So far my Fuze is amazing, I love it but Im having issues with it and I want to know what I can do to fix these issues.
1) I can't get my phone to go into Vibrate only... I will select it from the list but it just makes the phone silent!
2) My ringtone stops working as in if I call my phone, it only vibrates but my ringtone does not play. Sometimes it does, but lately it doesn't at all and I've checked my settings tons & tons of times. My notification sounds all play perfectly fine.
3) Backlight. If I turn off the backlight sensor/auto management of the backlight and keep the brightness fully cranked or at any setting, once I turn the screen off and turn it back on (just pressing the power button), my screen stays dim unless I go into Power and just tap where my brightness setting is!
Also, is there anyway to for example if Im reading a text message in Portrait mode and I slide open my keyboard to reply to just switch the orientation instead of having to open the message up again?
Thanks
I forgot to mention, Im using RRE's ROM. Im coming from a Samsung Jack so I know how to change things, etc. in Windows Mobile.

Which RRE ROM version are you using? 4.4.5 SE ?
I believe its the one before 4.4.5
How can I check? I didn't flash it myself, the seller I bough it from flashed it for me before he sent it out.

I have flashed every RRE version that Arup has released and have not once had any of the issues you have noted except the time I had a bad flash. My suggestion to you is to read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008 and fallow the directions completely and flash the newest version of RRE. I would however go ahead and flash the original official AT&T ROM first just to make sure you don't have any bad blocks. good luck and if you need any help send me a PM.
I was thinking of flashing to the newwest RRE ROM anyways, so I will give it a shot and see if that solves my issues.
Where can I find the original AT&T ROM? Im not on AT&T, Im on Fido in Canada (I know that wouldn't matter, just mentioning)

I thought you were on AT&T. You might want to check your radio version before flashing the AT&T's official ROM. official shipped ROMs usually contain a radio also. if your buddy flashed a different radio onto the device you will lose that radio version and be left with the AT&T stock radio. your radio version should match the one in my signature if it's the stock AT&T radio.
Whats the best/easiest way to check what radio version I have? Also whats the difference in having different radios?
Thanks for all your help!

The radio is what is responsible for your signal. different radios will have different signal strength. To see what radio version you have go to start\settings\system\Device Information
My radio version is 1.10.OliNex.
Does that sound right? Which Radio do you reccomend? Im just at work right now and Im gonna flash it when I get home.

I would probably try and keep the radio version you have on the device currently. I can't really suggest one for you. You have to take a look at the radios listed in the touch pro wiki for your country and test them all out to see which on works best in your area. If you get a good signal and good data transfers using your current radio I would just stick with that one for a while.
Sounds good. Thanks! I will let you know how the flash goes and if that fixes my issues.

And i wonder which one should i use...
I currently have 2.19.21
If you do tell me, can you also tell me the pros and cons, such as battery life, and signal strength, as i've read somewhere that the 69 one burns battery
Anyone out there?
No one is out there.. They're all in the WM6 forum flashing new roms.. =)
I've been on this forum for only 6 months and I've seen a lot of new radio roms introduced and I've *never ever* seen a list fixes that the new radio rom has. Usually all the radio roms are stolen from other official device roms (namely Wizard) since wizard and prophet have similar hardware.
So take your pick. There's a lot of anecdotal evidence that says XXX rom causes more battery usage, and YYY rom fixes bluetooth, etc etc...
Best thing for you to do is to just upgrade to the latest one (2.69.21) and see if you run into any "phone" related bugs. When you do, Start downgrading backwards one at a time until you're back to 2.19.21.. =) cause that's essentially what I did.. =)
OK thanks, but I still want to know which is which...
radio roms
ok, for me, here in my country, where my service provider uses 1800 mhz gsm band, i noticed that v2.69 drained my batt.
downgraded to v2.47 (the one provided with the qtek upgrade to 2.2) and it's working very good. and great signal strenght.
it also recognizes the provider's name. that v2.69 did not.
edit:before, the bluetooth didn't work well(file transfers). now it is. but not sure if it is for v2.47, can't confirm.
after downgrade the radio rom to any version, phone will restart.. do i still have to do hard reset?

K. Thanks all. So it seems i should use the .47 for now.
after trying all the rom.. only 2.69 seem ok for my prophet.. but if i go indoor, no network! what should be the problem? when outdoor, only got 2 / 3 bar.. then drop to 1 bar.

