BrainZapr Works! - General Topics

Hi guys!
I just wanted to know what you guys think of the BrainZapr software?
I must say that when I first found it I was a little bit skeptical, but after trying it I can honestly say that it really works! (For me at least!)
I have so far used the "Headache relief, Get to sleep, gentle focus, enhanced creativity and earth resonance"! And I think it works wonders!
So what is your experience about this software/technology if any?
If you still have not tried it, I would strongly suggest you to head over to their site and download a free trial, then let me know what you think!
Oh and no matter what you think, I am not working with them in any way, nor am I paid to say this! I just want to know what your opinions is on this technology!
Thanks!

Well I have to say that for study, I used it for some time now.
Just good things to say: it kept me concentrated as well as got rid of distractions of the environment.
To sleep its good too.
The other ones, I didn't test properly.
Just don't use it too loud because of ear permanent damage!
Cheers.

Sounds great that I am not the only one that think this is working!
Anyone else want to share their experience?

Anyone else?
Please I need your opinions on this!

I've tried the "Silent Sleep" and feels quite working! Haven't tried others module yet... The only thing is that once my phone's backlight's off, the sound is off as well V_V

[NO ROOT][DEV] IncredibleTorch

I've been working on a flashlight app for non-rooted phones. I have been able to recreate the one that costs $0.99 (I think? I'm not exactly sure, I don't own it.). Sadly, I have the same flaw. I can't get it to exit correctly, so you have to reboot. I'm still working on it, and haven't quite given up (although I think I have concluded this exploits a higher level bug that I just can't control).
6/17/10 - I think I've concluded there is no way to shut it off. I believe this is a bug in the camera software that allows this to happen. A method just hangs forever. (All of this is I think ) Sorry guys, you probably wont see anything better (w/o root).

Wow. Good job dude. I know its finicky but you usually only need the flash light to stay on. Oh well on the reboot to turn off. You'll figure it out. Really good job man.

Woo hoo, at least one person likes it! I've only gotten put down or no replies elsewhere. haha
I know this isn't fantastic or anything, but it's better than nothing in my eyes.
anything that helps the community is always appreciated. So ty very mucho
Yea I tried the same thing. Stuck at the exact same problem.
I am by no means an expert Android dev, but I have tons of .NET experience. I used the example in the SDK, then just added the parameters to turn on the LED when taking a picture. Then it freezes and it goes to hell from there.
I tried threading/etc. No luck, I stopped working on it. Plus now there is the root, so why not just do that and use the Lamppu Application.
Thanks for trying anyways
That's exactly where I am! takePicture just freezes after a few pictures I believe. I also tried threading, no luck.
But I don't have .NET experience, I'm just a noob.
Yeah, I know now there's root Lamppu is better, but I'm personally not rooted. I figured I'd just release it because no one else has except the guy who is trying to sell it... which is just rude lol.
werd ~!~ 10 more
thanks for trying on the app though! it just confirms that I need to get root on me phone! I dont know why ppl would bash your for contributing..fail/succeed..we all benefit. It's only from attempts that we learn how things work..im sure anyone in root dev can confirm that!

[Q] Voice Search not that accurate

Just picked up a 32gb version and noticed that the Voice Search function is not that accurate. Anyone have same experience? fix?
Voice recognition is horrible for me. Usually I get nothing even close. Often I just get a string of lol lol lol regardless of what I say. It feels like it is mocking me. On the other hand the voice recognition on my dinc is outstanding and never ceases to amaze me. I assume the mic on the Transformer is as bad or worse than the lousy speakers. I've given up on voice recognition on the Transformer. Overall my htc dinc out-performs the transformer as far as delivering a good user experience goes.
I appreciate your post as it is good to know it is not just a problem on my tablet. Anyone else?
Post script- That said, I still love the damn thing
This continues to really bother me as I am using the feature much more often on my phone. Of course it is most useful on the phone while driving, but it works so well on my phone that it would be great to have in my TF. I tried every version of English in the settings. I have made recordings and they sound is fine. I just cannot get any voice recognition. Often i get only one word from a sentence and that is incorrect.
Is anyone else having this problem?
no, just try to speak w/ wide mouth like people in India (try to smile while you speak, it will work, I guess you have something common speak problem)
I don't know what's up with you guys but it works fine for me. Actually it works great. It recognizes almost everything I say and even when I say some really oddball things that I wouldn't expect it to know it does. Really amazing algorithm they're employing on it.
Maybe your mics are defective? Have you guys tested to make sure sound recorder can even playback your voice? I remember a guy was on here a couple of weeks ago and he said the voice recorder didn't play anything back and it turned out the mic was broken.
That or maybe you're not pronouncing words correctly, may have an excessive accent or you're not following proper syntax.
I just tried this for the first time because of this thread...mine worked amazingly well.
I could only get it to get less than 100% when I tried to trip it up with:
Northeastern Pugs of the Himalayas.
It got "Northeaster bugs of the Himalayas" or something...just missed one word.
But things that I'd use for a real search....100% accuracy.

That's how it is on my phone, truly amazing. My phone also has an option for Google to collect voice samples and improve it more. Don't see that on TF.
Since my mic seems to work fine it must be some other problem on my tablet. Maybe if I ropt and flash another rom it will improve. I really don't want to have to rma.

Don't understand that last part but I'll give it a try!
voice recognition
I am having exactly the same problem, it works amazingly well on my phone, but it is worthless on the transformer. Did anyone ever figure out a solution?

