S2U2/PocketShield not recognizing wake up? - General Questions and Answers

I originally had PocketShield running, but it all of a sudden stopped detecting the fact that I blank out the screen with the power button so that when I wake it, it doesn't lock. So I uninstalled and installed S2U2 and the same thing is happening here as well.
Is there some setting that's preventing these from recognizing the wake up using the power button?
Thanks in advance.

Can anyone help me on this?

Its probably something you installed, though i couldn't tell you what it is because i have no idea what you have instaled

Have you tried S2U2 1.40? I think A_C fixed a few bugs regarding that somewhere in 1.3X. Try it and give it a shot. Maybe something in your device changed (in the Registry). You might need to Hard Reset if you can't figure it out.

Yeah I've tried that and the only way it'll work is if I have it set to power off after a certain time period. Like I mentioned, it used to activate when I powered off/woke up.
I'd rather not have to hard reset, but does anyone know what the registry setting is that would have killed this?

What major changes have you done in your device since you noticed this?

I can't think of anything major. The only thing that I might have installed since then is Matt's Fuzeberry theme or installing Palringo.
Would there be a setting in Manila Customizer's tweaks have caused this?

Not that I can think of. Cross post your question in the S2U2 thread (or pm A_C, he might have an answer).

Why do WM6 ROM's revert to 24 hour time?

Does anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it? I've tried just about every ROM on here and it happens with all of them... All you cookers out there are doing awesome work, but I was curious whether anyone else had this problem. I can't tell if an application is causing it, I don't think that's the case. Even when I set regional settings to US it still happens after a day or so and once it does it won't return to 12 hour time. Any ideas?
fix the registry before you flash it and it won't

Crossbow Reloaded is set to h:mm:ss so its not military time by default. I think some are that way since the default base roms seem that way. I modified the faria base so the region was US and not military time by default.
Is there a list of all known registry tweaks (preferably with ones that work with WM6) somewhere that I've missed? Is this issue only fixable by changing this registry setting prior to a flash or can it be done after the fact? Thanks for all your help.
I'm not sure what you are asking... If you are on a ROM that defaults to military time, then just change it to h:mm:ss via Settings > System > Regional Settings > Time. In the drop down for the time format on the right side of the dropdown there are arrows. click the up arrow a couple of times and you will see the non-24 hour ones. Choose it and you are done. I've never seen it switch back after doing this on any WM6 rom, so no registry hacks are needed.
i use the following keys with my kitchen. I believe mun's latest rom is set to US 12hour by default but i'm not sure since i use these to force it
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides]
"IDate"="0"
"SDate"="/"
"SSDte"="MM/dd/yy"
"STFmt"="h:mm:ss:tt"
"STime"=":"
mfrazz nailed it. I wasn't aware of the other settings in the drop down menu. When I'd click on it it'd only show 2 options, it never occured to me to try scrolling through. Duhh... Only had my Wizard for a month now, came from modding Moto's so still getting familiar with the Windows Mobile OS. Should have known it was something so blatently obvious, thanks a lot everyone. Much appreciation and respect.

Sometimes i can't answer the phone

i have a strange problem and its the same as this one
http://www.everythingtreo.com/forum/treo-750/cant-answer-phone-on-750-a-11588.html
Sometimes when the phone ring i can push the green button or the softbutton but the phone didn't pick up. After a while the phone goes into voicemail.
The phone is working correctly after that and no soft reset is neccesary.
It looks like the problem has something to do whena lot off programmes are in the memory because it looked lit it happends more often with more programmes open.
Does anyone has an solution?

You should provide us with more info.
What apps do you have installed?
What apps are running when this occurs?
What tweaks did you make?
etc.
It's hard to say if it's because of the memory or due to a call filter program like MagiCall

You could try to remove PhoneWeaver or PhoneSuite, since they share some functionality...
Go into settings/owner information/options and make sure thetwo boxes in there are unchecked. There is a bug which will prevent you from being able to answer the phone properly if those two buttons are checked...

Let us know if this works, never heard of this
They are both uncheked already!
I had the same problem and in my case found out this happens when receiving an sms. The phone become unresponsive before the sms arrives, and this can last for several seconds. If you happen to receive a call in that period, you won't be able to answer.
Could not find a solution to this problem.
Try disabling voice commands as per the following:

Seemed to work for me.

Strange problem CANT ACCESS MESSAGING

When I try to get into my email or SMS on my touch pro nothing happens. Whether I do it from the Home Screen or the Start menu, there is no response when I try to open it. I've also had a couple of people send me texts and no ring nor vibrate.
I've never had this problem before. I've restarted the phone a bunch of times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Had the same thing this morning, a soft reset solved it for me though...
(ROMeOs V1.12)
Did you hard reset yet? What ROM are you running?

Are you using a taskmanager? If not, you should try to install one. I think messaging will probably still be running in the background and for some reason stuck there. That would also explain why you don't receive any notifys on new messages.
Just an idea. HTH
I Updated to ROMeOS1.22, and have had no problem since...
The Task manager did not show Messaging running though..
Mine did the same last night. Soft reset did not cure the problem. I had to power off / on.

may i know what sms task prog name? izzit tmail.exe?
today happen again, seem nothing wrong with tmail.exe from background. But i close the task, and i able to access my messaging again without soft reset.
make sure you have your email set to download the whole message because if you don't it will not allow you to open the emails. especially if it is set to the default 2k. This will stop you from even clicking on the message. hope this helps

Yes, tmail.exe is pocket outlook. So when this is still running in background that's exactly what I mentioned above. I had this problem once on my TyTN and I fixed it by using a task manager that really closes pocket outlook every time I press OK.

