90% battery??? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I'm using HTC Touch Pro for 2 weeks.
I've a new problem with the battery (beside slow charging and weak battery).
I always charge my pda overnight.
However, it will stop charging at 90%.
It is same either with the original charger or travel charger.
But if I disconnect and charge again, it may reach 100% sometime.
I have try hard reset, soft reset, battery tweaks and search in website but still no solution...
Please help!!!
Thanks for all your expert opinions and solutions!

Try flashing another rom/radio, and if that doesn´t help it might be a faulty battery!

You may also try completely discharging and recharging the battery once..

this worked for me. run it flat. recharge without using it and laying the phone on its front as charging onthe back makes it hot and gives false battery readings

Battery -6 hours charging - 49%! What is wrong?

I have another problem with battery. I charge TP for 6 hours. after that time it still showing CHARGING, round light bimkning and when I enter battery, it shows 50-70% and charging! when I make soft reset it show full and stop charging, anyone knows how to fix this?, I'm worring about my battery I have oryginal rom. Thanks for reply.
I know that it is in other tread but I try to find solution
Are you using the supplied charger?
This happened to me when I tried to charge it with a Motorola V3 charger.
yes, the original charger is one amper powered which is very strong, all other chargers I have in my car or whereever output much smaller amount in milliampers (starting from 200 mA even). BUT never forget that slower charging is always better to preserve battery durability

oryginal delivered with TP
How long did you charge it the very first time?
dificult to say, i thing over 8 hours, but battery is really ok, it keeps 2-4 days.
i think i got close to an hour wait for 3/4ths charge
so prob about an hour and a half for max???
I had this same problem yesterday. It was at 30% after 4 or 5 hours of charging, then after I reset it, it was at 100%...
had same prob. Fixed after hard reset

You sure you don't mean soft reset? some people make this mistake all the time and it makes for horrible advice to n00bs.

HARD reset help
I had this problem and was hesitant to do a hard resent and have to reload and re-enter all my settings.
Turns out I was charging through USB that was connected to a cheap hub that didn't supply enough power to charge the phone. Connecting my sync-USB cable straight to the computer fixed it all.
Silly oversight but it might help somebody with the same issue.
hmm, mine started doing this a few days ago...i do remember I used to have the usb charge hooked up directly to the computer but i noticed it was now connected to the usb hub. Let's hope hooking it directly to the computer fixes it...i can't rmember when i switched it to the hub ;p
EDIT:
yep, connecting it directly to the computer fixed it
Thanks!
even charging throught eh computer is slower than plugging it into teh wall. the usb charging only sends SOME of the power to the phone and therefore takes much more time than charging through a wall outlet...
Same thing happened to my wife's TP. Using Stock 1.90. When charging it would reach 85% and stop there irregardless of how many hours I charged it after that but after using the TP car charger it would resume the charge and reach 100%. So the TP would be normal for a few days and then the same problem would occur. Don't know why though but I would use the car charger to normalise it as soft resetting doesn't work.
Where as I'm using the Stock 5.05 euro without any probs....
i to have been having problems with battery life, and ive noticed as previously mentioned a significant differance between usb and mains charging. i charge my tp every night and last month i started to leave it on the usb rather than putting it on the mains in the bedroom. it was then i noticed a drastic drop in batterly life, after a full day at work (12hr approx) and average use ( txts/emails/games/vids) i wa left with only 10-15% battery. but when i returned to mains charging the same usage now leaves me with 45-55% battery. so now i just stick to mains charging through the night. just my 2 cents
This is what solved my problems...
Turn off your phone and plug it in to the wall, wait until it is fully charged. Then you can turn your phone on, and use it like you regularly would, but use it until you run out of battery, I mean 0%, it turns off randomly. Don't charge it again till it's fully drained.
Then fully charge it again, this time don't plug the phone back in until it reaches 1 or 2%.
Hope that helps!

yep, that's because the USB does not deliver the full power to teh device. that's why charging it via the supplied charger is much more efficient and powerful and lasts longer. USB should not be used to charge unless necessary for this reason
I had the same problem with I first got my Fuze. I even tried the ritual draining and recharging but nothing worked.
So I called AT&T and they swapped my battery for a new one. Problem solved.

this forbidding me from fully charging it and really a pain in the ass when i leave it to charge overnight while im sleeping but when i woke up i find that it freezed as it shows green even if i pull the charger wire from it till i soft rest again.
in this case i prevent to keep it on the charger for long time to fully charge because i fear to lose any phone call or anything during freezing.

Perhaps if you try to install another ROM could solve the problem
Hope it helps and good luck,
I'm having the same problem. Have tried 2 ROM. I'm using 3200 mah battery. I'm not really sure about this, but when I'm using the 1600 mah battery, it seems ok. I'll try again tonight charging with 1600 mah battery

I had this problem two times with two new batteries, I sent them back to the supplier, it's not a matter of ROM (tried on my Universal and on another Uni of a friend, same behaviour) it's a battery problem.
Marco.
yes it is battery problem, UNI won't wake up when full charging.
so make it not sleep when charging
try to change setting -> battery power
do not check on external power.
hope it work

I had similar problem, but it was ROM-related. Try re-flashing Tomal 8.2 and see if it solves it. Nothing to lose. If doesn't work - you know it has to be the battery.
I generally re-flash when problems appear, especially when you had the same ROM for some time. Solves most of things.
Best of luck

