I have the extended rom and the myfaves software found in other posts that is missing parts of the software still when the program tries to run. I was wondering if anyone could post the registry entries on the wing to help us know what programs/registry enteries are needed or are missing.
For starters, in previous postings the myfaves zip file that another member so graciously put together, has a good chunk of the files. However there are still some files missing. Through some research I know that the myfaves program uses/references a program called SMSCReceiver.exe, which I believe is the status service that checks the network for myfaves access. That is one of the programs missing.
I am specifically looking for SMSCReceiver.exe and the registry entries for HKLM > SOFTWARE > HTC > My5 (and any sub entries in that folder)
Thanks in advance!
I can't find the SMSCReceiver.exe in the dump but the registry entry is attached.
My day trying to fix the L2TP/IPSec issue wasn't completely wasted
Now if you want to help me with my L2TP/IPSec issue......

thanks for the reg stuff.
another registry request from the wing users..
can i get the reg settings for the HKLM --> Software --> Microsoft --> Today --> Items. I want all keys located under Items including subkeys and values.
** The previous registry settings did help me get part of the myFaves software working. It helped me in getting the settings control panel option to function. When I press the option to refresh myFaves it does send the sms out and I get a return sms stating that my myfaves contacts have been refreshed. **
Thanks in Advance.
** EDIT **
After reviewing the registry file I have found that the following files are missing from the MyFaves zip file that is floating around there. The missing files and their locations are:
\Windows\myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_4.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_3.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_2.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_1.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_0.jpg
If anyone has these as well could you please post them? Thanks!

Not having a my favs phone can cause billing issues down the road. T-Mo's system knows what device you're using and the MDA is not a my favs phone.
I have a cousin who's been a manager for a couple of years now and he gets all the inside info for me. He say's you can use it but down the road it may or can cause billing issues.
Work-around, by a cheapy or prepay ($35) my favs phone and set it up on your account as the phone you use...every once in a while, put your sim in it and let it register with the network.
another thread on this subject

and a cab file for the reg settings
I took the file, myFaves_PhCDefault.jpg, and made five copies of it and put the five copies (appropriately renamed according to the registry) in \Application Data\HTC\myfaves as is shown in the registry. I did not do the myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg as I am not sure how big the file is supposed to be though (and actually am not sure about the contact_#.jpg's either):
\Windows\myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_4.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_3.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_2.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_1.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_0.jpg
I put a shortcut to the My5Service.exe file in the \Windows\Startup folder and soft reset.
Even after all this, when I attempt to launch My5App.exe, I get the message:
The file 'My5App' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
I will try to google to find out about the missing jpgs when I get back from dinner.
I tried searching for the filename as listed via google but no luck on that front.
Someone whom has a myfaves phone could be so kind to post the 6 files in a zip file would be great and their folder locations. In addition, an export of HKCU and HKLM registry keys since I am guessing there is more than the my5 key in the HKLM section of the registry that we need. Lastly, is there a link to My5Service in the \windows\startup folder as well (I did already try that but who knows).
Thanks.
I have a quite strange issue on my Samsung SGH-i780 (WM6).
I can not display any more excel file icons!!
I mean xls and xlt, but for instance pocket excel one are correctly displayed.
Can you tell what should I set as registry key for xlsfile and xltfile?
Thanks in advance.
In registry:
Key: HKCR\xslfile\DefaultIcon
Type: String
Value: browsres.dll,-6708
Use TotalCommander to easily set the file association correctly:
-> navigate to an xls file,
-> long click the file and chose 'Properties'
-> open the last tab 'Associate'
-> click the button 'Associte...' and browse to \Windows\PXL.exe, parameter: %1, Icon file: \Windows\officeres.ddl, Index: -15650

Thanks......I tried but with no luck!! I tried only the first part because I do not have Total Commander. Is it necessary? Can I do it with Resco Explorer?
I have xls file associated to Softmaker Office.....do you think that this is creating the issue?
Thanks for your help.
Hi, Don't know if you still need help with this, I had a similar problem and found this thread before I fixed mine, my problem happened when Excel froze and had to be forced to quit, after that happended I 'lost' the default Excel icons, no amount of re-associating them would help (I also have Resco Explorer)
My Soloution was to change the registry key: HKCR\xslfile\DefaultIcon to Value: officeres.dll, -15652
I also had lost some icons for encrypted files in Resco Explorer as well, I couldn't find any mention on the internet about what reference was the correct one, so had to find it myself. I copied the 'explorer.exe' from my xda to my PC's desktop the used @icon sushi (http://www.towofu.net/soft-e/) to figure out what icon reference I needed (176 I believe), all I had to do then was link the file extension in the registry with 'explorer.exe, -176' and I'd solved that as well.
If you still needed this, I hoped it helped.

Hello,
I'm having a hard time locating the \windows folder to change the audio for my alarm clock? When the device is connected via ActiveSync, the folder should be
"HTC Touch Pro" \windows correct? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: The only folder I see are Application Data, ConnMgr, My Documents, Documents and Settings and Program Files.
It defaults you to "\My Documents" not "\". You need to go "Up" a level.
Moved to TP general.
EDIT: (Seen as though you edited )
In Windows (not mobile) do you have Show hidden files / folders turned on?

Dave
The windows file on my TP is hidden so I have to unhide the hidden files and folders in Explorer on my PC first. Then it is where you said it should be.

so anyone know registry hack to bypass this message in wm 6.5.x????
Try this:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Setup]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Setup\.zip]
"Type"="ZIPArchive"
"Exist"=dword:00000001
"Set"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Setup\.rar]
"Type"=""
"Exist"=dword:00000000
"Set"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Paths]
"TempFolder"="\\Application Data\\Volatile\\"
"StartFolder"=""
"ExtrFolder"=""
"ArcFolder"=""
"AppendArcName"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\ListColumns]
"SortMode"=dword:00000001
"Size"=dword:00000031
"Name"=dword:0000006F
"Date"=dword:00000041
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Compression]
"UseRAR"=dword:00000001
"Solid"=dword:00000001
"Method"=dword:00000003
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rar]
@="RAR-file"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\DefaultIcon]
@="\\Windows\\rar.exe,0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\Shell]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\Shell\Open]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\\Windows\\rar.exe \"%1\""
How?
how to add the registry?
I use phm regedit...
Copy it to a text file; save it with a .reg extension, and then import it with PHM; if you have .reg files associated with PHM, then all you need to do is click on the file. It will respond like a .cab file, basically. I updated the stuff above with the proper header (windows registry editor version 5.00). You need to have it at the beginning of the file for it to work.
If you use XTask, you can close the settings window by clicking on the pocket rar icon on the task bar and dragging down to the 'close' button. You need to have 'close' as one of the xtask options in settings.
Don't work
Don't work click in file .reg extension....
At the click opens the phm resgistry and nothing happens ...
What to do?
If it's opening PHM, then you just need to import the key with PHM. Not sure how, since I don't use PHM, but I'm guessing click on File-Import reg key-navigate to key and click ok.
Or, get dotfred's task manager, set it to associate with .reg keys, and use it. The reg editor is basically the same as PHM, and it has many more tools. That's what I use.
??
I dont understand... what program do you use?
Hello
I use windows mobile 6.5
The standard location of photos is dcim/100media
Is it possible to change de path to the root?
frank
If you use a registry editor, changing the save path for the camera should be simple.
You just need to navigate to
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P1\SaveFolder
and change the string value to the folder name you want.
or install schaps advanced config tool 3.3, it saves reg edits and lots can be changed using the app......... search on here or google for it.
