Hi,
I've just found this one on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ECELL-HIGH-CA...emQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262#ebayphotohosting
DO NOT BUY! LINK PRESERVED AS HISTORY
More than 20% bonus capacity in standard fit... Looks interesting (too cheap?).
Has someone already bought any battery from this seller?
Or anobody has exprience with this kind of unofficial battery?
Thanks for contribution.
Alex.
UPDATE: AT THIS TIME, ALMOST NOONE HAS RECEIVED ANY EXTENDED BATTERY FROM THIS SELLER (INCLUDING ME) SO BEWARE!
DON'T PURCHASE FROM THIS LIAR SELLER!
UPDATE: THEY ARE NOT SELLING 1100MAH BATTERIES BUT DOUBTLY 1000MAH WHICH ARE PROBABLY 900MAH, OR EVEN *IF LUCKY* REBADGED ORIGINAL HTC ONES
I also bought a car charger "for HTC Touch Diamond" with a standard mini-USB plug -> INCOMPATIBLE
And also badly designed screen protectors which don't cover the whole screen.
I feel mad!
And I feel also so sorry to have put so many people in this trap I felt in too.
Please accept my apologies.
NOTICE TO PEOPLE WHO'VE BOUGHT FROM THEM: DON'T HESITATE TO CLAIM VIA PAYPAL A FULL REFUND, YOU WILL BE INDEED REFUNDED, THEY ADMIT THEY DO BAD BUSINESS.
Hi!
I've just bought one to test it, I'll give you some feedback when I've received it
looks good, let us know how you get on
I pose the same question here... can the Touch Diamond and Sprint Touch Diamond use the same batteries such as this, or are they different?
Is it standard size or extended?

I've asked the seller ans this was the answer:
Regarding your inquiry, Our batteries are safe to use, identical in size & shape to the original manufacturer's batteries and far better value so this will definitely fit in the standard casing of the HTC Touch Diamond. Hope this helps. Kind Regards.

Kind of generic...
Thanks herbaliser54, I hope to read you shortly!
I'm ordering one too.

Cant wait for some real life tests because personaly I would be afraid that they just put different sticker on 900 or 1000mAh battery..
so this battery is better than the original one?
does anyone check i much longer this battery long then the orignial one?

This is the purpose of this thread! Go buy one (and a translator ) and tell us!
Or gently wait for kind members to report their experience
i have order one .... just waiting to test it!
Is there an objective way to accurately test battery life?
Spb Benchmark has some battery life benchmark.
Pick one and repeat it for each battery.
You can download it here: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/benchmark
It's free for personal use.
I've just bought one.
I live in spain, and they ship from UK, or so they say...
I'll leave feedback as soon as I can.
Just ordered one too and will let you all know what I think once I get it.
...Although I do think it is way toooooo cheap! There must be some sort of catch!
And please, don't forget to let us know about the GPS.
Some generic battery from ebay does not run GPS properly.
Thanks.
yes, gps test is very important.
1100 not´s poor power, i meant, for 900 to 1100...
battery makes out another 7-8 extra hours than the usual one

Hi hawwy,
Could you be more precise about this?
Are you talking about the battery specified in the first post?
If yes, is GPS working correctly? Can you do some benchmark if you have some time to?

Even just some more clarity from hawwy would be good. Have you got the new battery and are saying it lasts 7-8 hours extra than the original?
ive got one , and yes the gps works ,
and what do you mean benchmark?
I am just wondering, with what options/solutions would we be left, once the Non-removable battery of our beloved Moto G worns out in 1-2 year??

Send it to Motorola to get a replacement.
....and i guess that will be expensive. Another solution might be the day when you can get spare batteries for the MotoG.
If you have some technical talent it might be possible to solder the old out and the new in.
hmm, but i'm curious, what exactly one is supposed to do, once his/her mobiles Non-Removable battery starts giving signs/symptoms of dying out ??
I mean, I am afraid, if it leaves us with no other option but to change our phone
Dumping phone just only for the mere reason of battery getting worn out seems very pathetic and depressing to me.
Hope we have some better option.
For me it is sure. If the battery dries out one day, and if the motorola price is not good, i'll try it to do myself.
And i'm pretty sure, that motorola or any other non-motorola vendor will provide spare batteries. Why should they not?
If your screen is broken you'll also get a new screen. Maybe in 5 years there will be a lack of batteries for this model.
The battery is non-removable but by unscrewing a few screws goes take it out. The question whether it is somewhere to buy the same?
Some people have claimed that the battery IS removable, but you have to largely disassemble the phone, but this means it could be replaceable.
Personally though, the Moto G is a cheap phone and if the battery stops function, I'll probably just trow the phone away and buy a new phone.
Once again, personally, I change phones pretty regularly, as soon as I get bored with one or I find a new one I'm all hyped about, I will replace the phone.
Unless the battery fails during the warranty period, then I may consider replacing the battery.
Sure it is replaceable. Also the screen is replaceable and the motherboard also.
But officially it is not replaceable. And not every one is a techology nerd.
The battery is glued onto the motherboard components. And it is not soldered as i stated above.
And it is removeable with some careful efforts.
Here some teardown pics on a german website.

