and only in that keyboard mode. It happens on my phone which I've had for about a month, and it happens on all my friends touch pros as well. Anyone else having this problem?
I tried this with contacts that R in first name or last name, but everything is working fine. At no moment the phones starts to dial a random number. Very strange behavior...

hi friends of the net,
help pleeeease.
when i go into go into calendar i get numbers come up and not letters when the key pad is closed, if i open phone to type on key padi can get the letters, if any numbers have been entered already the numbers do not delete and i have to press the home key and then go back to it again before it lets me write anything, this also happens in internet explorer! after this has happened if i try to access contacts via home page or via menus it does not let me access them.
also my i bar/cursor vanishis sometimes when i am in text messaging.
tried factory reset and it still happens, also had a new phome sent out and the new one does the same!!!! assume its software fault on many phones.
Can you vox owners try these out...
This is regarding my friends phone, member - Wezog. Ive taken a look at the phone and im just wondering if any of you guys out there have these problems?
1 - Make sure your phone is closed (qwerty keyboard is hidden away), using the right soft key or by going into the start menu select the calendar application.
Once in here start typing an appointment, do you find that you have numbers appearing instead of letters?
Its as tho you cannot type any appointments using the keypad, but you have to open up the e650 and use the qwerty keyboard to enter information.
Do you HTC owners get the same problem or is it just the Orange e650 owners, or is it just my friend being unlucky? (being his 2nd phone to do exactly the same thing - hes let orange know about this but apparently has to decide what he wants to do)
2 - Once youve tried the Calendar above, exit out of it and then try and select CONTACTS as tho you were going to call someone either by using the left soft key or by actually going into Contacts in the start menu.
Do you find that Contacts dont display and nothing comes up? My mate has to then soft reset his phone to get things back to normal again.
Thanks in advance for your help, its very appreciated.
Cheers
Could someone try the steps below and post here...please
Would appreciate you guys following the steps below and letting me know if you get the problem, or not. Cheers.

Frankly - actions like creating an appointment is why I chose a phone with a QWERTY keyboard after all
But for the sake of your test I tried to create an appointment on my closed Vox and it worked.
Pressing a pad key repeatedly scrolls through its lowercase letters + the number, starting with the first letter. The *-key switches between lowercase and uppercase.
Contacts open and work normally after closing the Calendar.
I have an unbranded HTC S710 with the original ROM.
The behaviour you describe is definitely weird. And it happens also after a "Clear Storage" / Hard Reset ?
first of all happy holidays and new year to every body
my problem here is that when ever i press the 8 button on dial pad or the keyboard is mapping M,N,O besides T,U,V on the smart dial i have search everywhere but no been able to find anything.
for example if i want to find some one on my contacts called Valle i will type 8 for V, 2 for A 5 two times for LL, and 3 for E. but when I type the first number which is the 8 the phone shows me all my contacts that start with the letters N,M,O as I was pressing the 6.
PD: every other number is working all right
i think is probably a registry issue but not sure
I've noticed a funny bug in Touch Pro official ROM.
When I open hardware keyboard and start calendar, switch it to "Day" view, choose right time and just start typing, firs letter appears twice. If I open "New appointment", or hit enter on selcted time, there's no problem.
Anyone noticed same thing?
Anyone knows a cure?
I can't even call it a problem, but just funny thing...
Yup, same problem here, I noticed it last week when I first started putting in some appointments...
I guess it is a bug, not a major one, more of an inconvienience... Hopefully HTC will fix this when they release a new ROM update...
I wonder if Diamond users have the same bug??
Diamond has no hardware keyboard!!!
Weird, mine is doing something pretty odd too but different to yours. Here's what happens to me:
1. Open keyboard, the 8 icons appear.
2. Hit calendar and the calendar opens in the "timeline" view (not sure what it's called).
3. Hit day to get the one hour slots listed vertically.
4. Select a time or a range (ie multiple slots).
5. Start typing and then hit enter (I assume you have to hit enter to commit your entry).
After I hit enter at step 5 I get the usual looking "New Appointment" type window BUT with only the first character of the word/string I typed in before I hit enter. You can either cancel or ok this (it makes not difference to the bug, but obviously it will cancel or commit the appointment depending on what you do). Then another New Appointment window appears, now with the 2nd character of the string I typed in. Cancel or ok this, then another New Appointment window appears, with the 3rd character of the string I entered. So on and so forth until all the characters have been used up. For example if I tried to enter "Doctor", I would see a New Appointment window for each of the letters D, o, c, t, o and r.
WTF
Hi All,
I have looked all over for weeks and still can not seem to find how to do extra digits on the HTC Fuze. On my Treo 800w I had an extra digits button, but I can't seem to find the equivalent in either the HTC or the WM dialer.
As an example, if I have a contact with the phone number 6025321234w1234234#p1232#
On the Treo 800w, after the call was placed an "Extra Digits" button would appear. If clicked on it then everything after the w would be dialed.
On the fuze I am not getting this button and don't see anyway to do it. Could someone let me know what I am missing?
Thanks,
d
Use , for pause use either w or p for wait (I think its w) and press send during a dial to send next set of numbers. Works on my Touch Pro
Ah, that was it pressing Send. Never would have guessed that in a million years and there is no hint in the dialer that it even knows the extra digits were there.
Thanks!
d
when i use the calculator and you dont touch exactly the number, the screen zooms and you cannot continue. The same happens when input the pin at the start up.
it only happens with numbers. it seems a delay on the touch?
Does anyone haw the same problem?
I don't have that problem but wanted to suggest Hiper Calc Pro. Bought it years ago and still love it. A real calculator for people who occasionally need the "square" key and others beyond the basics. The look reminds me of my old HP15C.