[App] Power Switch - screen off by closing case

Guys, im the developer of Power Switch, an app that switches off your tablet's screen when you shut the case.
The main thread can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277712
Ive had reports of problems with the tab's light sensor, so would appreciate some debugging feedback.
You can use the lite version to test, it has all the features, but just wont save as much juice.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply here or in the main thread, i read both regularly!
Anything to report? Issues? Suggestions?
Working perfectly for me! Thanks, this is absolutely top class.
I made this app a long time ago, glad it still works perfectly on the original tab
I have bought your application just after fafrehugen have confirmed that it works fine. Very useful for me, working perfectly in GT Gingerbread Overcome 4,00 Edition.
Thank you.
Thank you. Please consider leaving a review on the market, that helps us a lot!
Hi ftgg99. Awesome work on this app!
After testing out the free version of Killswitch, I was unimpressed due to the lack of accuracy on the original Galaxy Tab. Because I like the idea so much, I began looking into the problem myself (I'd like such an app so much, I would have developed it myself), I found out that the problem was not your approach or your app, but the light sensor implementation on the Tab itself (if I remember correctly it only has three step values 5, 22 and some other thing like 60?)
Therefore I thought that using the Tab sensor to achieve this functionality was not possible due to the reduced level of control. To the point, I think that even with night-mode implemented, the number of false positives would simply be too great using just the three light sensor steps. Also, I found out that waking up the device would not be possible while in sleep mode and just turning the screen off was not acceptable.
However, looking at this thread, I decided to test the app again. I know that no matter how well you write the code you will not be able to overcome the limitations of the device hardware, so I wasn't expecting miracles. But after installing the app I was completely impressed with the level of maturity and stability of the app. Even with the light sensor constraints, the app is rock-solid and has no flaw whatsoever.
Therefore I decided to purchase Power Switch from the market to support your efforts. This app is great! Good code, flawless implementation and incredible stability. I don't really know if it will honestly come in handy during real life usage and how many false positives my sensors will generate until I'll be fed up with them altogether, but your code, Sir, is impeccable.
I take a bow and place my comment here in respect for your work and wish to congratulate you. Keep up the good work and thank you for this awesome app!
PS: Improvement suggestion - how about shake to respond to "sensor condition met" event? For example, on ambient light low event, a shake of the device could automatically select a default action like "do nothing" or "facedown only", instead of having to tap an option. Useful when reading or watching a movie.
Regards,
C.
Why thank you. Your kindness make me blush
Well, almost two weeks later, I'm back because I got fed up with the sensors :-D
The app is solid though, and it's a keeper. I'll definitely use it on my next tablet, but I'll make sure the sensor implementation on that device is at least decent first!
Congrats again for your app and I hope you'll continue to create great content for our devices.
Peace,
C.
Thank you.
Works really well for me, I just use night mode when the sensor doesnt have enough light differentiation!
Issues to report?
So, has anyone had a chance to do some testing?
Any issues to report?
So this doesn't work properly on the Galaxy Tab based on cheatman's and fafrehugen's responses right?
That's a shame that there's no prox sensor and the light sensor sucks, I would buy this in an instant if it worked reliably.

Which ROM is the best for multi-users?

Which ROM is best for multi-users? Me and the wife will be sharing my tablet now. She works on call at the her hospital and needs to stay there over night and I dont want to buy her, her own tablet right now. The last time I downloaded a ROM had multi-user on it but it had too many other issues. like didnt record sound on a video I was recording in a training class and HDMI out didnt work, it would just reboot the tablet when I hooked it up. Its been a while since I've tried out a new ROM, been busy 'n stuff. So i'm looking for advice on which ROM to go with. Thanks in advance!

How so? Thanks for the detailed reply. Troll. Why are there people like you that go around being useless? I didn't just describe all ROM's. I want multiuser so we can each have our own login. And I KNOW not all ROM's have the issues I explained above.

Years of playing the rom game. This is a great rom but dam this dont work or that dont work, its all about compromise of features. I have found great roms but did not like what it broke. So always went back to stock. Good luck in your search.

Oh I hear ya there for sure. I really wouldn't care if other things didn't work but we use the tablet to play shows on the tv via HDMI so that not working is a deal breaker. And the no sound while I was trying to record a class on protools was a shock to me... The one time I wanted to use it for something like that and there's no sound... Haha my luck. Aside from those two things I really don't care... So yes I agree... It is the ROM game. I always revert back to stock as well. But now I want multi user so the wife can use the tablet while being on call.

[APP][2.2+] Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster

When your phone is in your pocket, full volume notifications are necessary if you don't want to miss a message. But when you already have your phone out and unlocked, there's no need for them to be loud and annoying, especially if you're already using the app they originate from (e.g. message apps).
Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster lets you set custom notification volume levels for when your phone is asleep and when it's awake.
This is my first app, so I apologize for any issues it may have, but I hope people will find it useful. Either way, it's been nice to have just for myself!

Very useful app. Thank you!
Does this effect battery life at all? This is a great idea for an application. I hate when I almost crap my pants from a notification being too loud! I hope this app does well and has many more updates in the future.

I have an HTC Evo Design 4G which has atrocious battery life (carry around a spare in my wallet) and haven't noticed any decrease. I regularly check the battery use because I have to watch for things eating it up and it hasn't shown up yet!

Great and very usefull app Thanks for sharing
I've got a problem, when someone calls me, and my phone isn't in my pocket, but I'm not using it either, the screen turns on, so the phone goes vibrate mode, I don't know if can be fixed. Great app btw.
