I have the FUZE and periodically, when I do a soft reset, the phone does a few cycles of the white boot screen before it moves into the WinMo green screen. This obviously increases the time to reboot. I am using the stock AT&T ROM and Radio. The only 'deep' change I made was updating the TF3D with herg's manila clock v6 skin. It is not a rom-level change.
The white-to-green screen part of the boot should have nothing to do with the software I've installed on the device, right? I'm guessing that the unit needs to be exchanged, but before I go through that hassle, I wanted to learn from people here is this is
a) normal/expected behavior from a WinMo 6.1 Pro device
b) is it possible I did anything to create this problem? (again, no ROM or Radio changes made)
Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon

Hi all
i have a problem with the screen on an xda1. the bottom third of the screen is mis aligned when i tap it. i cannot run the 'align screen ' application cos i cant tap the system tab. is there a way to force this 'align screen ' prog to run (copy a file to start-up? or delete its config file??)
ive tried a hard reset and tested the screen in boot loader mode it seems ok.
TIA

ps imrunning xda developers rom v1.2
if it's only mis aligned that means you can manage to hit the right spot to start the "align screen" application ... and by hard reset the device will launch the "align screen" by default ... so, maybe you can clarify more on this problem
i cant tap anything in the bottom 3rd of the screen so i cant do a re align i do a hard reset but im running a non standard ROM so i dont get the automatic alignment during setup.
I hope this makes it clearer
Thank for the reply

Though I don't have a solution to your problem, I have experienced it with one of my other PDAs. I have an iPaq 5555 that all-of-a-sudden one day experienced exactly what you describe - the top of the screen seemed aligned, but the further down the screen you got, the further off the alignment was.
I tried an SR, no difference. Next I tried a HR followed by a restore from backup, no difference. Then I tried a HR with no restore and it worked properly. I then installed each of the programs that was loaded and it has worked correctly since.
While I'm not sure exactly what the cause was, it must have been some sort of OS or registry corruption because it was restored when the system was restored, but not when the system was re-loaded.
Since you seem to have a cooked ROM, I'm not sure how practical a step-by-step reload is, but maybe flashing a "bare" ROM might help you to determine if it's a hardware/OS/software issue. You should be able to cook one up in Lumpistefan's kitchen.
heard people here on the forum asking how to remove the hardreset align part (pretty bad idea if you ask me)
i suppose you could flash another rom on it then you could get it to align
if the version was the same you could even restore your backup
Thanks for the reply guys
im a bit nervous abot flashing the rom, i bought this of ebay with this rom and the only time i tried to flash my XDA2 it screwed it up and i had to send it for repair.
i know there are tools on the forum for fashing roms but what is the safest way : or what do you advise
i have no back- up for this device so we start with a clean sheet
TIA

Hi,
I have just upgraded my Blue Angel's (BA) ROM to the WM5 AKU3.5.2 R5 Rom Kitchen v2 last night, but start having issues already!
There are a couple of scenarios that I found the BA will hang at the startup screen when the Windows Mobile logo appears.
1. The first scenario was when I changed my battery. I turned off the screen, pull the battery out and replaced it. The BA hung!
2. I installed SPB Pocket Plus 3 and uses the embedded RESET function (icon) to restart the BA. Every single time I did it, the BA hung. (And I have tried more than 5 times. It really started to piss me off!)
The only solution that I can get back to the WM5 system was to give my BA a hard reset! The paid was to LOSE ALL the programs I have installed!
Has anyone experienced this before? What was wrong with it?! Did I do something ridiculously wrong or just another bug (a big one!) of the ROM? If it's a bug, anyone has a smarter way to get around it rather than hard resetting the BA before the fix comes out?
Many Thanks!

