O2 XDA Flint ROM Image - Advantage X7510 General

Hi,
I am trying to locate an original O2 ROM image for the XDA Flint (HTC Advantage X7510) and I haven't found one anywhere around yet. I am sllogging through the "support" chain with O2 (whom referred my to HTC in the first instance, and you can imagine what they said!). I have spoken to Anovo who handle all XDA repairs for the UK and they don't even have it! Heaven only knows what would happen if I returned the phone. I would probably receive a new one back!
Anyways, I am not comfortable flashing any of the ROMS from here until I know I can go back to the original ROM (I only received the phone 3 days ago!). It is running ROM version 3.32.206.2 ExtROM version 3.32.206.101. I have read that there is a 3.32.206.4 version but I cannot find any specifics on what changed (nor, obviously, the ROM itself).
Has anybody had any luck getting this ROM? Has anybody sent a Flint back to O2 for repair? Anovo and my time on the phone with them would suggest not.....

For what it's worth I'd suggest sticking with what you've got. I found the O2 Flint ROM to be the fastest and generally leanest ROM around.
O2 deliberately left the ROM lite as it was intended for the corporate and educational sectors who were expected to install their own preferred software.
The WM6.5 ROMs are still not fully workable and leave a very low free Program Memory. MichyPrima's ROMs are very good, and marginally faster than O2's in some circumstances, but the O2 ROM is still more stable and memory efficient.
If you eventually need a genuine O2 ROM, you could PM me- I may be able to get hold of one

Hi Neil,
If you can still get hold of an O2 ROM for the O2 XDA Flint please can I have a copy too?
I prefer the latest O2 ROM if possible but not a must, I too haven't attempted to flash any cooked ROMs without a backup of an original O2 ROM.

I'm not sure if there are any newer O2 ROMs than the one supplied on the device.
As one of the original Flint testers for O2, mine came with a pre-release ROM which is why I was sent a link to the release ROM when it came to market.
The one I have downloaded is ROM version 3.32.206.2. [Edit- no it's not, it's 3.32.206.4 ]
I can't check any more as the Flint is all packaged up ready to sell

Genuine O2 ROM
Sorry to hear you're selling the Flint Neil, but if there's a link to any genuine O2 ROM for download that would also help.

My XDA Flint has ROM version 3.32.206.4 dated 12/08/2008
I too am in the same boat as many others are! I really want to flash to a MichyPrima ROM but without a backup of the stock O2 ROM I won't do it!!

I don't think there are any formal download links, but reset assured I'll keep my own copy and will respond to PMs if needed

XDA Neo (aka. Qtek S200 Rom(German) )

Hy Guyz!!
Does anybody know (have the O2 german rom) where i can download the german (O2) rom for the Xda Neo.
Thanks in advance.

Would be interested as well
I've a new O2 with german rom, I'm searching abot OS ENG ROM or I prefer the ITALIAN rom.
Before I delete my GER rom, If you want I can dump this for you. Do you have a O2 ENG or (the best) ITA rom (Qtek or i-mate)?.

I've finally got mine backed up before i flashing it with i-jaming newest rom. But it is backed as dump. .. and as far as i know, to reflash it back later (i.e. if you/have want to), it has to be a .nba format. but i do not know how to convert it to that format.
If anybody knows how please let me know and i'll post the finished product here.
Thanks
Peace
ummm ... i would kindly appreciate if someone could backup its current ROM and upload it to xda ftp.
What ROM, OS, RADIO version is this? Currently i have the Qtek German ROM (see signature). Is the EXT ROM also available?
Regards,
Falk
I am also very interested in flashing mine to an english rom (qtek, etc), but I do also want the option of going back to the GErman Rom if need be...but, i have not seen the original German (Neo) rom posted. Does anyone know where this can be found? The O2 site has nothing....
thanks...
folks, the german (or whatever languaged roms) mostly pop up as soon as the carrier (o2, tmobile, orange, ...) or oem (qtek, imate) have a update rom available, so it is usually no problem to install your prefered rom now and then go back to the original as soon as you want to sell the device. also if you think that switching the rom may harm your warranty:
1) it's always possible to f*ck up the rom version you have on your device in case of a hardware issue (simply start any update and the unplug the usb), so your beloved device becomes a paperweight and noone can say what rom you've used; 2) would changing the os on your desktop pc harm any warranty? no. so there you go whenever someone asks.
you don't need to change the cid of your device, there's a modified upgrade_utility, so you can always go back to the original state of rom as soon as your carrier releases one.
go update now ...
cheers, lutz
aaaaaand by the way: the xda neo (prophet) german rom from o2 is now available officially here: http://www.o2-online.de/o2/kunden/technikundeinst/exclusive/xda/xdaneo/index.html?nidx=1 go get it and be happy