Well, to be honest. All of my phones have been going to my family, my dad now has my HTC 8X and my mom soon will walk around with the iOcean x7 (china phone). The Xperia Play has been used as a Car Navigation Device, up until the power button and touchscreen stopped working. I'm currently using my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 as a car navigation device. Even my Samsung i8910 Omnia HD from way back was still used up until last year, when I was using it as a AUX musicplayer in my car.
I'm not sure, but I think that even my Samsung U700 is still present somewhere in my house .
I know I said 'throw away', but looking back, I've actually never thrown one away. My moto G will most likely be going to a family member when I stop enjoying the phone. Come to think of it, I would rather sell my phone to one of those 'Give us you old phone and we re-use it' companies (zonzoo) then to throw it in the trash.
I see your point though and companies seem to want this behaviour. Especially samsung and apple, which only marginally improve on their latest phones.
:good:Then i'll allay:highfive:
Well it looks like it's able to be resurrected without a fine soldering iron. Hopefully the battery will last for three years. The old phone is now a guitar tuner.
I think if you anticipate the end of it's life cycle, the battery might be cheapest past the halfway point.
I wonder if the sdcard image could be dumped and copied to a larger new one.
In that article what i have posted is written that even if you could replace the memory it would not work,
because you can not copy the operating system (whatever they mean with it) from the original card to the new one.
For that you would need special hardware, which is used by manufacturers to flash memory.

It is not an SDcard it is an eMMC.

You're right...
battery is quite easy to remove even by a novice but if nobody provides us with a replacement battery to fit its not much use.
yeah, exactly.
hope somebody starts providing a replacement battery in near future.
Congratulations if you're one of the selected who got a free test unit from Zero Lemon! This is a placeholder for those who are getting the battery case from zero lemon and need to write a review. I will update this post once I have mine for a week and again in a month.
Title: Zero-Lemon Battery Case for the S6
This is my first time with a battery case for a phone. I've only seen a few for the various iPhones out there and have only seen one other on a Galaxy S III that seemed to work out but it seemed pretty cool to have the ability to have the extra charge. I was able to score a free one through XDA as long as I wrote a review about it. Here's what I have on Zero Lemons latest batter case for the S6.
Packaging: The packaging on with this unit is pretty basic. Box, cords, instruction manual, plastic coverings, the case and the battery. Once you get everything out it's time to figure out what this gaudy thing is and try to put it on your phone!
Setup: At first glance there was some slight confusion as to how this is supposed to go on your phone. My first thought (and from seeing other models) that the battery would be built into the case. In this version I was surprised to see that it's really an external battery that stays connected to your phone. So you have three pieces to the case. The Case, the power adapter, and the battery itself. Once you get everything connected the battery should rest slightly under the hunch of the rear facing camera in the back. At this point you're ready to slide the actual case over the phone and the battery. Starting from the bottom up: make sure you slide the bottom of the phone and the power adapter first. I couldn't imagine doing this any other way but I'm sure it'll be pretty difficult and could potentially damage your phone. Once you get the bottom figured out slip the top over and you're set!
Now for my review:
The Good: One thing you'll read over and over when researching the Galaxy S 6 is the constant complaint of less than stellar battery life. I don't tend to have an issue with it. The quick charging seems to make up for it. That aside, It is SUPER convenient to never need to worry about your phone dieing. I had a friend get married this weekend and I wanted to snap photos and take videos of the occasion. Normally I would worry about my phone staying alive through the night but by the end of the night (2 a.m.) after a full day of using my phone heavily, I still had two bars on my case battery and 90% on my phone. I would say thing really allows you to use your phone the way you want and not worry about anything. Unintended bonus: Because the battery is separate from the case, this can be used as an external battery for anything. All you need is a cable and you're good to go.
The bad: This thing is bulky. You could say "well what did you expect?" but still. This thing adds a lot of weight and bulk to a device that is just so pretty to look at. Since the case and the battery are separate- they're connected by a power adapter. I mentioned it before but it worries me that if I drop it, how much damage will it cause to my phone. It's hard to say but it's enough to not have this as my daily driver. Because there is a battery in the way of the back and the power port is taken over, NFC and QuickCharging are gone. When purchasing the phone that was one of the selling points and it's a bummer to have to give those up. I use NFC all the time for profiles (between home and work). I'm also a bit bummed that there wasn't an SD Card slot available in this. I think if they did that this could have been easily a daily driver for me. The extra space would totally trump the lack of NFC and Quick Charging.
TL;DR: Will I use this as my daily driver? No, unfortunately not. Will I use it when I go on vacation this summer? You bet. It's a really great way to make sure you're covered throughout the day to have fun and not stress over your battery being at 20% at noon.

