Hello,
I looked for a post on this but was unable to find one - I understand files burned into the ROM are unmoveable but I'm curious if anyone has had any luck removing the Touch Mobile Guide - all the files in the Windows folder & its own take up a considerable amount of space & I don't need this guide installed on my TP when I can d/l one on my laptop if needed (or just come here)
I appreciate any help on this. thanks

Hey.
I hope someone can help.
I have heard a lot of positve comments for Android and would like to try it on my HTC Diamond - but I can't find where to download it?
I have tried some different places and have transfered the "program" to my HTC but when I want to run the setup file it says that it is not an legal pocket pc program.
This make me thinks it's the wrong files I have - so please if anyone can tell we where to find it and maybe and step by step guide how to install it.

the above post is correct in how to change the default locations, but search on the forum (using search!) for the latest version (i think its 3.3 ??)
Dear,
I am new on this forum therefore I do apologyze if I am posting at the wrong place
I have a nearly no name GPS (Magnum PND 2735) with Navigon on it.
It has Windows CE 5.0 on it (some references if it can help/ 00039-267-519-955 and X11-1532).
On the internet I found a program called MioPocket (MP, I can't post a link here, google will find it easyly for you). It allows you to get acces to the OS of your GPS and also allows to use other GPS programs (with a handy user interface).
Now I first used an older version of it with no problem. Then I installed the latest version and I had some troubles with some softwares so I decided to remove it again an reinstall it. Unfortunately it must have gone wrong; Now the GPs does not start, I have the startup screen working and then nothing starts. I suppose some drivers must have been deleted.
Now I have acces to my GPS with a USB cable to my computer. I have acces to the root of the GPS (Windows) but a lot of files are secured.
I have a friend with exactly the same GPS. He copied a maximum of files (able to copie) for me but it didn't work.
As a lot of files a locked I looked out for a rom file but did not find one. After a lot of research I found this friendly forum. I know my problem has not to do with HTC phones but the solution might be the same.
I would like to know if it would be possible (and how) to make a rom file from the OS on my friend's GPS and then how to install it to my GPS.
Is there specific software requested? Is there a procedure on how to make a rom file from a mobile device? Is it possible to make a rom file from any mobile device?
I do hope anyone can help me, I was so happy with my GPS.
First of all I thank everyone on this forum, you are all friendly and helpful.
firstally im a new user and first time joining this site, now sorry if this is in the wrong spot and if its been asked before but im unable to find what i seek
i have a few questions and am a complete noob when it comes to modding the android system also i used 1.3.0 of z4Root to root my australian android 2.2 froyo samsung galaxy tab 7 inch screen android tab
question 1: how do i go about viewing the root system files of my android device via a windows xp machine (how do i view the tab system files from a computer)
question 2: how do i theme the icons and menus and where can i download them
question 3: if i was to remove root access after doing the themeing would the theme be kept on my phone or would it be removed
question 4: how do i go about finding out whos using my mobile ap connection when its active (is there a program i can use or is it impossible)
Hi, welcome to the xda.
In response to your Pm..
1- As far as i know there is no easy way of doing it.
2- Start here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=752
3- as far as i know theming involves replacing system files, so if you remove the root access the theme should work.
4-Well, when you set up your mobile Ap you should make it secure with a password, that way the only people accessing your mobile network will be the only ones with the password.
I’m sorry i can’t be more specific but i myself a nob on android.
i strongly suggest that you read the forums from the link above before doing any changes to your device.
Regards
Faria
1: Download the android SDK then use the adb shell to view your androids file system
2: Theme is usually done by getting the specific files, like framework-res.apk, changing colors /images, resigning the package and putting it onto the phone again.
3: Once the theme is installed it won't care about root or not. You just need root to replace the old files
thank you both of you i will try what you suggest and post how it goes (mainly want access as a game running on fpse refuses to load save files and a fix requires the files found in root)
EDIT: ok i decided to go by another post and download root explorer it lets me copy the files to my mem card then i can mess with via pc a slower but safer way IMO
my asus is at a full stop at win 10 launch
i cant go past the welcome screen
tried everything so i used an ubuntu live usb "try out"
the fact that the storage of the asus is stuck at a hibernate mode and it cant start normally
and on ubuntu it only let me open it in read only mode.
i took all the files i needed except for one, an outlook file
its 1.5Gb every time i try to copy it to my sd the os freezes hence a restart i tried it many times the same outcome
at times it transfer a total of 10 mb at others 500 mb
tried to split the file using a compress feature
small chunks seems easy to move
but the splitting feature needs an internet connection i cant get my wifi adapter to work in the first place
no internet for me
so cant download the proper resources for rar to be installed
anybody has any other knowledge i can get a work around this heckup
also i tried using CMD in safe mode
no luck........
and i should point out im a newbie so try to be informative as much as possible
thnx in advance to all
