problems setting up fido internet/3G in unlocked HTC Fuze - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hi there, i've just recently bought an HTC Fuze and just put on NATF v4 for fuze (IT'S GREAT!! Got rid of the AT&T stuff that i don't want and everything is just better!!). I'm on a FIDO Network and I can't seem to get my internet/3G to work. it works fine if it's on wi-fi or when plugged in but once i take it out, it doesn't work.
i even tried different configuring things:
name: FidoWAP
APN: wap.fido.ca
user: fido
pass: fido
&
name: FidoINT
APN: internet.fido.ca
user: fido
pass: fido
I've searched the forums and google for same issues but i can't find any. i'm starting to think it's just me who has this problem. i'm not very familiar with this phone or settings and i'm actually pretty happy that i got to flash the rom considering i'm pretty noob at this stuff. Please Help!

Leave the username and password blank. Thats how it works for me!

I had some trouble initially too. There may be various configurations that work (no username/password/domain etc.) but here are the settings I am using successfully: (Hopefully this is everything I did! )
Name: whatever
Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
APN: internet.fido.ca
Username: fido
Password: fido
Domain: 205.151.011.011 (note the zeros)
Advanced: No changes
in MMS Options
Gateway: 205.151.11.13 (note the lack of zeros)
Port: 8080
Server Address: http://mms.fido.ca
Also, make sure to run the disable proxy cab. This will get most things working.
To get Opera working I had to uninstall the version that NATF included and install the latest version I could find.
I haven't been able to test the caller id fix yet (it is supposed to be confirmed working and already included in the ROM), and I have had no success in getting rid of the roaming icon, but other than that it seems everything is up and running.

I've been using this setup for a while now. However, I find my download speed very slow (130kb/s) compare to my friend Iphone, which he got over 300kb/s.
Can anyone tell me what's the top speed you got on your Fuze/Touch Pro?
I use this link to check my speed: http://dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1&more=1

I just got 998kb/s and my reception is pretty spotty inside. Tried a second time and got 1338.

are you on Fido?
What's the Icon you have? 3G, E or H?
Also man, if you're connecting through USB, then of course you'll get that speed. I'm talking about using Fido service without USB, like on the street.

I'm on Fido with H. Of course not through USB. Just tried at home where my signal strength is much better (not that it actually matters) and got 382 and 472.
Note: I'm using Opera 15613 and Radio 1.11.25.01

That made more sense then your previous post when you said you got more than 1MB/s
Thanks for the info... I'll try that radio

Captivate Unlock and use with tmobile Tzones hack?

Has anyone unlocked their captivate? how did you do so, buy an unlock code? and has any one attempted to use it with tmobile tzones hack. since it is quad band, technically it should work with tmobile 3g and since tmobile doesnt have the imei's the tzones hack should theoretically work. i am just looking for conformation before i give up my nexus for this device.
any one have any insights?
No unlock yet. Check around the forums. It's being discussed here:
hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729284
Sorry to bust your bubble, but the AT&T Samsung Captivate handles these 3G bands [3G UMTS/HSDPA (850/900/1900/2100 MHz)].
Notice that there is no 1700 (AWS) band, which is Tmobile's 3G band. So at most even if you successfully get it unlocked you'll be limited to 2.5G EDGE only on Tmobile, no 3G.

true, I have unlocked Captivate with my T-Mobile SIM from work and it shows only Edge anywhere, even next to cell tower at work where I was getting full bars 3G on MyTouch.
Is there any way around it?
So does this phone work with Tzone or Web2Go including GPS and push email? Thanks
I have my Captivate unlocked and its working on T-Mobile, except for data
Anyone know what the APN settings might be that work? The T-Mobile SIM I have in the phone has a data plan attached to it. Ive tried all the APN's I could find on the web (at least 4 variations) and none seem to give me EDGE. I know the 3G wont work, but Im just curious about getting at least the EDGE to work.
Thanks in advance!
~T.J.
EDIT: It seems one of the APNs worked for me, I just had to restart the phone after entering it.
i have an un-captivate.. everything seems to work fine but yes.. only 2g's
incredible phone.. im on wifi most of the time.
what do you mean by your data doesnt work?

