I accidentally deleted a file and now any app or program I attempt to open says it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of it's files cannot be found. I would love to perform a hard reset but that file in the settings menu is gone.

Having you tried browsing your device with your PC and delete from there...also use something like phm task to see if there are any hidden tasks running related to it..also ensure your registry is cleared of it....If I were you I would make a HR my last resort....thats my 2 cents worth. GOOD LUCK.

appreciate the links but I guess I do not have enough knowledge to be able to translate that into a solution. I made no changes to the registry so I don't know why this happened all of a sudden. I did a search before for the title of my thread and all that came up was a bunch of stuff for internet explorer on the desktop, nothing helpful. Oh well.
I was stupid enough to delete Motoblur's files using Titanium and no I don't have backup 8\ . I've done another stupid thing - factory reset! And now I can't get through Motoblur's login screen, it's just stucking on "Logining..." message. Also I'm far away from US, so I can't go to AT&T.
Maybe someone here can help me with:
- a way to bypass motoblur login screen ?
- a way to access phone's file system from PC but without USB debugging set to "ON".
Any suggestions ? Please.....we do not have any sbf, or update coming any soon.
Sorry for posting in this forum
I'm afraid you can only flash an official bravo rom, if available, or send it back for repair.
Maybe someone can post an update.zip with all the motoblur files. You might want to make a list of the apps you deleted if you are able to.

Are you saying that there is no need to sign this "update.zip" so I can just take files from another "Bravo" pack them in "update.zip" file and flash it thru standard motorola's recovery menu ?
Or there is some tricky way making this "update.zip" ? If so please give me direction were to go and read about this process .
Thanks
Hello all,
I have a7272 Chinese phone and I accidentally deleted Google Contacts. Since I cannot reinstall it, I have to flash a new ROM.
Although the members here are brilliant, and I could find a lot of information here, I've been sitting a day and a half trying to solve my problem.
I managed to install CWMR by following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1825722.html- worked perfect.
I tried to flash this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25575846&postcount=88 (I also need Hebrew in my phone), but I get error 16008 in SP Flash Tool, something about the partitions size.
Where can I find a suitable ROM for my phone?
I'm really frustrated :crying:.
Can someone help me please?
Wait isn't it just and android phone? How come you just don't find the APK file for Google Contacts?
Anyways with some research it seems that the partition tables are different in your phone or the recovery image isn't the right size. In the comments of the post Leonid says to do this "pressing the ::: (Format) * Auto Format Nand Flash -> Format whole flash except Bootloader and NVRAM Bin Region => OK
information is from here
http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2011/10/mt65x3-flashing-tutorial.html
and if that doesn't work go here http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2012/04/creating-rom-dump-of-your-mt65x3-device.html
Hope it helps, but try to find the APK File first.

It's not just contacts.apk, but maybe ContactsSynch and so. I still haven't found a proper way to reinstall this app, nor to flash my phone.
I saw that remark of Leonid, but I'm afraid that forcing this flash will do more harm than it is now. I didn't find any approval of this method anywhere.
MTK_Rom_Studio, for some odd reason, generating the scatter file with MT6516 in it's name, while my phone is 6573. This is strange.

I gave up on the flashing idea. I said to myself I'll try to replace the missing apk's. Jhpianist, I saw that solution somewhere else already, and it somehow got to me that I can find the missing system apk's in one of the cooked ROMs I downloaded here.
Anyway, now I can sync my contacts and I'm able to dial or getting into my contacts, only through a third party app I had to install. Once I click on the original Contacts or Dial, I get the error "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly". No matter what I did, clearing the app cash, restore to default... nothing helped.
The guy who posted the solution, for reinstalling Contats.apk, said that one need to install the app once it's in system/app folder, in addition to changing its attributes. But I got a massage that the application wasn't installed once I tried.
How can I get rid of the stupid error? I feel I'm really close...
Thanks everyone :good:

Here's what you need to do.
Assuming that you have already rooted your device, use any file explorer app and go to 'etc' folder of your device. (I used Root Explorer and did this on my Samsung Galaxy Tab N8000).
In 'etc' folder, locate the file called hosts.
Touch/press and hold the icon of the file to get its context menu and open the file in text editor.
In the file, there will be one IP address to the localhost, i.e. 127.0.0.1. Leave this as it is.
There will be a second IP address which may vary depending upon your region or country. Put a # in front of it. (eg. #245.45.14.14). This will mark this entry as a comment and the device won't read it.
(I would suggest that you backup 'hosts' file before making any changes. In my case, a 'hosts.bak' file was automatically created when I saved the file after editing.)
Save the file and reboot your device.
This should resolve the issue.

That's really strange. You should be able to edit the file as rooting process needs a reboot too. Well you can still try a workaround.
* Copy all the contents from the existing host file.
* Create a new file either on your smartphone or use a computer to do so. Make sure the name of the file is 'host' (without quotes) and file does not have any extension like .txt or .doc. If the file has any extension, remove it while rename the file.
* Now paste all the copied contents from the existing file to the new one and then make the changes as I mentioned in my answer.
* Save the file and replace it with the existing one.
Let me know if this helps.
Thank You