I thought I was doing something wrong to have this problem. It only happened a few times and only with sms. Glad to see a workaround.

You're welcome, glad I could help (at least a little)
I don't know another solution unfortunately. I bought HandySwitcher at that time and set it to close applications by default (which also worked with the hardware OK button). That way I never encountered the problem again.

Few questions on WM6.5

Hey guys, hopefully you can help me out with some of my queries on customizing wm6.5.
How can i set the lockscreen to be always lit, instead of dim on wakeup/lock. I cant find any backlight tab in the power settings. Is there anything in the registry for it?
What about the constant vibration on normal+vibration mode, can I have it set to the same ryhtmic vibration for manner mode? I know there's an app called VAlert, but is there any registry tweak for it? Also, can I stop the music/vibration for a text after I tap on the screen? As for now, it'll only stop if i press the End Key.
And one more thing, can I remove the BCC CC From to subject fields etc from Messaging. I seem to recall there's a tool for it but I cant remember what it's called.
Thanks =D

It may be under Start->Settings->Personal tab->Lock, or on my current ROM, Start->Settings->System tab->Power->Backlight, and there's a checkbox.

I think VAlert should use a registry tweak to do it. Not sure though... As to the second part, I don't think that's possible...

Not seen that... Although in 6.X ROMs messaging uses html based form creation, so have a look for email.htm or new_email.htm in \Windows, and see if there's anything discernible in there.
Just found something new that may be of interest for question one...

Thanks for all your replies.
I have checked the link you provided and tried what have been suggested but unfortunately they did not work. My LockLevel key kept going back to 0 after soft reset.
Well I might have to just use VAlert in the end. Will check out the email.htm too.

Right... Very odd. Did it work whilst LockLevel wasn't 0? If so, I can write a quick applet that sets it to whatever at startup.

Well, I am not sure if I needed to restart for it to be take effect or not, but it didnt work when I lock the phone after I edited the registry. Screen was still dimmed. So I am not sure if it was because it didnt work, or the registry change didnt take effect.

As far as I remember, the screen remains dim till you tap it... Does tapping it bring the screen back to normal brightness?
Yes when I tap it, it lights up. But what I am looking for, is for it to not dim in the first place, to have it light up once you turn it on.

Black screen where TF3D should be at startup..

I'm not sure what happened, but I've been noticing that now when I boot up my VZW TP2, the launching touchflo 3d screen pops up, then goes away and there is nothing but a black background and the windows taskbar.
The black screen looks like a program with an all black background and no text/content, it has an X in the upper right hand corner and I can click that X to reveal TF3D.. I can also click anywhere on the screen and/or END key and reveal TF3D.
This happens at startup every time now.
Things I've done since I noticed the problem;
Installed HDBoobs
Installed Diamond Halogram w/ ATi Graphics Driver
Put HTCAPI.dll in the \windows\ directory
Installed .NET CF 3.5
Installed Schap's Registry Editor
Installed J.S. Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3
Installed Ilium Software Screen Capture
Installed Windows Live (newest version)
Installed Microsoft Facebook Application
Did '7MP Panorama' Tweak
Did 'Reveal 5 Hidden Camera Settings' Tweak
Things I've done after noticing the problem;
Installed Microsoft ICS
Installed Garmin MobileXT
Did 'Close Opera with X instead of minimize' registry mod
Did 'ResProxy ShareMemSize=0' registry mod
Installed NoPushInternet
EDIT 1:
I've now removed;
'ResProxy ShareMemSize=0' registry mod (slowed me down too much)
HDBoobs
Diamond Halogram w/ ATi Graphics Driver
Nothing has changed.
EDIT 2:
I had it setup to be password protected. After removing the password option and soft-resetting, the problem is gone. Is this a bug? Is there a fix for this? I know it seems minuscule, but this isn't how it should work and I want to fix it
I'd like to avoid doing a hard reset if possible.. so any advice, other than 'ignore it' would be appreciated.
I think that I have the same thing happening. I don't think that it was like this out of the box, but I'm not sure when it started. Basically, my phone loads showing the taskbar at the top and the two soft keys at the bottom. Everything in between is black. If I touch the screen, then the TouchFlo stuff shows up. After that, it's fine.
I do have a lock code enabled. It was forced by an Exchange Server policy. Not sure if this "issue" arose at that point or not.
I asked the same question here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560636
Seems to be related to having the PIN lock enabled. I too am required to use this for work reasons, and have not found a way to get TF3D to display on boot up without having to touch the screen.

Here too
First I installed XDA shutdown to perform soft resets. Then the memmaid demo to further my efforts to be clean & mean. Just installed s-k-tools to my HTC Sprint Touch Pro 2 (because memmaid demo misreported my memory!)and after running clean I'm getting cprog.exe & sktools.exe errors and now "bluetooth stack failed to load" -my friggin bluetooth wont load. Only other non stock thing is Duttys disable push internet. Did I make a mistake in purchasing this tweakware? Can I rectify these situations without a hard reset? Somewhere along the way the black screen thing occurred too.

Do you have a password-required device lock setup? If so, and you're getting the black-screen issue just after you unlock your phone when you first boot it up (from an off state), then you're probably in the same boat as us..