I totally planned on it. There's been some general style chat going on and I'll for sure have it cleaned once the reviews start rolling in. Plus side, they're going to send me a 3500mAh rather than the 2800. So that's pretty awesome.

It's fairly common to have testers when new products come out. This is one reason I like to have the latest and greatest phones, free accessories for just a tiny bit of work. Leave them feedback, give them my opinion and a review of the product. I've gotta have at least 30+ different accessories laying around that I've acquired by reviewing things.

I got mine from Amazon for $20. It just came in yesterday. I think they delayed the shipment to put in the new U connector because mine has no issues staying on.
Unfortunately, I ran it down over the course of just a few hours yesterday! Well, I had skipped the step of charging it for 12 hours since when I plugged it in to the charger, it said it was full! So last night I charged overnight for about 12-13 hours.
We'll see how it holds up today. If you have any other questions about the case, I can try to answer them.
I'm kind of bummed out that they're abandoning the 2800mAh early adopters and skipping straight to 3500. I wonder if they'll ship the people who bought the first gen product the new revision.

Don't worry man. It can serve as a pre-hype thread for now! I'm going to have a mod clean it up once reviews start rolling in
Review added.
I'll go ahead and post my review as well.
I got mine on Thursday, so had all weekend to use it. It was a busy weekend and limited access to a charger, so I found the case really useful, especially on Sunday. I like having it as it really provides peace of mind for battery life. I was with a group of people on Sun, and a few of them had their battery go out by the end of the afternoon. Not me. With the Zerolemon case, I had plenty of power to spare.
The case does provide protection to the camera (the camera is recessed quite a bit), but also a small lip on the front so that the screen is protected as well.
The case is bulky, and weighs a bit, as expected, but actually wasn't too bad. I had no problems carrying the phone/case in my jeans pocket. The only other con I can think of is that you can't use wireless charging with the case. Not a huge deal, as you hardly ever need to charge with all of this extra battery power.
Having the extra battery power to me is worth it. This is a great case to have when you are on vacation or know that you will be away from a power source for a while.
Hello!
I appreciate all the threads where people post screenshots of their amazing battery life because they've disabled a bunch of apps, underclocked etc... but thank you for for not posting those kinds of responses to this query.
My understanding of mobile phone batteries is that they're Lithium Ion.... they're all the same chemical compounds, and newer phones just happen to last longer because the batteries are newer, or slightly larger. Am I wrong?
What hope might there be for an old Galaxy S2 with a new battery.... or does buying a new device really make that much of a difference to battery life?
I've replaced my battery several times, it's very hard to know if I'm buying a genuine one, or if the "high capacity" generic batteries are all consistently rubbish (I've been through about 8 batteries in both categories).
If there's spme amazing hardware breakthrough that the newer phones use, I'd love to read about it. Conversely, if a galaxy S 3,4,5,6.... is going to go through batteries in the same way- I'd like to know that before I buy some shiny new false hope.
Thanks for your help!!
anyone?
Thread was moved... does that mean nobody will see it? :-/
.... edit: yep.... seems I've been swept under the stairs.
Right now I have an LG G3 and had a great deal of fun with it. However, with a recent job change I need to get a new phone for business only, and between the cracked glass on my G3 and abysmal battery life and charging problems (it's the original battery) it's starting to interfere with my job.
Right now I'm looking for a good android phone that just has a snappy CPU, decent amount of RAM, and above-all a good battery life (I'll probably have to consider an aftermarket extended battery but the last one I used was a Seidio for my HTC Droid Incredible years ago so suggestions on that would be welcome as well.
After doing some research it seems the G4 overheats and has the same battery issues, the Samsung S6 is still $400, and various other problems I've run into.
Basically I need a CDMA smartphone I can stick my Verizon SIM in and be ready to go. Don't really need to pay $400-$600 so I'm looking around the $200+/- range so any suggestions or recommendations on personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