Or buy a new battery...
I had this problem, but my solution was a tad risky.
Try discharging the battery COMPLETELY, so letting the Universal die at 66%, then trying to turning it on after that until it simply will not turn on anymore. When you get to that stage, take your A/C charger and plug it into the Universal, allowing it to charge for 9-12hrs (overnight is good). Once it's fully charged (green light where the orange once was) take it off charge and see if that 66% goes any lower. Mine goes to about 12% before it dies now, which is a good day and a bit of charge for me on the stock battery. Not bad, considering I top it up everynight anyway.
The reason it is risky is because I've heard the batteries the Universal use don't like being completely discharged. Not sure on the technical reasons why, they just don't. So I'd consult another before trying this.
go universal's wiki and read the how to fix battery issues!
you may need to recallibrate your battery!
if you update your latest rom, with the battery not fully charged, you need to charge the battery to 100% and flash again you rom....
solution
dont mess! for the cost, buy a new battery. Batteries do wear out. If it is a fake one, they wear out even quicker.
Had the same problem myself, tried loads of stuff. In the end I also bought a new battery.
One thing you could do, is run your uni with out your SD card.
Thanx to you all for replying,
I think new battery suggestion is good, instead of taking nay risk.

universal battery not charging

hi all I have a problem
my universal battery is not charging ,after connectint to charger orange light glows and it battery status shows that the battery is charging but it cant be charged more than 5%,light remains orange but not being charged,I forgot to mention that I m using a charger with current rating of 550 mA.it was charging before, but not charging now having same problem with usb port charging ,what should be the problem
is my battery dead or some thing with my universal,
Does orignal charger solve the problem?
plzzzzzzzzz help?????????
what should i do?
Well charging with original charger is always the most recommended and trustable mode to preserve your batterry.
Alsoperhaps battery come to it´s end, try with another battery (original one!)
Have a look on Universal wiki there is a good tutorial of batteries that maybe can help you.

Most likely and more if it is not an original battery
Do the battery tests listed on the wiki
hi
universal use 1A charger
if use USB only, just have 500MA (not enough the charge the Battery)
I had a customer with identical problem and the cause was the battery. I ordered another battery and all went well - charging and working as it should.
its certainly a battery problem. there's nothing to do if even its wall or usb you are using, it simply varies the charging time. remember however the golden rule in battery charging, regularly using charger with higher rating than the recommended one could damage your battery.
my cent..
it is surely battery problem.
thanks all of you,
going to buy a new battery
once again thanks

[Q] Does not recognize battery

Hello everybody!
I have a tranformer tf101 with + / - 6 months of use. After being stopped a few weeks (drained battery) it no longer charge and the system does not recognize the battery. When I plug the charger he starts the boot and not charge the battery. In settings with the battery status is "unknown" and a question mark on top.
I've given a factory reset and nothing. Has also has opened the tablet and unplugged and plugged the battery again. I did a test trying to turn on the device without battery and it turned on like before, like when connected (interrogation and status unknown).
The charger is apparently working, coz is charging dock.
I can not send to warranty because I live in Brazil...
Can anyone give me a light? Have researched a lot and found nothing ...
Thank you all!
Try plugging it into a USB port on your PC and leave it plugged in overnight, turned off.

thanks for the reply! I've done it, one entire day on energy and other day directly to the USB... But nothing!
Well... It might be possible that the battery is busted from being discharged for so long.
Although... Does it work on battery or does it instantly die when you unplug it?
When I disconnect die instantly! But if is on dock, he stay on
Yeah sounds like the battery is busted then. It works from the dock because the dock acts as a charger for the tablet, just like the 'real' charger.
Strange how a battery with six months of use given problem.
Would if I try to put a higher charge on it (20v) and force her to reactivate might work?
Batteries only last so long, and yours sounds like it is shot.
It's very strange that yours went bad after such a short amount of time.
If the charger charges the dock but not the Transformer, then it's not the charger.
You could possibly buy a replacement battery and perform the surgery yourself.
Other than that, RMAing is the only thing that can be done.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
Software should not be the problem, right?
I'll try to overload the battery to see if she resurrects.
Then post the result!
thanks all for now!

It not that strange. Its not the age per se thats the issue here - its that it was discharged for so long. Once a battery reaches a certain level, it simply wont charge anymore.
Applying 20v will just blow the fuse in the TF, or worse - fry the whole thing... Dont do that
I read somewhere the fuse blows at 17v or something.
And even if we ignore the tablet for a second, applying higher voltage to the battery will just kill the few cells still alive.
And, in worst case, it can even cause the battery to explode, possibly starting a fire and/or damage a person. Although thats not likely with such a low over-volting as 20v. Im just trying to tell you not to put more voltage on a batter than its designed to get
The only way to 'possibly' repair a dead battery is to trickle-charge it, meaning applying a low voltage over a period of time.
Hello Goatshocker!
This charge 20V must be made directly to the battery and not in TF, it really would kill him! And it would be just a "scare" the battery in about 2 seconds only, the rest of the charge would be normally done after (15v). I've done this with cell phone battery several times!
As the battery is dead it seems, think it's the only option.
But before doing so I'll take you on an assistance to make sure it is the battery.

Ah yes, you are quite correct about that. I completely forgot about that method.
Yes, that might indeed work. But I would only do that as a last-resort, although you seem to be quite out of other alternatives
I took him in an assistance yesterday. Tomorrow should tell me the problem. Depending on the result already do the "scare" on battery.
then put the result here!

Unfortunately, the overcharging did not work! The battery was completely dead, not sure how this is possible! But it's a valuable tip! The battery dock is the same tablet. So I changed them and I was working with the tablet and dock only works on energy.
Can anyone advise me a reliable site to purchase this battery? The model is ASUS C21-EP101