Thanx man.

Where are these "official" ROMS coming from?

So i registered my TyTn II SN on the HTC e-club expecting to see ROMs for download. It properly shows my device as registered, but there are no ROMS available for download. I contacted their e-mail support and was told that "no ROMs have been relased for the TyTN II."
How can this be? From everything I am looking at here there should be at least one 6.0 ROM and one 6.1 ROM that was released by HTC??? If not, where are all these ROMs coming from?
Did I get bad info from HTC? Did they remove all their ROMS for some reason? Please help me understand.
thx.
dear friend
i understand your confused i also got it in the begining but i understode later
all those rooms are built in something you can call it beta version of windows 6.1
this is what i know about that and maybe someone else knows better and correct me if iam wrong
best regards
They are not OFFICIAL, as many people might think. They are built by cooks around here (and other places).
Keep in mind that there are also ROMS from other countries that come available then are shared.
You may have registered to HTC e-club, however, it may not show as per your location.
As I understand, the newest rom always come with the newest device come to market, htc don't update "old" devices, even there is new version rom released from microsoft. For example, kaiser was released last year, and the newest rom in the meantime was 6.0, so the kaiser came with 6.0. Even you buy your kaiser now, and the 6.1 was released by microsoft few months ago, you won't get 6.1 in your brand new kaiser.
All these new "offical" roms are released or leaked by microsoft, for newer devices, and our cookers here cook them for our kaiser and we can have chance to try new functions in these new roms.
Thanks for the reponses.
So, If i understand correctly, no one is able to Download the "official" ROM for their device from HTC directly?
I believe I can download the AT&T Tilt ROM from AT&T, but for HTC ROM every copy that exists here is from a "dump" of someone elses or a cooked version?
To start with my device i would rather use a fresh ROM and not a cooked version. How can I easily find what is the latest "Clean" dump ROM out there?
thanks!
Actually, no one is able to go to HTC's website and download an official 6.1 ROM for their Kaiser/Tilt II as they have "officially" not released it yet.
Microsoft has only just "officially" announced WM6.1 in the last week.
I dont' necessarily mean the latest as in 6.1.... I mean are there ANY officially released HTC Roms that I can use to flash my tilt and if so...where and how can I get an "official" one. Again, by official I mean not a dump or a cook.

well, if youre saying "official" as in, HTC says, "hey everyone with an htc device thats running a rom not belonging to htc, here's an official release of our rom for your device" then no.
but, however, there are roms in these threads that were extracted from say the htc kaiser that is an offical htc rom, no att, just htc
if you want an "official" htc rom then you'll have to buy an unlocked device, instead of one from a particular carrier.

WHAT I WONDER is the wm6.1 suppose to have silverlight mobile and skype mobile and ie better featured but non of the leaked roms ever showed any of these features?
Well for instance, when I had my PPC6700 and there were issue with it, Sprint actually had me reload their ROM to try and troubleshoot.
If you buy an "unlocked" HTC with no carrier, then whose ROM does HTC expect you to use...the HTC rom that comes with the device, or another special ROM made available to the carrier? I suppose that if you buy an unlocked Kaiser (for $5-700) that there is nothing in the warranty saying you can't reflash it... therefore shouldn't HTC provide a copy of the ROM incase you need to flash it back to defaults?
thx

I bought a TyTn II, as well as a Wizdr before, both unlocked, and always got a CD-ROM with apps AND a restoration utility which is actualy the original ROM.
If I take a look now on the HTC e-club, my registered TyTN II has a download available, but it's from 09/2007 (and french..). So I don't even consider flashing my device with this as it would be the same as the one delivered with my phone I think.

