T-Mobile Wing MyFaves Registry settings request - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

I have the extended rom and the myfaves software found in other posts that is missing parts of the software still when the program tries to run. I was wondering if anyone could post the registry entries on the wing to help us know what programs/registry enteries are needed or are missing.
For starters, in previous postings the myfaves zip file that another member so graciously put together, has a good chunk of the files. However there are still some files missing. Through some research I know that the myfaves program uses/references a program called SMSCReceiver.exe, which I believe is the status service that checks the network for myfaves access. That is one of the programs missing.
I am specifically looking for SMSCReceiver.exe and the registry entries for HKLM > SOFTWARE > HTC > My5 (and any sub entries in that folder)
Thanks in advance!

I can't find the SMSCReceiver.exe in the dump but the registry entry is attached.
My day trying to fix the L2TP/IPSec issue wasn't completely wasted
Now if you want to help me with my L2TP/IPSec issue......
Andy

thanks for the reg stuff.

another registry request from the wing users..
can i get the reg settings for the HKLM --> Software --> Microsoft --> Today --> Items. I want all keys located under Items including subkeys and values.
** The previous registry settings did help me get part of the myFaves software working. It helped me in getting the settings control panel option to function. When I press the option to refresh myFaves it does send the sms out and I get a return sms stating that my myfaves contacts have been refreshed. **
Thanks in Advance.
** EDIT **
After reviewing the registry file I have found that the following files are missing from the MyFaves zip file that is floating around there. The missing files and their locations are:
\Windows\myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_4.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_3.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_2.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_1.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_0.jpg
If anyone has these as well could you please post them? Thanks!

Not having a my favs phone can cause billing issues down the road. T-Mo's system knows what device you're using and the MDA is not a my favs phone.
I have a cousin who's been a manager for a couple of years now and he gets all the inside info for me. He say's you can use it but down the road it may or can cause billing issues.
Work-around, by a cheapy or prepay ($35) my favs phone and set it up on your account as the phone you use...every once in a while, put your sim in it and let it register with the network.

another thread on this subject
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309901
and a cab file for the reg settings

I took the file, myFaves_PhCDefault.jpg, and made five copies of it and put the five copies (appropriately renamed according to the registry) in \Application Data\HTC\myfaves as is shown in the registry. I did not do the myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg as I am not sure how big the file is supposed to be though (and actually am not sure about the contact_#.jpg's either):
\Windows\myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_4.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_3.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_2.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_1.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_0.jpg
I put a shortcut to the My5Service.exe file in the \Windows\Startup folder and soft reset.
Even after all this, when I attempt to launch My5App.exe, I get the message:
The file 'My5App' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
I will try to google to find out about the missing jpgs when I get back from dinner.
I tried searching for the filename as listed via google but no luck on that front.
Someone whom has a myfaves phone could be so kind to post the 6 files in a zip file would be great and their folder locations. In addition, an export of HKCU and HKLM registry keys since I am guessing there is more than the my5 key in the HKLM section of the registry that we need. Lastly, is there a link to My5Service in the \windows\startup folder as well (I did already try that but who knows).
Thanks.

Can't get phone settings panel to close

Alright, I'm at my wit's end here. I've been trying to port over some of the AKU 3.3 files directly from the tmobile WWE rom. Everything is working flawlessly except I cannot get the phone panel to close when I press the X. I'm not sure if it has to do with the ringtone player or not. I've changed the phones settings dll to the one in the crossbow rom and the reg settings check out. It's frustrating as all get out because I'm close to having this thing ready to release. Thanks.
Make sure the ringtone plays if not it will not close.... Fix that problem and it will probably work (make sure the tone is in the right place, make sure the registry points to \windows\. If you want to store them on your card just create a folder called, My Documents. And inside that folder create a folder called My Ringtones. Put your tones in there.
I does play. That's the thing. Also, it seems as if the interface has a problem. When I hit "open speed dial" after hitting the menu button, it gives me the settings-services page.
You may be on to something as the ringtone will not change. I wonder if this is hard coded into the registry somewhere. I'll have to check around.
Bump. This is driving me up the wall.

