a my own homebrew Window mobile application.

So I did some programming a while back (like 10 years ago) on the PC...
Anyway, I want to create a simple app for Windows Mobile. Is there a free SDK or some sort of developer tools I can get somewhere?
Specifically, I want to make some sort of skin for the today screen that has a few icons on it. I want the icons, when tapped, to automatically play an audio or video file from my home server (the Windows Mobile device will be connected to my home network thru WiFi). The reason for this is that I have an iFit compatible treadmill, eliptical, and excersise bike. I want to create my own iFit workouts, save them on my home server, and use Pocket PC's as the "brains" of my exercise equipment...
Any ideas where I can find some developer tools to create such an app?
get
wm6 sdk google it
and visual studio 2008
Is there a way to get the WM6 SDK to work with VS2008 Express Edition? It's listed as incompatible and I can not get the the WM6 SDK installed with the Express edition installed.
Thank you.
dont believe so but you can develop .net for smart devices with espress i belive that would work

Hi All, I am new when it comes to windows mobile apps and I was wondering if anyone could help.
I have an application on my mobile which almost does everything I want. There are a few extra features I would like it to do and would like to have ago at creating them myself. Is there away that you can unpack a windows mobile app (like the exe file) to visual studio for editing or is this not possible?
Many Thanks
Windows Mobile EXEs are like any other windows executable files... These are binary compiled programs that you cannot just "edit" in a text editor.
If the program you want to modify is Open Source and if the software author allows to do so, then you'll have to modify the source, recompile the software and test it.
Basically, it's regular programming...
ok thanks for the help.
if it's .net then you can try giving reflector a go it can make .net exe's to c# code
Yup, but what you'll get won't always be understandable... If the software author obfuscated the code for example..
Hi Guys,
This is my 1st thread so please feel free to inform me if this thread is in the wrong forum .
I currently have a task to create a web application that can be accessed using the browser in the mobile i.e. iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile.
I have done the basic thing using Java J2EE and the web application is working just fine. However, I have some doubts.
1. In my web app, I have a jQuery autocomplete and jQuery calendar, will this work in all the mobile browsers? I know that jQuery has its own jQuery Mobile but as of now, I just wanted to use the same codes with my web application.
2. Later on, once this web app is working fine, we may start working on the native apps i.e. Android native apps, iPhone native apps and etc. Is there any framework or tools that I can use that will work on all the devices i.e. sharing a single common source codes instead of multiple version of source codes?
Thanks.
David
Good morning! I'm a software developer, and I'm searching the best solution to develop a business application that it can access to a database and can run it in any device, as Android, Iphone, PC, etc. I thought, I should use GWT and SmartGWT technology, because it can run into any device and can access to a server database. Furthermore, I thought use Android SDK and Ios SDK. What does you recommend me?
