How do I open Bookmarks in File Explorer/Total Commander? {WinMo 6.1 issue} - General Questions and Answers

Ooops, I am aware of the accidental double post, please delete it
Hello, I have tried EVERYTHING.
I have tried putting down the parameters you guys gave me and even using the registry change cab, I've tried Xperia Tweak, I've tried J.S. Advanced Config, I even used a registry editor myself to fix my file associations problem.
But it is impossible for me to open the bookmark aka URL file.
Can someone help me?
Is my only way to make URL files open via PIE or Opera Browser is to reformat and hardware reset my phone?
Can someone please give step by step guide to do this. Someone has helped me before but it seemed to do nothing.
When I click on any url file, it brings me to the associated browser but than it brings me to an error page, WHY DOES IT NOT BRING ME TO THE ONLINE WEBSITE?
People please tell me that it is possible to open saved/bookmarked links on a phone's file explorer!
Is it possible?

BUMP, Is it possible?

Can someone just tell me what happens when they open a url file? because it takes me two hours to reformat and setup my phone.

Bump? (please tell me if it is illegal for bumping)

I am still waiting for an answer LOL.

Where to download WM5 Messaging Client?

I've somehow goofed and deleted the default messenging client when I was trying out other alternatives. I ended up liking it better than the other solutions I tried and just want it back now. =\ Is there anywhere I can grab this (download, et cetera)? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Or, do I have to do a clean install to get it back? Is there a way to browse a ROM image to grab what I need from it? IE: the Messenging files only?
Thanks

In Total Commander or whatever file explorer you use
In the address bar, Type:
Extended_Rom
Click on the Signed_OzPocketPC.Cab file.
Thanks for the reply. I was able to browe my extended ROM just fine but that file is not in there. I'm on a Wizard using a clean ROM which I would assume has something to do it.
Thanks
There is a link in the wizard forum that has the cab attached. Do a search there or try the Howard Forums T-Mobile Windows Mobile forum. I'm sure you'll find it....
Edit...
Here you go, about 3 post down...

Thanks, I've been unable to find the CAB file as of yet but I will keep searching.
edit: Thanks!
if you mean msn messenger then they prob only removed the shortcut
try looking in the win dir for the exe

Autocomplete

Maybe it is another post again about the autocomplete function, but I can't find an answer. I like this auto complete function, but the problem is that once you do a hard reset or install a new rom that all user owned words (words that were added by the system when typing) are lost. These words should be somewhere in a file, but I don't find this file.
Does anyone know what the name of this file is and where to find it?
Using File Explorer go into your Windows directory on your phone and then go to menu and click 'view all files' and you'll see a file called 'autocorrect'. That's the file you need to alter. Copy it onto your PC desktop and save a copy somewhere safe just in case you do something stupid. Now open up a copy of it on your PC and you'll see two columns - the left column is the 'typo' and the right column is what it corrects it to. You can add or change things here. I made "pcm' autocorrect to 'please call me' for example and 'tx' to 'thanks'. When you save the file do not change the format (Windows tries to save it as an Excel file- don't do that - leave it as it is which i think is txt). Now you need to replace the file on your phone however it is a locked file. Use your registry editor (I use Total Commander) and find the autocorrect file and change the settings so you can alter it. Delete the file existing on your phone and replace it with the file you just altered. Once this is done you need to soft reset and everything will work.
If you get a new phone or need to hard reset just make sure you take this file along with you and you'll keep all of your settings.
Thanks for the response, but it is not the file I am looking for. This is the file which is used when you choose the autocorrect function. This is not the file that is suggesting words while you are typing. Anyway, thank you.

Need original Opera file

Hey everyone,
I got this phone yesterday, very familiar with Windows Mobile. I'm using the latest OEM TMobile ROM and I manually uninstalled applications since they're part of the ROM they don't show in remove programs. I installed Opera Mobile 10 and it's not working the way I want, the problem is that I've deleted ONE file belonging to the old opera, the one located in Windows\Start Menu\Programs, called "Opera Browser" or something. I don't want to do a hard reset just to get one file back, especially after having tweaked the phone so much. Can someone just upload the file here so that I can move it onto my phone?
Thank you so much for all your help.

[Q] local htm files

hello guys
if any one can tell me how to open local html files with internet explorer or opera mini in offline mode.
IE doesnt' seem to allow the file:// URI scheme, and (at least on stock ROMs) runs with so little permissions it's unable to see almost any files anyhow. Since you have Opera, you're presumably on a full-unlock custom ROM. You could try specifying the apth the file for Opera (or IE; I've never tried on a custom ROM). Either use file:///path/to/the/file.htm or \path\to\the\file.htm.
thank for the reply.but i tried to make that address i.e.169.132......to open an index html file located at root directory but nothing happen.if u give me some detail on this method it would be great.i read some questions at microsoft support but some code written in ms.studio and subsequent compilation could help.my rom is deepshining 7.3 and my phone is hd7
thanks in advance.
Waaaaait, you did what? Nothing in what you wrote looks like what I said you should try. You don't need to run any code, for example. You also shouldn't be entering an IP address, unless you're actually running a webserver on your phone.
If the file is called "index.htm" and is located in the phone's root directory ("\"), then you should have tried either "\index.htm" or "file://index.htm" or "file:///index.htm". These are standard ways to create a local-path URI
You could also try running a webserver, of course. The "Root Webserver" app linked in my signature will run just fine on your ROM. You'll need to make sure that it keeps running in the background (the "NoDehydrate" hack can help here, see my MultiTaskToggle app for an easy way to enable it), then run it, hit the Start button (not Back, as that would exit the webserver), load IE, and then go to 127.0.0.1. You'll need to move or copy the file to the webserver's "Content" folder, then go to 127.0.0.1/Content/index.htm.
thanks for the quick reply .i did not make any code but the question at ms.was about ability of applications to open local help files.
i will try the method u mentioned and reply asap.
i tried all posible paths but always "internal comun.error" in opera .i should give it a try using web server and tell u the result.thanks