Thanks for the reply. I edited my post, it started working after I restarted the phone. Originally it was showing full service but no Edge icon, thus nothing data related was working (almost everything, haha). Voice calls in and out were fine, but nothing else. Once I restarted the phone it fired up and was on Edge just fine. I have since swapped back to my AT&T sim because Im evaluation their service in my area, but I wanted to know it would work on T-Mobile in case I cancel AT&T so I can keep the phone

Is there anyway you can post the settings?
I've try everything but can't get to work.
I also have a default data setting (T-Mobile US 310 310)
That don't work but I can create a new APN, just need to know the settings.
Seems like no data or MMS ability right now (I have the $10 plan with internet2.voicestream.com working on nokia N95 before this).

The link I posted above your quote has a MMS/MMSC address in it.
This was all formatted for use on an iPhone so I'm not sure how the fields differ on the Captivate. But good luck to you all trying to get it working.

No data connection

Thanks to sean1984, I was able to get a stock ROM back on my Nexus S and back up and running again.
After reboot, I noticed I have radio signal and 3G data connection as well. By the way, I'm on Koodo.
I was so happy everything was back up.
In my excitement, I figured I would flash a new ROM on there again (since I didn't learn my lesson the first time).
I put AndroidME_NexusS_v1.2.3 on the phone. Everything came up as expected. I noticed in the features that no radio was included, so I flashed the UCKF1-GRK39F-radio-nexuss-unsigned.zip but there was no 3G data active.
Am I missing something?
Just so you know, if it says no radio/bootloader it means that the one you currently have will stay. No need to flash another one if your current one works fine.
As for your problem, are you sure you flashed the correct radio? I'm not sure if Koodo uses the i9020A, i9020T or 4G (CDMA) services, but you'll need to make sure that you've flashed a radio for your particular phone and frequency. You'll lose 3G if you flash a i9020A on a i9020T phone, for example. You can extract the radio from the ROM you downloaded too, if you like, as you know it works.
If this is not why, maybe you just need to set up the APN. Settings -> Wireless and Networks --> Mobile Networks --> Access Point Names
Mine have always worked automatically, but maybe you just need to set it up. Koodo should be able to help you, probably somewhere on their website too.
if you are gsm nexus s flash this radio uckf1GRK39C
make sure to wipe davlik cache before flashing
Thanks again sean & Harbb. Once again, my ass, not in the fire anymore.
Update
I tried flashing the file that sean supplied, but still no love.
I had to set up a new APN as Harbb had mentioned. Not easy finding this info on Koodo's web site.
Here are the APN settings for Koodo for those of you that need it:
Navigate to Settings / Wireless controls / Mobile networks / access point names
Input the following settings (leaving designated fields blank):
Code:
APN: sp.koodo.com
Proxy server: 74.49.0.18
Port: 80
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http colon: slash/ slash/aliasredirect.net/proxy/koodo/mmsc
Proxy server: 74.49.0.18
Port: 80
MCC : 302
MNC : 220
APN type :
Good work finding that info, sometimes its a true struggle if it's not done automatically. Happy you got it sorted buddy.

I tried searching but could not find the 'right' APN as I am unsure what is right and wrong. All I know is that I am able to get HSPA+ but no LTE... Could you please advise? Also, in the network settings it is currently GSM/HSPA/LTE (to that variant).
Currently on the Rogers network.
Checked for LTE APN and currently used this, no luck:
Name: Rogers LTE
APN: ltemobile.apn
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
User Name: not set
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
Authentication Type Not Set
APN Type: *
Problem resolved, I guess I just had to reset + let Rogers register my SIM or something.
Can you tell me which "baseband" you have installed? It is in the Settings, About, Software Information, More screen. I'm having the exact same issue (no LTE) on Rogers and have that exact same APN. I'm wondering if I flash a certain radio if it will fix it. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It might just be your area in KW.
I have the latest 2.41 radio from O2 but that should not matter as I previously had 1.94 (Rogers) radio as well.