Hi all
Upgraded to WM6 on my O2 XDA IQ. No problems with install all went great. SInce then though a few people have sent texts that I have not got. It seems to work some of the time. It isn't a particular network or person as I get some from one person then another day I don't get them.
Plus it keeps making the dinging noise (the one it makes on boot up) all by itself. It plays randomly at different intervals, 10 times in a minute some times and then it can go for hours without playing. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!
It generates this sound at boot up proces when there is a connection problem of wi-fi module. I solved it by changing in the wlan-ip manager th device
Weird. I mean not getting messages shouldn't be a problem in the phone, right? If you get one, you should be getting them all...

That is what i thought, so I rang O2 and they said must be a phone problem which to be honest i thought that was total BS!
Got rid of the dinging noise thanks to makler1981. The wifi was turning itself on when the phone was switched on. Still not sure why it turns itself on but i now know how to stop the bloody noise!
Cheers!

I had problems with delayed SMS after a WM6 upgrade as well. More so the ones I sent weren't arriving until hours later, or sometimes not at all.
I do wonder if this maybe was a radio problem, as there are different versions of the radio ROM. See if yours is the most recent (ending in .14 I think).

ISSUES:
Internet waaaaaaaay too slow. Never had a problem before.
The 3G (square box) is present and 3g over signal.
Signal- I average 2 to 3 bars TOPS
prior it used to be full
Can someone suggest anything?! Downloading Cab files is slow and or it freezes. My Youtubeplayer.cab doesn't even work anymore because of this problem.
Also...prior to using the Rom..my phone hates the Hollywood/ Beverly Hills area which is my second home.

1st put on some flame retardant, 2nd you should try duttys thread, not start a new one, how long have you been running this rom, did you hard reset after the first flash, have you tried to reflash, have you tried a different radio, radios make a huge difference base on location, many radio threads out there, and last if it has to many bugs try another rom, i have used this rom and i love it.

He wasn't being rude, you should post this in the thread for dutty's rom. My guess normally would be that you don't have 3G turned on, rather than a radio or a rom issue, as i remember several of dutty's roms do not have 3g enabled by default. bit apparently you're getting a 3G signal. Have you tried other roms to be sure it's somethign rom specific and not your network? In the future post your questions in the appropriate thread to TRY to reduce the clutter in the forum. Also, it is the xda policy, so there's another reason to do it.

Well it mostly depends on what rom your using, what radio your currently using and if you are happy with your data speeds....
Yes it is possible to brick your phone....but if you follow instructions and always make sure you md5 checksum matches up....most people dont have any problems.
Well I'm using the RCmix kingdom rom....and I would like to try another radio. But a couple posts said that flashing a radio didn't really do much for a phone...what should I look for when trying to pick a radio?

From what I've read...most rom developers usually have a specific radio they suggest to use with there rom.
And if not, it's usually safest to stick with the stock radio's. I've had the best luck with the most recent radio released by AT&T....26.06.06.30_M
Personally from my experience, I've had nothing but kinda meh luck with radios and data speed since I rooted my phone. I've gone from 2mbps download and 1.5mbps uploads to around 1mbps downloads and 100kbps uploads, at best. I've tried a handful of radios and roms both, and so far stock is showing me the best results...But that's just my experiences. Maybe I'm one of the unlucky ones.

Rerun the hack kit on the rom your using but when it get's to step 3, have the radio image you want to use in the folder of the hack kit and let it push that to the phone.
This will fix your wireless data speeds.

Just out of curiousity, what do the RIL even do?
For my problem, I've flashed the RIL, kernel, ROM, Radio, re-flashed the kit, kept the stock, flashed a dozen different radios with their RIL's and still...Nothing. Just stating my (bad) experience with Rooting, ROM's, and Radios. Kinda wish I could go back to how it was pre-rooting and get my 2mbps down/1.5mpbs up back, as well as having a stable connection back.
Your issue stems from the fact that your APN settings are fu*ked. Look up henrybravo's thread about apn settings in the dev section; it'll be on the 1st or 2nd page. If that doesn't clear your data speeds up, then post back here and I'll point you in the other direction. But, the APN trick worked great for me. I was *****ing about the exact same thing and everybody thought I was just too blazed or something because nobody paid attention until henrybravo figured out to change the access point names to the exact same entries as in the stock ROM. It works like a charm.

