Hi
I'd really like to upgrade the ROM on my wife's Tytn II which is on Three (UK) but would like to get hold of the original shipped ROM (in case of future insurance purposes).
Does anybody know where I can get the official UK ROM for Three; the one that shipped with the device on the Three contract? I've tried to search all this forum and the Wiki without any luck.
Thanks

Hi,
I tried to upgrading my ROM for my O2 XDA II Mini, but I think I used the wrong ROM and now all that comes on my screen is Serial v1.00 or USB v1.00. There was some error that came up as it was flashing, about being the wrong model.
I bought the English version in Hong Kong and I think it might have been shipped from Australia. I have spoken to technical support and they have suggested I need to take it back to them for a 5 day repair.
Can anybody advise how to get out of this situation?
Every time I try to upgrade the ROM now it comes up with wrong country ID.
Also is it possible to flash and O2 XDA Mini with the I-Mate JAM ROM as I don’t think I can find the correct ROM for this model and country phone?
Where to download the latest ROM? Would it be on the CD I got with the phone? I have also tried hard reset but no hope.
Please help!!! :!:
Log into the XDA Developers FTP Site and download the original rom that shipped with your device.
Connect your device and run the rom upgrade, it should be fine.
Cheers
Ok trying this now!
Just comming up with country ID error. Going to try another ROM.
There arent to many O2 XDA Mini shipped ROM upgrades in the FTP.
Is there a way to change the country ID?
If you suggest using GetDeviceData.exe it keeps saying not a vaild win32 application. How to get this working?
Not without the passwords for the roms. These are hard to come by and I'm not aware of them being available yet.
What rom were you running before you did this latest upgrade?
Cheers
i think its 1.03. I can not remeber.
Is there any way top get past the country ID problem or does any one have an O2 ROM from Australia or Hong Kong English.
Looks like i'm taking the phone back to the shoop tomorrow. Not gonna try the upgrade again!.
Maybe I will try a back up and psot the rom here. There seems to be no O2 XDA Mini ROM's ion this site.
Why give up?
go to www.compactjam.com half way down the front page is a topic - English T-Mobile MDA Compact ROM provided by Nowicom at last!
Follow the instructions.
Cheers

Hey Guys!
Basically I would like to upgrade my O2 (UK) XDA Mini S to WM6. I am finding all the topics and different roms confusing, especially when I am worried that I may get a rom which only works for American devices. Could anyone throw some links my way for a suitable rom and possible flashing instructions?
Thanks!
Basically all the latest custom build wm6 Roms are good for both Uk & USA builds, there's no specific Uk build Rom,they work perfectly for all wizards, regardless being a Uk or American device.
To upgrade to wm6,its required to have a CID unlocked phone. Read the 'Stickies' in the 'Wizard Upgrading' forum for unlocking and flashing a Rom.
Cheers!
Hi All;
I am hoping that someone can help me.
(I have looked around for a couple of days - but can't find what i need...)
I am new to smartphones - but have Tytn II that i have flashed with a WM 6.1 ROM....
My biggest regret with flashing my Tytn was not taking a copy of the ROM before i flashed it - so i could take it back under warrenty if required
SO.. i did some more research when it came the the E650 i want to flash...
I can see how i can dump the ROM here..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Vox_HowToDumpRom&action=BackLinks
but i don't understand how i can rebuild the files once i have dumped them into a ROM i can flash...?
Or...
The version of the ROM that i have on the E650 is 1.22.61.3 (Orange UK)
The prepackaged ROMs on the XDA FTP includes E650_ROM_version_1.22.70.3.zip (which is obviously a higher version ;-)) is this a UK Orange SPV E650 ROM that will be accepted for warrenty purposes? In which case - should i bother with dumping the ROM on my phone or just use E650_ROM_version_1.22.70.3 (which would mean i wouldn't learn anything though...)
Cheers

you need not bother about dumping the rom because the orange rom at the ftp is the official release by orange and accepted for warranty purpose.
talking of that even the original tytn rom is available here on the ftp so you need not worry about that either.

Hi Prajith;
Thanks for the reply - guess i won't learn how to do stuff today - though if anyone else wants to point me in the right direction to recompile a dumped ROM - there is always tomorrow
Prajith - i should have been more specific - i have the UK TMobile Vario III... there is no original ROM for that that i have found so far....
Cheers

i am not sure of how to reconstruct the rom from dump but it is explained somewhere in the wiki or in the forum.
i thought you wanted the htc rom for kaiser which is available here on ftp. t-mobile's rom i couldn't find.
but i am sure it will come soon. they'll definitely release a wm6.1 rom.
Can someone link me to the latest proper T-mobile UK rom please? So I can restore it all back to stock.
I need to send phone in for repair, lost where I dumped my rom. I can only find on the wicki/on here links to NL T-Mobile roms.
T-Mobile site has nothing for the mdaIII (kaiser).
Much appreciated,
Greg.
Failing that - anyone got a T-Mobile UK rom they dumped from their own phone?
Greg.
Found this on Google. If it's what your after, can you let us know and someone (or you) will upload it and update the wiki.

