Old Phone Software

I am currently using Dutty's Official 6.1 rom. I love the rom, and the speed associated with it however, I really miss the phone software that was used in his V3 and V4 roms.
Does anybody know if there's a cab of this version that I can install to overwrite the newer software?
Attatched is an image of the old software that I miss so..
**Edit**
Apparently it's called "HTC Dialer" I found a version that turns the background from red to blue, but the functionality is still the same as with the dialer on Dutty's 6.1 ROM.
just search google or XDA for what ever software you want its all here someplace or learn how to cook your own rom by reading the Wiki and cook everything you want in yourself. The search button is your friend not your enemy!!

Polaris - GPS unit missing !?

Hello !
I have a Polaris/TC with TomTom7 installed. It has worked fine but
suddenly when I try to use TomTom I got the message "GPS-unit missing"
I have downloaded "quick_GPS" several times, done soft reset, checked that
internal antenna is used in TT etc. but no luck !
Please help me with some ideas for toubleshooting, I realy liked my TomTom !
/Staffan
Hm, could be hardware error... or, hopefully, borked COM settings in TomTom.
So first try COM settings (check what settings TomTom requires).
Then try some other NAV software (any would be good, even freeware - there's a lot of them. Google Maps might do).
Then you might try pain-in-the-ass option of hard reset.
If after that it's not working, then only repair remains...
Thanks for answer my question.....
Im always in a hurry, so I uppdated my TC to wm 6.1 and after that
TomTom decided to work again ! (don´t ask me why)
BUT ! as an old guy (56) its not so easy to remember every thing, I forgot to
backup my phone...and my numbers to the sim-card
So I have had a nice evening recover all phone-numbers.....
I have another issue, I have eraesed the standard TomTom from
TC and installed a better one.
Now I how to get the shortcut for TT on the start/main screen ??
Ah... I'm not much younger (49), but as IT manager I ALWAYS do backup...
You have not erased TT (uninstalled, temporary... since it's part of official ROM. So it's gone untill next hard reset).
I use standard HTC Home plugin, so I added my GPS software (iGO) as one of the shortcuts on tab 3.
However, you can use Windows Commander Mobile to easily put shortcut to anything practically anywhere.
Or you can simply select TT and add it to Start menu instead of something else...
If I may ask, where did you get you version of WM 6.1 (HTC, XDA-Devs etc)? If XDA, which particular one of the various "cooked" (I think thats the term..) ROMs. I have been looking at upgrading recently and would value your opinon on the version you are using..
Cheers,
IJ
My WM 6.1 is from HTC site.
Since my device was never SIM-locked, I was able to upgrade existing 6.0 to 6.1.
I have heard that most SIM-locked devices were not allowed to upgrade from HTC site.
Have not yet tried cooked ROMs...
My opinion of upgrading to 6.1 is stated somewhere on this forum... just search for my posts...

Touch diamond2 iGO conflict google maps

HTC touch diamond2
I have tried installing iGO numerous times but can not get it to work, the first install seemed to work but when I tried to make it operate landscape clockwise it froze up never to work again. Every subsequent install fails even after hard reset.
I have been told by my iGO seller that it conflicts with google maps
How can I remove google maps? It wont let me. (if that is the problem)
Your (re)seller it's a sucker
IGO 8 and Google map don't have any conection...
Google Maps it's in the ROM and you can't uninstall it.
Try NavNGo Igo8 V8.3.2.64873 it's work very well.
The copy That I am having all the trouble with is
iGO8 v8.3.2.71348.
I have the same problem since I flashed my last ROM (TESS 3.3 - which is a great ROM after all).
Try another ROM because on my previous ROM it worked fine.
Later edit:
I'm coming back with more details.
I flashed Dutty Leo R4 and iGo worked very well.
Then I flashed TESS 3.4 (because I'm more comfortable with Manila 2.1) and iGo worked as well.
I don't know what's the difference between TESS 3.3 and 3.4 (Aman told us there's only some changes to Manila) but with the last version iGo works just fine.
It's not related to Google Maps anyway.
(iGo version is 8.3.2.97313)
Resller
I concur about the reseller
IGo and Google Maps have nothing in common. All the Igo software is only in the igo folder. I have tried every version of igo without problems

Getting an error
I installed the standalone eReader in my HTC HD2. When ever I run it, I get the below error;
the file 'HTCEBookList' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

I installed it in the Storage device. My HD2 has the original ROM installed with the following versions;
OS version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.66.415.3 (76641) WWE
Radio version: 2.06.51.07
Protocol version: 15.30.50.07U
What is not right for me?