Thanks for the info. We definitely do have LTE coverage here in the KW area. I ran the RUU to test it out and I indeed got LTE coverage. So far I'm stuck on HSPA if I run any custom ROM, but it is really not all that bad. Thanks again. Some day I will figure out how to unlock LRE on my phone!

any one help?? please.. i took my phone to someone who rooted my phone and updated to the lates 4.0.4 im on Rogers wirless and filled the APN settings and im only getting H or 3G and not getting LTE anymore.. can anyone help?? im running clean rom
You need to get the rogers APN for lte and put it in on your settings. I'm on fido and sometimes it takes a few minutes for it to connect to LTE. Here's the settings you can try
APN - ltemobile.apn
Proxy - <not set>
Port - <not set>
Username- <Not set>
Passwors - <not set>
Server < not set>
MMSC - http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS - proxy 10.128.1.69
MMS - Port 80
MMS protocol - Wap 2.0
MCC - 302
MNC - 720
Aythentication type - < not set>
APN type - either "*" or "internet + mms" Should work
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
If the above doesn't work try this:
Go into system tuner or ROM manager, backup then edit this build.prop:
ro.telephony.default_network
Change the number to 10 or 11 (that's what worked for me)
Save it and reboot.
Let me know if this works. I'm trying to get some momentum going on this as it seems to be a common problem in my area

[Q]No Data Connection After Update (Consumer Cellular)

I have an AT&T branded Galaxy SII i727 Skyrocket (4G LTE). It is not unlocked, has not been rooted and runs AT&T firmware. The phone was purchased independent of a contract (eBay). I am a very light user, but I find it convenient to have a data plan and initially used AT&T GoPhone prepaid. Phone and SMS worked properly on AT&T right away, but some tweaking was required to get data to work. After a few months, I switched to Consumer Cellular (AT&T MVNO). Again, data did not work at first, but CC's tech support gave me revised Access Point Name settings and all became as it should have been.
Recently (I don't remember exactly when, but it was in early or mid December), I finally gave in to the phone's insistence on updating to a later firmware version. From then on, I have been unable to get data to work at all. the 4G symbol no longer appears (although I doubt it was ever actually a 4G connection) and any App that requires a data connection (web, email, etc) complains about no connection. WiFi, on the other hand, works properly with all such Apps.
Here are the specifics of my phone:
Samsung SGH-I727
Android 4.04
Baseband Version I727UCLI3
Kernel Version:
3.0.8-1127534
[email protected]#1
SMPPREEMPT Thu Sep 27 23:12:45 KST 2012
2012Build number IMM76D.UCLI3
My questions are these:
Has anyone had this sort of problem (data on Consumer Cellular fails after upgrade)? If so, how did you solve it?
Was this problem caused by the upgrade? If not, what other issues might have caused it and how can they be corrected?
How can I revert the firmware to the previous version to confirm the cause and/or resolve it?
What else can I do to get my data connection back?
I am not particularly Android savvy, but I am not shy about making changes in settings and/or installing fixes.
Thanks,
Tenaya

Consumer Cellular APN settings for Skyrocket i727
I recently moved my service from AT&T to Consumer Cellular using my existing Samsung Skyrockets. The new phone signal is identical to that of the old as far as I can tell. (same towers) My issue came when trying to setup my text and data side of my Samsung Skyrocket. The settings provided by CC on their website are incomplete. Be prepared to speak with a 2nd level tech to accomplish all of the connections required on "their" end. Here are the APN settings that are working on my two i727's as of Jan 2014. Both are running 4.1.2
Name: Consumer Cellular
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: "66 . 209 . 11 . 32" (without spaces)
Port: 80
User name: Not set
Pasword: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http :// mmsc . cingular . com (without spaces)
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default,supl,mms,agps,fota
APN protocal: IPv4
Enable/disable APN: APN enabled (check)
Bearer: Unspecified
very helpful for my Skyrocket
Thanks for posting this. I had data working on my AT&T skyrocket, now used with Consumer Cellular, and then it stopped for no apparent reason. I had all the same settings as above, but on my phone the Authentication Type was unspecified or none. I changed it to PAP and now data is back. I don't know if I had never set this before, or if something changed it, but I'm glad it seems to be working again.
always when you format your phone, check the APN settings.
If it isn't configured you won't be able to surf.
happy to hear you fixed the issue.