Talking about the MEdia.net and MMS settings that come with stock? I'm on stock now, and since rooting I've not been able to get my original stability and speed back. I dunno if the root kit I used screwed something up big-time or what, but I can't even listen to Pandora or Slacker anymore without having to unlock the phone screen, go into the app, wait a second, then it plays. Close screen. Rinse-repeat song by song. And it isn't like my phone is somewhere new; before rooting, for a few weeks before rooting, I'd listen to music for 8 hours every night or so there...After rooting, I can't.

Hello, I am hoping someone can set me straight on the flashing of modems/radios and what is the proper way to do it.
Do they have to be flashed during the rom flash and then never touched until the next rom flash or can they just be flashed any old time?
The reason I ask is because I was booting into CWM and flashing each Modem/Radio one at a time and testing them out. I narrowed it down to one that had the best call quality but after flashing back to it the quality was worse then it was the first time I had flashed that one. Is it possible for a modem to install differently the second time? I am not running any formatting or clearing anything.
Why would the same modem/radio give different call quality on different installs?? Should I only be installing the modems/radios at the beginning when I first flash the rom?
Would like to sort this out as my outgoing call quality is pretty bad. Tested my SIM card in my old Galaxy S on CM9 and it sounded a million times better. My Galaxy S2 LTE is on SKY ICS 4.2F6.
You can flash a new radio/kernel on your phone any time after you've flashed the rom (as roms usually flash a radio/kernal when you flash the base) and it should not have any adverse effects on your phone (unless the kernel/radio is buggy/bad for your phone).
As far as formatting/clearing, I habitually clear my cache whenever I update anything on my phone and I haven't had any issues with deteriorating call quality and the like.
That is strange. My outgoing call quality is so bad compared to my Galaxy S on CM9.
I just flashed my phone to CM9 RC2 and will see how that goes. Now I just have to wait for a friend to give me a hand testing call quality.
It's really strange how I had different results with the same radio but different installs.

I'm actually running CM9 RC2 as well and am having major issues with the radio that gets flashed with it (UCLF6) as I live in a test LTE area. The reception goes to 0 to full every 2 seconds and I never get any phone calls or missed calls when people call me.
CM9 RC2 seems to have an issue with the LTE toggle, Network Mode and "2G only" features. As soon as u turn it on, it auto switches back to the default LTE being on.
I did a little bit of research and found that I would need to flash a "RAT UNLOCKED" radio. My concern is the same as the OP in that I'm a little confused as to the proper method and steps to doing this. Any help is greatly appreciated. I think both me and the OP will benefit.
I've attached a screenshot of my about phone page.
Thanks!
I recall seeing those "RAT Unlocked" radios listed on Mohan's Embryo thread.
It can be seen here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754473
I have no idea if those radios can be used with CM9 or not but I'm thinking of trying the embryo ROM and seeing how my call quality goes.
My problem is nowhere near as severe as yours. I get decent signal and can receive calls fine. My outgoing audio just sounds horrible and garbled. Who knows, maybe my issues also has something to do with LTE.

That as almost correct. ROMs usually contain a kernel and the /system. They almost never contain a radio. That being said, yes, you can flash a new radio at any time. There are quite a number of radios for the Skyrocket because each ICS leak pretty much had a new one. You should have no issues flashing either a Rogers or AT&T radio on a Skyrocket. From what I've read and seen, different areas of the country do better on different radios. I would personally start with the radio from either the AT&T or Rogers official release and then work backwards from there.

okay that sounds promising. to flash a radio do you simply flash the zip over everything on CWM? do u need to clear or format anything? once you flash do you need to change any APN settings or anything? sorry if these questions seem novice but i usually just use the stock radio. fist time doin this

HMM.. Any idea why I would be experiencing these problems then? Just seems strange that I installed the same radio twice and it had different results on each install. Do you think it could be a phone hardware issue?
Would it matter if my phone is a Rogers and I am running an AT&T radio? Maybe I should try the Rogers radios?
@Ompalompa287
From what I gather... Just flashing the zip in CWM is all you need to do. No settings to change or anything. I have heard of some people wiping cache as well.
I just simply need to know if there is anyway to disable 3g (force to edge) network? I have a at&t Skyrocket running cm9 Chopsticks.

So I just found out my phone has Noise Cancellation for the microphone. Maybe it's the noise cancellation mic that is causing the issues.
Does anyone know how I can disable the noise cancellation to test this theory?

since cwm does not wipe the radio, flash new radio two times, even three times just to make sure it completely overwrites the old one you are replacing
