hey everyone
I can't view any pictures that are loaded into the chat box. My phones custom rom has htc album as the default viewer. Every time I click to view the picture it just loads up a black box. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hy guys!
I'm loocking for a simple sw that show the photo of the contact full screen or in a good size.... I tryed Photo Contact but I'd like one sw more simple without profiles ecc... just some sw that integrate the system phonebook and diusplay the image during a call...
Fopr the phone profile I use WMA Phone Profile and for thering assignament I use Ringo. I just need somethink to dusplay image and nothing else...
Any idea?
Don't think you are the only one wishing this "simple" feature.. ..Now I own a QVGA screen and Microsoft uses only a small piece of the screen to show the picture
I would also like to have a fullscreen photo. Without the number etc. Because I already know who is calling
The best solution for me so far is using Address Book from Inesoft.
But it's not freeware, and still doesn't show up fullscreen..
Hi there,
i recently discovered a problem with my HD2.
In germany, you can buy tickets for traintravel via internet. Those can be sent to your mobilephone via mms. attached to this mms, you get a 2d-barcode. This barcode is stored in a gif-file which is opened by the slideshow-player but unfortunately, the picture size is way too small to be scanned. I allready tried to change MMS photo resolution in all messages -> settings -> options -> MMS but this doesnt affect the sideshow player.
Is there any way to hack this player or is there a cabfile adding a zoomfunction or simply replace slideshowplayer by something better? Its annoying to save these barcodes every time to a file and open it via photoalbum.
Thanks a lot,
cmoe

try to save picture (dikette icon on the right bottom side when you preview mms picture) ant then open in albums, then you can pinch to zoom
There is a problem with this on many devices, try search: mms size fix
There is a cab for receiving pictures in original size...

does your network have this phone released by them on it? if not then it could be a problem with the network not recognising your device.
When an mms is sent to you the network sends a request to your phone to identify itself. Within the registry is a key containing its model number. it sends thus to the network and the network references this against a list of devices and what they are capable of displaying. quite often a netwok only has a database of phones it officially supports. the network therefore does not recognise it and responds by sending the picture at the lowest resolution possible as a result you get a tiny picture. it is possible to change this "useragent" key to a device which is supported and which has the correct resolution screen. search on here and you should find the info. i have done it for o2uk but don't know it off hand.
Hi all, I've got a problem that may be already solved but I could not find proper solution here.
The problem is with Manila contacts (Manila 2.5.1921). Most of my contacts contain information about the company the person is working in and his position. This helps me really to distinguish between i.e. severel Johns - I've got lots of people I save in my addressbook just as a name and the company.
But in Manila the company and the position are not visible in the default view of the contact - I have to go to WM standard contacts to see full info - that's disgusting!
Is there any possibility to show more fields in the standard Manila contact view, I really deisre that? thanks for everyone who helps!
P.S. I generally know that managers like Resco's do have this functionality but this does not solve the issue - I want to stay with Manila but with improved contact card form.
Hi all,
Have been searching wildly for a fix to this and im reaching out for help.
Scenario: Standard email client in honeycomb 3.01 with an exchange account setup.
Issue: embedded images/ html images do not show in body of email. Please note that the issue does not rectify when pressing the show pictures button as nothing changes. All you will see is the box where the image would be and the blue question mark. The images seem to be in the attachments tab and i have the choice of view or save.
Has someone come up with a reason this happens and how to fix it?
Note also that the same exchange account is set up on my froyo htc desire and have no problems at all.
Thanks in advance
Im taking it that with no replies that no one is having this issue as described. Any help in relation to this original post would be greatly appreciated.

Ive noticed the same thing. We use html email sigs and out logo will do that. What i did was saved a copy of the logo ( same filename and everything) to my downloads folder. That fixes it for about 70%. Im guessing its an html render issue.
Ive got the same issue with my exchange email. All I see are boxes with blue question marks in the center. It's pretty aggravating that my EVO running 2.2 can display the same emails and images fine but 3.1 can't.
Has anyone tried another email client that you could recommend?

Touch Down works nice but I like the layout of the stock email client more. It bugs me that all apple products are fine in this area but android cant seem to get html email down..
I can't understand how i can have a froyo device and it works perfectly show all images etc as it should and have a honeycomb device that can't.
Just if someone ask's yes i do press show pictures and no it does not do anything. the actual emails grab all images and show them as attachements. I live on my email for work and this is to be honest CRAP effort of an email client for something so simple to not work.
Im asking anyone out there for any suggestions of a fix relating to this issue to help.
My question is that when I'm using any roms even the stock rom I can't seem to view .gif files. People sends me these funny animated pictures but it seems to me that android doesn't support them. Is there any way to view them on my text messages? there are apps to view them but you have to have it saved onto your sd card, but when the person sends it to me I can't even save the file. Is there a way anyone can make this happen or work? On my brothers Iphone he can view them when ppl text it directly to him.
I have the same issue. I have an hd2 running miui and it plays GIFs just fine but I can't play them on my g2x. I hope somebody figures it out.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I use Quick Pic as my default photo viewer/organizer. It has a built-in GIF viewer.
Its free in the android market. In my opinion its much better than the default android gallery.
