Y'all,
just wondering: is it possible to have video tones instead of ring tones on a WMDevice? any links or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
ciao

i suggest not using video tones. it'll eat your battery
Been using Vringo for seven months now. Since I updated to WM6.1, it hasn't been a big drain for me. My co-workers get a big kick out of the videos I put on there.

Here is the Kill Bill Nurse ringtone as above except I've converted it to WMA so that it will play on the xda. Simply put it in your windows/rings folder and you should be able to assign it as a ringtone from sound notifications.
Here are mine. I tend to alternate between the two depending on my mood.
My mail/sms tones...
Here are my nice tones...
the nokia tune blowing up at the end is cool!
my contribution; if you're a muppet show fan then you'd probably remember the song "manamana"...

Hi. I am considering swapping my (t)rusty XDA IIi for an Orbit 2 but was hoping someone could answer a question I have.
I would like to get a big juicy SD card to store say 6-8 GB of music etc. How good is the Music playing software supplied? I presume there are other ones you can install if the built-in ones aren't up to it.
More importantly though, is it possible to completely disable the touch screen while still playing music? I'd want to start off a playlist and then drop it in my pocket. I cannot do this with my IIi because the touch screen is always active while playing.
Cheers,
Paul

You can listen to the HTC Audio player or WMedia and switch off the phone. The music still plays. There area also applications like s2U floating around that also lock the screen from touch. I currently have the 4GB microSDHC and it is spacious.
Thanks Raskell - I'm pleased to hear that.
On the subject of music files, can you confirm that the built-in players can handle AAC+ ? I'm sure I saw this mentioned on a site somewhere.
Cheers,
Paul
I would like to know as well. Quite handy to use this phone as a MP3 too saves me from buying an iPod
Ycan also use this product i use it with artemis and is great for music and radio with the internal antenna
i will use it when i have my cruise also.
I just downloaded an AAC+ file. It played in WMP as a defauylt without a problem.
Hi XDA people,
This is my first post here, I have a HTC Touch HD standard rom and I love it! Has a bit of customising (thank you to the creative people here!).
My problem is the movies I have on my HD as of yesterday have lost their sound. I use the standard player through albums/video folder and it has always been fine. DIVX player has sound, system sounds and MP3's are fine. Volume controls work ok. All the video were converted using Video Converter v1.20 and has done a good job.
I have soft reset, taken out the mini SD card and replaced it, been through win 6.1 settings/systems and personal looking for anomaly's but cant see anything out of order.
Anyone with any advice as to what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated.. Thanking you in advance..

I tried it but was unable to get sms from vringo.com to see if it would work.
Let me know if you figure it out.
Vringo works but only with vringo buddies...which is limiting.. There is another soft which works better - Ringpro v.3.0 but it's paid (17 bugs). Good luck.
Hi, I am able tu use mp4 videos as ringtone, but I only hear the sound when the phone rings.
It would be nice if we could see the video as ring tone just like I can do with my SonyEricsson K800i
Hi, I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out how to do this. I figured out that VPlayer Beta will do this, but not in the background or with the screen off. I'm looking for a way to do this in the background and with the screen off, so I can just start it streaming, put headphones in, and still answer texts or put my phone (Nexus One, Cyanogen mod) in my pocket.
If anyone's able to help, I would appreciate it a LOT. Thank you so much.
P.S. And apparently I can't post any links... But anyways, I'm looking to stream something specifically. There's two version available, one is a Windows Media .asx file and the other is an "iPhone/iPad multitasking friendly" .m3u8 version.