In the kitchen thread I posted the MediaOS files. I'd suggest either verifying that all the files are there - or just replacing the whole set.
Did you find any final solution?
I'm facing the same problem with my Trinity ... even the MediaOs folder replace didn't work out!!!
Yes, this was a result of the DRM modules being included in the OEM folder while cooking along with the registry settings. You'll have to look at the folder but all modules related to lsmoa must be removed along with the registry settings referencing those modules. Good luck.

Error message with shortcuts re: .lnks files

I am looking for some help with "shortcuts" or ".lnk" files
I am using a HTC Tilt 8925 with WM6, but I think this may be a more universal issue.
I went into Windows > StartMenu and added several new folders, and then moved the .lnks formed from program installations into those folders.
For instance, folder "Refererence" now hold Dictionary, Lexipedia, Thesaurus, etc.
All was OK for a while, but then I started to get error messages about 2 application .lnks that I had moved into a subfolder. The funny thing is, the links actually work! It's just that randomly, I get a WM6 message that there is a problem with " Programs > XXX > AAA "
Does anyone know how to make a "new" link, to replace these old links? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and then moving those 2 .lnks, again, to the subfolder where I want it to be, but it happened again!
Thanks for any and all ideas!
PS: I have SK Tools installed; I thought there was a shortcut tool, but I cannot find it
Go into Program Files then whatever application you want the shorcut for. Copy the exe file then navigate to wherever you want the shortcut and paste shortcut. Rename the shorcut to whatever you want and the link is done!
Having said that if your shortcuts work sometimes but not others I cant see how it is a problem with the actual shortcut. You may need help here from someone more experienced than me.

Not entirely sure what you want to remove or from where? What device and rom you using too?
I believe the OP wants to remove a Settings shortcut. I'm not sure how to do it with 6.1, but if you're using 6.5, then you may be able to delete the registry setting for the .cpl (may take some work figuring out which is which) to get rid of the shortcut. Look for it in hklm-security-shell-startinfo-start-settings. It may not work-you'll just have to experiment.

Im confused, if the OP wants to merely delete a shortcut from a folder in the start menu (wino 6.5) he can use total commander or file explorer and manullay delete or move to a different location?
I might be missing the point here though

It's harder with Settings shortcuts, though. They don't appear in the start menu directory most of the time. Only the Program shortcut show up there. I guess yiou can also delete the registry entry for the setting in HKLM\ControlPanel. That should work if the one in HKLM\Security\Shell... doesn't do the job.
Hi, i knew i was not really clear ! I typed it from my phone... too quick.
So, i'm using wm6.1 with a stock htc rom on my touch HD.
In the settings, connections tab i see and old Wifi router entry... if i click on it nothing happens and i have fulle removed this prog. So i would like to delete this entry.
As i said, i can't find any .cpl for this entry. I looked in the registry but no way to find it.
Hope i 'm more accurate now

I don't know if these keys exist or not in 6.1, but in 6.5 there are a bunch under HKLM\ControlPanel, and a lot of them are just numbered somewhat randomly. I have 3-8, 10-15 and 35. Then there are keys for Advanced Network, Backlight, Buttons, etc. If it's numbered, you may just need to use trial and error (back up before randomly deleting, obviously).
If the app was something you installed and then removed, it may have put an actual shortcut in the \Windows\Start Menu\Settings\Connections folder. Check to see if it exists, then delete it. I can remember having an app that did that once or twice. If you still have the cab file, you can analyze it with sk tools or winCE cab analyzer and see where it sticks the .cpl or what it's named.

Thanx. I see those random digits in the registry, but no way to identify which goes to which Andno it is not a "simple" link

Well, back up the HKLM\ControlPanel values, then start deleting the keys one at a time (you may need to soft reset after each one). When you find the key that gets rid of the shortcut you don't want, then restore all the original keys, and delete the annoying one again. It may not work, though-I'm just guessing that removing the keys will remove the shortcuts.