While changing that setting did bring the data connection back to life, it seems to have disappeared again. I'm not sure why. When I turn airplane mode on and then off, data doesn't reconnect. When I reboot the phone it seems to connect after maybe 15 minutes of trying. Could it be a bad sim card? Or maybe should I do a complete reset of the phone? I don't see anyone else reporting these sorts of symptoms, so maybe it is specific to my phone.
Another option for Consumer Cellular APN settings
I just got off the phone (third time in a week) with a tech support person at CC. They said they think they knew the problem. Because the AT&T SGH-I727 skyrocket is 4G LTE capable, a new APN should be set up:
Name: ccilte
APN: ccdata
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default,mms,supl
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
I asked a couple of times if they really should be backslashes for Server and MMSC, rather than forward slashes. They insisted they should be backslashes, which is what I put in, and it worked, and then I changed them to forward slashes (which seems more appropriate) and that works too. That was weird, since I'd expect one to fail. So now I seem to get a data connection (it has been almost a day and it hasn't dropped data service). I even went in and out of airplane mode, turned wifi on and off, and data came right back, which never happened before. Hopefully this may help someone else who made the bumpy transition to Consumer Cellular.

[Q] Mobile Data - Disconnected on HTC One X

[RESOLVED] I just flashed the latest Clean ROM 6 R2 on my Rogers HTC One X and my Mobile Data is Disconnected even though it says 4G in the status bar with full reception. I also receive calls just fine.

I wanna try turning off LTE and keep the connection on 3G only, but can't find the option to do that either

Anyone else having this problem? Any insight on this issue would be nice as I love this ROM!
Hey! I just un-soft-bricked my phone only to run into this problem too! BUT I have fixed it! Seemed the APN was wiped for me and is probably the same for you. I added the following APN and boom, all fixed! LTE, 3G, w/e you want! This had all the settings here Hope this gets things running for you too!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I waited all day to see an MMS! Totally made my day!
Just a heads up, that fix I posted was buggy for me as that doesn't actually include the proper Rogers LTE settings so I had random disconnects during today. Hopefully you're not, but if you notice your connection to be spotty pm me and I can send you my updated apn setting for rogers LTE network.
Just a heads up, I am also having this issue and it seems to be with any AT&T based rom. I have a telus one x. Added Telus APN and flashing different radio did not fix my problem. I tried both clean rom V6 R2 and an AT&T stock rom. I have flashed viper without issues and Original Android roms work fine. I notice a few people having this issue and some seem to be able to resolve by adding APN while others cannot resolve the issue. I'm at work right now so I can't do much testing but I will when I get home this evening. If anyone else has anything to add or perhaps if someone knows how to fix the issue, you're two cents is welcome!
Thanks!
*Edit* It seems as though my issue was being caused due to TWRP 2.4 not wiping properly so I went back to 2.3.3 and did a clean wipe/flash and all works fine after entering APN settings.
COMPLETE FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM (worked for me):

Name: Rogers LTE
APN: ltemobile.apn
MMSC: http//mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
APN type: *
Bearer: Unspecified

After setting the above APN settings, your data should work. But in my case, I kept loosing signal frequently at random. The following step fixed that for me:
1. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
2. Select Phone Information
3. Under Set preferred network type: Select GSM auto (PRL)
Now my reception will go as low as one bar but it will never cut
Hope this helps!