Spent hours on it!!!! Resolved by upgrading the ROM to the latest AKU3.5.2 R5 Rom Kitchen v2 and use the default setting with "BuildOS.exe".
Cheers
I've been loosely following the Kaiser Kitchen tut.
[ http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser ROM Kitchen Tutorial ]
And every time I try to cook something, the flash succeeds - however on the first boot it launches the 'Customizing' screen that installs all the stuff behind the scenes. After the customizing gets to 100% - the screen goes black. The keyboard lights stay on and my tilt is seemingly unresponsive until I do a soft reset. (In which everything works dandy)
I've tried to establish a baseline by disabling pretty much everything except the 'security warning' tweak for unsigned installers.
Any tips to find out what's going on? I'm going a little bonkers reflashing trying to figure out if it's a package or something with the OEM set from the tutorial.
I'm using the Alex.v5.WM61.HTC.3.03.ROM.Folders with the Alex.v5.1.OEM.Packages.fixed.again package set.
I managed to catch a glimpse of the status message on that 'customizing' screen - it said
'Resetting Device', and then again made the screen black with lit keyboard (Even with the tilt closed)
Are you using the HTC v3.03 base ROM by any chance?
Yes I am.
(few extra words to lemme post)
I got a feeling I should start downloading the 3.02's.
Any idea what the problem is and if there's a workaround?
Still got this happening with the 3.02 OEM set.
Any ideas?
Both ROMs (3.03 at least) have that bug. I ditched them and went to the 3.29 series (which i just released). Just reset the device and you'll be fine (you have to do that each time though).
Hello Everyone,
I have HTC Touch Pro 2 from T-Mobile (USA). I recently installed WM 6.5. I am having a very strange problem with my phone. Every so often the phone's clock gets "stuck". This seems to happen after I press the top button to turn off the screen. When I turn it on again, the time shows the same as before. It does start ticking again, but it seems that all the time the screen was off the clock was frozen. It is always a random amount, 22 min, 35 min, 2 hours, depending how much time have elapsed after the last time I had the screen active.
I have talked to HTC and T-Mobile and no one seems to even have heard of this problem before. It is always fun to be first to find a glitch
They suggested hard reset, which I did, but the problem persists.
So, my questions are:
1. Does anyone have ever heard of such issue?
2. If I install a different ROM, would that solve the problem? If so, can you point me to a good tutorial that helps newbies like me. I have never done it and I am a little confused. Do I need hard SPL (not sure what this is but I heard the term) or I can just install a different ROM?
BTW, T-Mobile were kind enough to give me the unlock code for my phone. I have not done it, because I do not have another SIM card handy, but if it is needed, I have it.
Thank you for your help,
Daniel
Welcome to forums
You must notice that any 6.5 ROM will use more RAM than 6.1, said that:
In most cases a cooked ROM is much better and faster than stock ROMĀ“s.
I would recommend you to choose a cooked ROM from our great Chefs
Instructions on how to here:

Once you learned how, go to ROM secton download, select and install your new ROM.
Enjoy!
Hey,
I installed CHT 1.8 yesterday on my HD2 with the latest 1.72 o2 rom.
It was working fine for the rest of the day and i switched the phone off and charged it overnight.
This morning, i switched it on usually and the lockscreen was white instead of black (i have the manilla unlock slider)
I fiddled around with the different settings and i cant seem to change the background colour.
Also, now when i lock the phone, the volume can be changed which is a problem when i put it on silent, lock it and put it in my pocket the volume button can accidentally be pressed and the phone put off silent. Usually when the phone is locked, everything is locked and you need to unlock it to change the volume. Is there a fix for this?
Thank you for your help!
This should be posted on the CHT 1.8 thread, not here. You will get the proper feed back there. Not flaming, just pointing you in the rite direction.
I also was having problems with CHT 1.8 lock screen. After doing some searching, I found this is a known issue. I removed 1.8 and reinstalled 1.7 till they can work out the bugs.
Cheers
I POSTED ABOUT THIS ON COOKIE THREAD. was told it was a known bug too, it apparently occurs when using landscape view. a fix will be made on the next update. (screen turning white issue)
Make sure that the wallpaper you've set for your lockscreen has a FULL english path !!!
for example Storage card/wallpapers/...
I understand your frustration, always always always... backup your device before doing any mods to your phone especially manila mods. There are dozens of devs working around the clock on their spare time, and not everything will be compatible with your version of wm 6.5/ 6.5.x... also once you have just the normal cht up and running, after you set your icon s in place, EXPORT!!! save these setting in case something gets messed up.
To uninstall CHT 1.8 do i have to do a hard reset? can someone give me a link to the step by step guide on how to do it properly?
When i was using CHT1.7 i had problems and uninstalled it leading to no hometab and had to hard reset it and use the normal sense.
Thanks for the help and ill post in the CHT forum next time