I hard reset my device and now the eReader opens up. But like others, only shows the list and does not open the books. Nothing happens. It just flickers once and thats it.

YAY!!! The fixed one is working for me! I would like to thank Mr. X for the efforts put in, indagroove for the initiative of the project, steve0007 for this thread, patcat007 for the library, jmart518 & keithdupont from ppcgeeks, HTC for my HD2 (not whole heartedly as I paid for it), Mr. Bill Gates and his team for Windows Mobile 6.5, my parents for nagging me to study so I end up getting a job which can afford me a HD2 and some brains to install this thing, my dog for eating my homeworks, my sister for I don't know why, my wife for supporting me by nagging at me everytime some installation doesn't work and last but not least GOD for techonology...*sniff**sniff* i love you all!
the same here
very good application
I'm not getting an error message, but I'm not getting ebooks either.
When I open the program, it displays the fancy book list, but none of them will open. Adding a book of my own to the Reader-folder doesn't change the list of books either.
I'm on a stock 1.66 dutch ROM.
Too bad, I REALLY want this application...
I had the same problem but just found that if you install it to the device memory it works fine

I did install it to the device memory.
Could it be the dutch ROM? The program opens up fine, but won't open any books.
I have the same issue (on stock WWE 1.66 ROM) - the reader opens, but clicking on the book does nothing. Still, I'm really glad this has been released as a standalone and hope a new release or a new ROM will get it working. Still in love with ALReader in the meantime
I seem to only get the library message If I dont soft reset right after install. As for the other issue I do have to where adding books (using the ebooks indexer cab to add them) the books will display but not open. Using cdma VZW tp2 woth Latest Mighty Rom. Hopefully we can get some help on this.
same problem here. Installed the program, I can see the list of books but will not open them. using 1.66 asian shipped rom.
Exactly what I've been after!!
Fantastic work Mr X . This is exactly what I've been after. I've tried a few 3rd party ereaders and the B&N HTC eReader is IMHO the best reader out there for the HD2.
Now I can go back to my current favourite ROM (stock 1.66WWE)....at least until I can find a UK stock ROM with 576mb RAM enabled
troubleshooting
So neither this version or indagroove's version allow me to actually open the ebooks.
The program installs fine, opens fine into the list of ebooks, but clicking one of them does not open the ebook.
I'm on the dutch stock 1.66 ROM from HTC.
Was running Mobipocket as well, removing it doesn't change anything.
Other programs installed:
-CorePlayer
-Dutty's Task Manager
-LMT
-OpnMarket
-Sony Pictures Player
-Diagnosaurus
-MerckMedicus
So, let's do some troubleshooting:
If it works for you:
-What ROM are you using?
-Does it have the Documents tab installed?
-Are you running any other ebook readers as well?
If it doesn't work for you:
-What ROM are you using?
-Does it have the Documents tab installed?
-Are you running any other ebook readers as well?
-What other programs have you installed that might interfere?
UPDATE: ereader

From what I've read, it seems the standalone ereader cab only works with 2.xx ROMs and above, which makes it partially redundant since a lot of the cooked 2.xx ROMs already have it built in.
At Holy Bear's suggestion above, here ar my findings :- I reflashed my HD2 to 1.66 WWE stock ROM, installed .net 3.5 Framework, installed the ereader .cab to phone memory, installed the ebook indexer .cab. Ran the indexer, looked in my Multimedia folder to find the ebook reader, it was there, but with a standard (ie. unrecognised blue and white window icon instead of the proper eReader icon). It started up and displayed my full library, but wouldn't open any books.
Still a good job by Mr X...just a pity it's no good for me (he said selfishly...lol)
Oh well, the search continues for the perfect ROM
Call History Tab
hi guys,
I am making this thread, because I could not find any CAB to add only add Call History Tab on Manila. I found one, it works well, but it adds also htc reader + tv.... Do u know guys how to add Call History tab only. i hope i do not make some guys angry, because i make a request here. I do not know, where i could make such a request.

That sucks, especially as during the installation it changed all my HTC Sense home screen icons in the Start menu to generic white window pictures, like Calendar, Footprints, Music and Chainfire's HD2 3D Driver Patch icon. I have tried deleting them from the root folder but they just reappear when I soft reset.