What about http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1586817&postcount=2 (6th one down i think) taken from the FAQ, Wiki, Stickies & Tutorials thread? is that one not any good?
paradoox
Paradoox - it might be, thankyou. But it is listed as OS Only Big Storage - I presume this isn't how T-mobile shipped my Kaiser. The other one DaveShaw is listed as OS only so I presume it won't put my radio/splash back etc, like the one above.
Are either any use do you think if I want to put my Kaiser back exactly as it was out the box?
Greg.
hiya,
iv flashed the reconstructed rom iv refered to before, and it works fine, the original tmobile splash screen is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374190 (post 5). im supposing you know how to flash it
in regards to the original radio, i honestly cant remember what it was. check out the kaiser ultimate radio thread, if i find out, il let you know.
paradoox
p.s the rom is reconstructed but as far as im aware its exactly the same as a normal release rom, its just someone has taken the tmobile uk operating system end product from a kaiser and made it into a rom as it has not been officially released. it flashes in exactly the same way as you'd flash anything else.
i have sent mine back one with a duttys rom on it, the technical support are that stupid they probably dont even know that flashing software on the device is even possible
i would say as long as u have the tmobile splash rom on it and 6.0, they wont even know the difference
Hy
sorry from my bad english....
I buyed an orange kaiser and would like to unlock it and put on a 6.1 clean microsoft virgin rom
ye I read almost all the wiki and newbs stickies and I'm goin to follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
the only problem now is getting the rom I like..
saw here the list of roms to download
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs
but for the UK model ( and keyboard ) I just saw the orange, o2 or vodafone one and not the "virgin htc official don't know wha else" one...
can somebody suggest me wich rom should download from there?
thanks everybody sorry for writing here just wonted not to open a new thread ( found it superfunny and superclear http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting )
Hi,
I am trying to locate an original O2 ROM image for the XDA Flint (HTC Advantage X7510) and I haven't found one anywhere around yet. I am sllogging through the "support" chain with O2 (whom referred my to HTC in the first instance, and you can imagine what they said!). I have spoken to Anovo who handle all XDA repairs for the UK and they don't even have it! Heaven only knows what would happen if I returned the phone. I would probably receive a new one back!
Anyways, I am not comfortable flashing any of the ROMS from here until I know I can go back to the original ROM (I only received the phone 3 days ago!). It is running ROM version 3.32.206.2 ExtROM version 3.32.206.101. I have read that there is a 3.32.206.4 version but I cannot find any specifics on what changed (nor, obviously, the ROM itself).
Has anybody had any luck getting this ROM? Has anybody sent a Flint back to O2 for repair? Anovo and my time on the phone with them would suggest not.....
For what it's worth I'd suggest sticking with what you've got. I found the O2 Flint ROM to be the fastest and generally leanest ROM around.
O2 deliberately left the ROM lite as it was intended for the corporate and educational sectors who were expected to install their own preferred software.
The WM6.5 ROMs are still not fully workable and leave a very low free Program Memory. MichyPrima's ROMs are very good, and marginally faster than O2's in some circumstances, but the O2 ROM is still more stable and memory efficient.
If you eventually need a genuine O2 ROM, you could PM me- I may be able to get hold of one

Hi Neil,
If you can still get hold of an O2 ROM for the O2 XDA Flint please can I have a copy too?
I prefer the latest O2 ROM if possible but not a must, I too haven't attempted to flash any cooked ROMs without a backup of an original O2 ROM.
I'm not sure if there are any newer O2 ROMs than the one supplied on the device.
As one of the original Flint testers for O2, mine came with a pre-release ROM which is why I was sent a link to the release ROM when it came to market.
The one I have downloaded is ROM version 3.32.206.2. [Edit- no it's not, it's 3.32.206.4 ]
I can't check any more as the Flint is all packaged up ready to sell
Genuine O2 ROM
Sorry to hear you're selling the Flint Neil, but if there's a link to any genuine O2 ROM for download that would also help.

I don't think there are any formal download links, but reset assured I'll keep my own copy and will respond to PMs if needed
