What is webview.dll file used for and can I delete it?
What about GAC_system.xml a few numbers(there is two different files)then .dll as the extension file. Is that also safe to delete?

don't delete stuff you don't know about.
webview.dll is required as an active-x control for some applications.. it is also considered to be a bad spyware thread coming from some websites.. so watch it.. don't download the file or play with it.
well it is already on my device so i guess i should not.

well..i do this little tutorial for people how dont know how to install the WM6...
first of all...you have do get this rom ROM_QTEK_S200_2.20.7.34_2.47.21_2.20.7.114_WWE ..install it

you have to extract the files you have inside to a folder...and change the name OS-WM6-RC7.nb to 80040000-OS.nb ...and copy to the same folder you have extract, this file :Rom_Upgrade.exe and the folder: rapi... (this files is in attachments) install it (execute Rom_Upgrade.exe) and have fun!

extract the file nk.nbf, how are inside the rar to a folder... copy NBF转NB_NBA.exe and typho5.exe (this files is in attachments) to the same folder you have extract...and run NBF转NB_NBA.exe ... they will convert, the file nk.nbf to this 80040000-OS.nb ... copy the file you have converted to another past... and copy this file :Rom_Upgrade.exe and the folder: rapi, to the folder you have put the converted file! and execute Rom_Upgrade.exe !!

I want to thank you for posting the instructions above.
I went through hell locating, downloading and trying so many different w6 roms.
I usually ended up at the 3 color screen or a failed install.
Although the first release of the chinese version for prophet installed easily I was unable to install the orwell file.
The chinese RC7 file was successfuly installed this morning through trial and error.
I tried the Qtek rom but it would not install on my device, so I had to use the RUU version.
The RC7 .nb and .nbf files refused to install with all known means.
I eventually renamed the files and started to make progress
Even then the install was full of error messages.
The worst thing is that very few posters on this forum have been of much help to those of us who are struggling with WM6 on the Prophet.
Those who had the files and the experience decided to be selfish!
I can understand the need for caution on the forum after Microsoft's warning , but if you go to the wizard or universal or magician threads they discuss WM6 freely, and links to downloads are flying all over.
So why are Prophet users treated like 2nd class citizens?
Ps. Now we need step by step instructions on adding the wwe .mui to convert RC7 into English.

I double confirm. Virus found in ALL the EXE files of Rom_Upgrade.zip (514.0 KB). Attached the image from NAV.
You need to check your PC for viruses.

I've downloaded and scanned the Prophet_CB_beta.rar mentioned, which I presumed to be from

Remove the file from your first post NOW!. There are 170+ download, gods know how many PC you've infected.
And strangely with all the proofs that it is infected with a virus, and you ARE still not removing it from your post. What's your intention?

So it means either the original rar archive was infected, or your computer infected them
Just DL'ed...Were the files replaced with clean ones now? Kaspersky doesn't reveal anything.

Hello, I have tried EVERYTHING.
I have tried putting down the parameters you guys gave me and even using the registry change cab, I've tried Xperia Tweak, I've tried J.S. Advanced Config, I even used a registry editor myself to fix my file associations problem.
But it is impossible for me to open the bookmark aka URL file.
Can someone help me?

You can only edit resourse files, we don't have the source for the program.... in other words, just about everything you can edit is in the the htchomesettings .xml (and the files it calls)

I am trying to create a cab file for some application (exe file) that I have.
I use WinCe cab manager ... I figured out how to create the cab, which I have then been able to install.
My question is - After installation, the program shortcut does not appear in the programs menu, both in the start menu or in the list to add quick launch icons.
(i can launch the program by navigating to it ...Program Files et al)
Can someone please help me, and let me know what I need to do to list it in the programs list??

Did you create a shortcut in Cab Manager? It does not do it automatically.
It might be easier to help if you post the cab so others can see how it's setup.

I want to know how to add post installation script at the end of cab installation.
Take finger keyboard for example - that runs its configuration tool right before the installation ends.
The reason I'm asking is because I have a cab that its post installation script screws up my device and I want to get rid of it.

SKtools has CAB manager, you can try it to mess with install prosess.
In my opinion your *.cab contains a *.000 file (setup.dll related).
I can help you demistify (MSCEInf see below) this *.cab !
What you (and I) want (and where most WM6> <WP7) phones break (read do(es) weird things) is when there's no setup_.xml from here most weird stuff happens
Example;
Thus something.cab consists of;
*.000
*.001
-
*.018
And
theother.cab consists of;
*.setup_.xml
*.001
-
*.018
My question to you is, does your CABinet file conatain a *.000 or just a setup_.xml file ?

A: Do some reading and a little bit more reading and some more and then trying to understand, do some combining, rereading, re_organizing, re_bookmarking, rereading etcetera..Then I start all over...
