Our History of the World

Dear fellow Android users,
Soon, we'll be launching "Our History of the World", and we’d like you to take part - we are looking for early beta testers.
OHOW is a new community project that allows everyone to contribute to world history. Our world, our experiences, our history. OHOW uses geo-location to capture and search history, and is brought to you by the team behind Loccit.com - so we will hopefully be integrating Loccit's cross-social-platform technology into OHOW.
For too long, history has been written by politicians and academics, now, the rest of us, the 99% that actually create the history, can start democratically reporting what is really happening. We want a truthful and accurate record of regular folks passed on to future generations.
OHOW is a community-driven project, and as a member of this community you can expect a real say in the features and design of the app as it continues to evolve. We are planning to make OHOW open-source before too long.
=== COMPETITION: For those of you who get stuck in, we're running a competition whereby you win a free Photobook of your memories if you capture 100 moments (using photos from your computer or Facebook). ====
To download the app directly from: www (dot) ourhistoryoftheworld (dot) com (slash) beta
OHOW runs on Android 2.1+.
For bugs, feedback, queries email me at feedback (at) ourhistoryoftheworld (dot) com

[Q] Developer Required Mobile Rounds Application for MS Access Migration

Hi Folks, I am looking for a developer to help with some automation in my business, I have an MS Acces database which currently contains my customer details and rounds etc. I am looking to create an app which shows the operators in the streets a list of jobs for that day etc, and a job status Open/Closed, I would then like it to update the account & possibly create emails to the customers.
Though I have some database design I have not developed any App's, I would welcome a response from anyone who currently does this work.
UK based business
Is anyone interested in developing this App ? - Regards Nige

[Q] New to app development what next?

Hi All,
What OS and IDE and language would you recommend for me to create my first app in android?
I have been depending on an Microsoft excel sheet to do calculations for my wood working business but would like to create an android app for this that I can use at customer site.
My background is a BA in CS and finished with C++ right before Java became popular. I have not done any development since 1999 and that was in C on Linux.
I still love development but my career took me into Quality Assurance testing. Now I'm my own boss and starting my own business in woodworking which is my other passion.
So before I start investing time like I did in ASP.Net to create my site and then realized other languages are better to make my site look modern I don't want to do that mistake creating an app not choosing the correct(popular, or latest) OS, IDE or programming language.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
