I’m using HTC TP in Iraq and for some reason I can’t get any service. I was using the same SIM card in my old HTC Dash, but it too was also having problems. I don’t think it’s my current location because as I travel around the city, I still can’t pick up a signal. Does anyone know what might be going on?
I'm using the RAPH_Radinly_RUU_1.02.25.28.
Thanks,
my guess is they don't support the same bands?

Yeah, but if I've got the TP, which is quad band, so should I still see this problem?
Maybe the insurgency or some other hostile activity?

Your SIM could have gone bad. Possibly overdue bill with the carrier?? Could cause that as well. Try swapping that SIM into a different phone and/or put a different SIM in the Sensation and see what happens.
if all the above posts do not work, call tmobile, there might be a outage in your area. It happens all the time due to "improving their towers"

Don't know why you used parenthesis on your statement. I am friends with one of the engineers here in Chicago. They ARE improving towers all of the time. I know here, it's mostly for backbone work, but there are areas getting all new parts throughout.

If you're still down and T-Mobile hasn't been able to help, send me a PM. I can check your tower's status.

Maybe one of the antenna contacts on the back cover is missing/misplaced and that's what causing this issue?
With the back cover removed, the Sensation cannot get a phone signal.

Thanks for such an unjustified reply. There are many things that can cause this issue. Since you seem to be able to fix problems with nothing more than a few pieces of info... I have a credit card that I left somewhere the other night. Can you tell me where it is?
sorry for the late response but yeah it was my sim card, i guess they never activated it the right way according to the workers i took it to at the local tmobile store.. but thanks everyone
Ok. And I use to work for them. I am saying that half the time the cs is lazy. If you call again and talk to another CS, they will fix your problem. No doubt they are fixing their towers to compete with the other carriers

Yes, I mean ANY WAY, to make this great phone to work on European 3G/HSDPA ..I'm not in Europe, but as you know, most Southeast Asian countries are using European Bands.
FYI, Desire HD is priced way higher than Inspire 4G in the local used market, so this is the source of my, well.. AARRRGGHHH-ness
Simply put no.
ttt
Still no solution to this? I live in Norway and I'm only able to get 2g and I'm not able to send MMS, which is a pain in the ass.
My phone is rooted with both CM7 and the Sensation mod... Is there really nothing I can do?
Problem is different radios. So, answer is no.

That sounds so odd to me tough... Why can't it just be hacked to fit the same frequency as the native radio signal?
Because its a hardware thing. It just doesn't have anything thing to pick up those 3g signals. So :f the hardware is not their no software can change it.

And that's why the Inspire is much cheaper than the DHD in the used market in Europe/SE Asia.
A search would have answered this. Thread closed
I saw a specks sheet somewhere and I think I saw that is it supports LTE also. Does that mean when T-Mobil in US rolls out their LTE network we will also be able to use one LTE? If so this bone is getting better every day. I've only had it for 2 days so far.
It's not an LTE capable phone.

When people state things as fact they should site their sources.
I.E. Where did you learn this information?

Exactly, that is because it's not an LTE phone. If it was an LTE phone it would be listed in the specs or mentioned in a review.

It's funny cause in the building.prop there's stuff on lte. I'll have to pull it up again and take a pic. Not sure if it means it will but it's there.
EDIT: Check this, https://dl.dropbox.com/u/57716148/onesbuildprop.docx, it's a choot chowing lte support one the one s. it's right in the build prop

Hopefully a question with a simple answer. Will an american version of this phone work in europe?
My wife wants an android phone with a physical keyboard and this is one of very few I can find.
Anyone in UK used one?

I'm pretty sure as long as it it's unlocked you'll be fine...however I cannot confirm so don't quote me.

The phone supports GSM 2G 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz, and 3G HSDPA 1700/2100 Mhz ranges. This means 99% that it should be able to work with your GSM operator, but you'd better ask his tech support.
I use this phone in greece so I guess you will have no problem.

Thanks for all the replies! Looks like it's definitely worth a go
I use mine in England, as I wanted a physical keyboard too. Been using it for 2 years now, and it's all fine including 3G and HDSPA. I don't think it'll work with English 4G, but there's not much of that round by me anyway.
Had to get it SIM-unlocked, but after that it was straightforward. There were a few problems with the stock ROM (like group contacts) that didn't work ('cause I wasn't on T-mobile?), and I had to manually enter the APNs for data to work. These went away when I rooted it, and all subsequent ROMs picked up GiffGaff's APNs automatically.
The keyboard is ok, but don't get your hopes up too high. I say that simply because I presume you've never seen/tried one. It's also a bit of a heavyweight, much heavier than others. But I'd still recommend it, and nobody else you know will have one.

Has anyone gotten WiFi calling working on T-Mobile?
If I missed the post let me know.
Wifi calling is not present in the Taiwan version of the phone.
Hey John, have you been using the phone on Tmobile in SF? How has your service been? I'm thinking about picking up a U11+ too and live in SF but I'm worried about the lack of band 2.

Hey. Sorry for the delay.
LTE Band 4 works just fine in SF. I am not impacted at all.
Using the LTE Discovery app, my Pixel XL also rides on band 4 so I am getting the same thing on the HTC U11+.

I'm interested in this one as well. I wonder if the US U11 Rom, which does have those features could be ported over since they are so similar.

Everything seems to be there. I'm somewhat surprised it doesn't function out of the box.