- ROM 1.66.405.2 WWE, Manilla 2.5 1921.1619
- No
- Only AlReader, which doesn't 'hook' into anything, and I can't imagine causing issues
- Fairly few: Cookie's Mod, CorePlayer, S2P music player, TomTom
hi.. installed this on my omnia 2 with RFD's HD2 rom beta2... i installed the ereader cab and library manager... it opens fine, but like others, when i click on a book title, it doesnt open... hope somebody can fix this coz i really want it...
Same problem
Hi,
I have the 1.66 italian rom.
Same problem.
Maybe we need .NetCF 3.7 ???
I have 3.5 version installed.
Well, I'll hazard the guess that it only works with 2.xx ROMs based on the fact that it did work on my TP2 which has a 2.07 ROM, though even there it worked quite slowly.
on 1.48 it installs and loads, but as others have found i cannot actually open the book. Mobipocket runs fine.

[+++WARNING+++] CoPilot and HD2. [+++WARNING+++]

I hate to have to make such a thread, but ALK (the company that makes CoPilot) has informed me of something that they have neglected to mention to anyone purchasing CoPilot Live 8 for their HD2.
The HD2 specific version of CoPilot does NOT bring the map updates that CoPilot advertises
They mentioned that while they have come out with updates for their maps it's only for the REGULAR version of CoPilot. For now, the HD2 version (which I'm sure all HD2 users have purchased) does NOT come with this. So what does this mean? You would have to reinstall your CoPilot program as a normal GPS program. Meaning it would not function with NaviPanel and other HD2 specific software. They are not saying WHEN or even IF they will come out with the updates for the HD2 maps, but in my opinion it's not worth purchasing now until it's fully compatible.
In my own experience. I can't say I like it simply because the maps and searches that I've done (on Live Search for CoPilot) are WAAAAAY out of date. I was looking for a specific hospital when their "live search" gave me an address of where the hospital was almost 12 years ago. Not good and NO excuse for such lack of maintenance. I'll leave it up to people here to decide if they want to buy it or not.
Timely but a shame. I was about to buy this as I've got the UK Tmobile HD2 just this week and it hasn't got CoPilot on it at all. I thought I could get the HD2 version from ALK's website (I think I'd save a tenner) but now maybe I need to buy the full blown version. Are CoPilot's versions of maps easy to identify?
Well, I don´t use the Navipanel since it´s a pain ita to change the backcover everytime for the car-cradle, I´m better off with the Brodit-car-cradle.
I made some fuzz at ALK-Europe for the map-update (I bought the HD2-version in Dec. 2009) and they sent me the original Copilot8 cab for install on SDcard without charge. Now I run the regular version and have no update problem with the maps AND copilot doesn´t eat up my valuable Storage mem.
That's why I'm using the regular version of Copilot on my HD2.
And it works fine.
I indeed remember that when I tried Copilot special HD2 version (trial included in my original ROM) most of the maps were out of date and wrong.
I can't see any point is using the HD2 version, the regular is fine!
I bought cp 8 when It came out, before I even had a HD2, (but was using the test roms)
navipanel seems a gimmick to me, something that I tried once and never bothered with again.
Where are the maps located? In the Copilot folder, right ?
So why not download the regular Copilot version (2577 + Copilot) and then replace just the 2577 folder with the one dedicated to the HD2 (downloaded separately).
Just a suggestion. Could this possibly solve your problems?
@Phenomenon - can you tell me what version of Copilot you mean as a standard version? I'm using ver. 8.0.0.659 -
thanks
Where can I download the generic version of CoPilot? I'm hoping to free some memory, try out the newer maps and upload my tracks with CP Central. It's not that there's much difference between the 2 applications!

Mmm. It occurred to me too but I can't find it. I can download the HD2 version but not the generic. For the former I was sent a link to the full version and just have to enter my details and download the maps etc. that I bought. Getting the HD2 trial is easy too but I cannot find the other anywhere.
ALK have supplied the links to the generic version of CoPilot, together with instructions as to how to install both versions from scratch. They were very quick to reply. I still can't find a link on the website.
Does anyone who has tried the generic version know whether it is necessary to de-register the installed version before trying the device-independent application when re-installing to the same device?
iGO8 people, iGO8!!
I bought the CoPilot 8 Live for my Touch Pro and then changed to the HD2.
But, after I installed the regular CP8 I downloaded the HD2 update software "found link with google in UK" and installed, I have the HD2 version and I do get the map updates...
This does work fine as I've performed the same thing above several times while upgrading roms.
On another note, the website says you can't switch your license to Android from another OS ie: Windows Mobile.. but I'm going to try to deactivate my license on CP8 in Win Mob and reactivate in Android...who knows hopefully it will work...

I'm sure that the web site said it was alright to move between WM and Android when I bought CP8 some months ago. Moving to an iPhone was not possible. I'll see if I can find the page in my archive. I can't believe that I misread it. I think the text is ambiguous now but I'm fairly certain it has changed as well.
You might try contacting ALK and see what they have to say.