Right Dredd..that's what I am talking about.... I would think that someone who bought an unlocked one would have a CD with the "official" ROM and that HTC would also post that on e-club for registered members (in case you lost your CD)... But they don't appear to post one for download there...

Dump to Flashable ROM?

Hi All;
I am hoping that someone can help me.
(I have looked around for a couple of days - but can't find what i need...)
I am new to smartphones - but have Tytn II that i have flashed with a WM 6.1 ROM....
My biggest regret with flashing my Tytn was not taking a copy of the ROM before i flashed it - so i could take it back under warrenty if required
SO.. i did some more research when it came the the E650 i want to flash...
I can see how i can dump the ROM here..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Vox_HowToDumpRom&action=BackLinks
but i don't understand how i can rebuild the files once i have dumped them into a ROM i can flash...?
Or...
The version of the ROM that i have on the E650 is 1.22.61.3 (Orange UK)
The prepackaged ROMs on the XDA FTP includes E650_ROM_version_1.22.70.3.zip (which is obviously a higher version ;-)) is this a UK Orange SPV E650 ROM that will be accepted for warrenty purposes? In which case - should i bother with dumping the ROM on my phone or just use E650_ROM_version_1.22.70.3 (which would mean i wouldn't learn anything though...)
Cheers
SF
you need not bother about dumping the rom because the orange rom at the ftp is the official release by orange and accepted for warranty purpose.
talking of that even the original tytn rom is available here on the ftp so you need not worry about that either.

Hi Prajith;
Thanks for the reply - guess i won't learn how to do stuff today - though if anyone else wants to point me in the right direction to recompile a dumped ROM - there is always tomorrow
Prajith - i should have been more specific - i have the UK TMobile Vario III... there is no original ROM for that that i have found so far....
Cheers

i am not sure of how to reconstruct the rom from dump but it is explained somewhere in the wiki or in the forum.
i thought you wanted the htc rom for kaiser which is available here on ftp. t-mobile's rom i couldn't find.
but i am sure it will come soon. they'll definitely release a wm6.1 rom.

Original WWE Rom please.

Hi all, has anyone got or know where I can get an original HTC ROM 1.28.405.3 WWE for my new Touch Cruise?.

Thanks to all as always..

Many thanks omaga, already looked and the closest was Official test 1.28.405.1 HTC ROM from xda-ftp. Not sure about using a test ROM.
My version 1.28.405.3 WWE.
There was a program i came across for the artemis to dump a ROM from it straight to the memory card, but can't remember where I saw it.
Cheers anyway.
I also need the original 1.28.405.3 WWE ROM for my Touch Cruise. Has anyone got it?
I "upgraded" the radio to a newer verson (old was 1.58, new was 1.64) and ever since then, my GSM reception has gone bad. Calls drop out, and I get maximum 2 bars reception. When wifi is on, it kills the GSM reception.
I downgraded the radio back to the original (1.58.21.23) but the problem persists. I even put the original SPL on there (so no more HardSPL) but still no luck. Even a hard reset didn't fix it.
Any suggestions?
I downloaded the WM6 rom from the HTC site, but that's an older version (1.25.405.1).
1.28.457.2 WM6 rom
I use this. This according to me newer and better. This is a fast and stable version.
Why is this not rather good for you?

New Official HTC Rom

I contacted HTC about the stock rom on the X7510. That is slow etc. And if there would come other rom version or upgrade etc.
They told me to look up on the HTC site somewhere around oktober. That is going to take a while. But hey. Better something, then nothing at all.

EDIT : I think its time for me start learning how to coock a rom myself. No patience

You'll probably find that the cooked ROMs shared in this forum are streets better than what HTC will bring out. All those little extras which our able chefs cook into their ROMs will not be in HTC's new ROM.
Coocked rom's bether idd but
Coocked rom's bether idd but. There still yet are 2 versions build by Michy. the 6.1 i got installed now. And works like a charm. And the 6.5 version that is still to buggy but looks good. I hope there wil be more roms pritty fast.
