Hello,
I am very new at developing anything what so ever. I want to take on the task of developing a small app for my HTC/xv6900.
I make visits to peoples homes on a regular basis. I would like to have a program that I can add these people in. It will work pretty similar to the contacts system already on the windows Mobile. But there are a few things that it lacks that I need. So i decided to try to develop my own.
I found a very cheap copy of the .net 2005 and download the Windows Mobile Professional from Microsoft.
But of course I am unsure of what I am doing. I figure I could try to build the GUI first and then get some help with the coding. But now I am stuck on the GUI.
The main reason for this post is to get help and get some direction to some good tutorials that would help in building a small app for a WM6 Professional device.

Most apps can be developed using Mircosoft Visual Studio. You can download free versions here (http://www.microsoft.com/express/). Although they might not support mobile development I can't remember it's been so long since.
As for books, I am prety much self taugh other than the odd C# book to get me going.

Having just checked out how to start WM6 programming yesterday, the requirement is Visual Studio 2005 or later (professional for touch devices I think). Express wont work.
Hi there,
I have a project to do at work and I work with PDAs all day. My mission is to get the Windows Mobile emulator to be embedded onto a website.
I want to know if this is even possible before I start putting lots of energy into this.
Any help would be much appreciated.
There must be someone out there with some knowledge of this! Please!
Hi,
My name is Søren, and I am experience .net developer, and now I want to start developing on my new HTC Desire.
What do I do to get started? Does anyone knows some good slinks to some simple beginnerguides?
I am not interested in the coding; that should be relative easy, but I am interested in how to setup my windows 7 with SDK's, IDE/GUI and so on.
Thanks in advance.

You need to learn to walk before you can run....play around with you smartphone first, read the threads and go from there.
Check out Chef Central in the meantime.