Have another Thanks from me for this, man... let me find some very useful things.
BTW, the XML file in the CAB appears to be standard provxml format; I just opened it in notepad, copied the pieces I wanted into another file, made a few changes, renamed it CustClear.provxml, and loaded it with Connection Setup. Worked great!
Thank you. drkfngthdragnlrd

Is this registry pulled from your phone or from a cooked ROM you flashed? Is there a way to dump the registry from a Mango phone itself? Thanks

They were from my phone. I had a stock ROM & upgraded to 7720.68 via the leaked method here on XDA. I than, copied out all the RGU's in \Windows\ of my phone. I merged all these RGU's into 1 large file & imported it into WinCE CAB Manager. Being as they are RGU's this is not the full registry. There are some values that aren't written till after first boot/run by the executables of WP7. I'd say this CAB is 90+% of all the registry.

Excellent! Another question; I am really after my exchange activesync registry keys; do you know if these are in any of the RGU files (I am thinking not)? When you add an account (be it POP3, IMAP4, EAS) does this get generated with an RGU that is accessible?
P.S. I have been using the 30day demo of WinCE CAB Manager and love how it shows the tree structure of your file. Was there any particular trick to merging the RGUs?

I'm not sure about the Active sync thing. I'd assume they get written once you set up your email accounts. You could look, I have no clue of the top of my head, not something I looked into.
As for merging the RGU's, I used Visual Studio, but you can use any text editor to open them. My only suggestion is to pay close attention & make sure you copy & paste correctly. Also, you only need the first line "REGEDIT 4.0 or something like that once. So don't copy the extra entries from the other RGU's.

I copied all .rgu from my phone to my PC, renamed them all to .reg, and then used WinCE CAB Manager to import each one and presto, I have a nice registry and viewer (then just save as a CAB project)!

Yeah, it's nice to have a use for WinCE CAB Manager in WP7 as it's no longer useful for creating CAB's that are installable.
@drkfngthdragnlrd - I did this on NoDo for a start (easy to get RGU to PC) but how did you go about it in Mango? I was reading along in the other thread where there were discussions about this but nothing clearly stated.

I used TouchXplorer to copy the files into an app's Isolated Store & than used [APP 2011-08-20][BETA] WP7AppBackup - Backup / Restore third party app data to back-up the app data. Than you just look inside the back-up files.

[Q] Changing the .exe - file/path behind a shortcut icon in WM6.1

Hello.
Since being a noob (one of those the video warned you about...) I must post this on general section...
I have the following problem: I would need to change WM6.1Pro registry settings somehow, that an icon (shotcut) in programs list would launch mybestsoftware.exe in location B instead of original location A
The reason is that the software is installed using different cab-files into different locations over the years and I would like to update every device to launch the application from the same directory. My update possibilities are weak, so I can only transfer my .exe - file remotely into a specified directory, but the those idio... I mean customers will launch the application from the same shotcut icon as before and therefore thay are using the old revision instead of the new and shiny latest release.
What I have done so far is dumped a registry after factory reset, installed our software using the cab-file and dumped the registry again. I found following entries:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall\Companyname Appname]
"InstallDir"="\\Program Files\\Companyname\\Appname"
"Role"=dword:00000018
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apps\Companyname Appname]
"Instl"=dword:00000001
"InstallDir"="\\Program Files\\Companyname\\Appname"
"InstlDir"="\\Program Files\\Companyname\\Appname"
But even I changed those paths into registry (\\Program Files\\Companyname\\Appname -> \\Appname, the icon still lauched the original exe
So what a humble support engineer needs to change in WM6.1 registry to tell the shortcut icon to launch the application fron a new location?
Its been a while since I last used WM, but you can create a new shortcut in the start menu using a file explorer, browsing to the exe copying it and then browsing to the start menu folder and pasting a shortcut if thats what your trying to do. I used to always use GSFinder as my file explorer.
