I want to listen to mp3 on a headset in imate pocket pc - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have an imate pocket pc with custom wm2005 installed. The question i have is how can i listen to mp3s on a headset? second where can i get the headset ot do this( i live in canada) and third if it is possible...will it use up a lot of battery life and if it does is there a fix?

it's unclear what you request
a bluetooth headset or wires?
normaly any wired headset automaticly
direct all sound to it when connected
also mp3 and if one blank the screen
it dont use that much power

so all the sound will go straight to the headset? k. thanks. But where can i get a set of wired headset cause the imate headset port is too small for normal 3.5mm headset port ( i live in canada). and i didnt understand about the mp3 player part. Iam really srry i didnt explain my question properly earlier. Im bad at explaining.

Transfer Sound to Buletooth Headset?

Only when you receive or make a call, the voice then, will be transferred to the buletooth headset. My question is: is it possible to active it at other time other than makeing call? Thus we can use our Voice Dial softwares and listen music from XDA II.
It only can transfer the voice during the phone call to BT headset. I think O2 need to modify the Bluetooth driver to support more function on BT section (like iPAQ PPC, compaq updated the BT Driver to support listen the music on BT Headset).
Hope can heard O2 to modify the BT driver very soon, otherwise my Bt headset for O2 is not very useful !
I think except voice command, there is no missing fuction for using BT headset right now, since the quality of the speaker is horrible for listen music.
I really don't know why everyone asking for listen MP3 with BT Headset with XDA2. Is that people really enjoy listen music with one ear and low qaulity?
The XDA II has the ability to automatically answer a call after a variable number of rings to be set. However, I believe that this option only functions with the headset plug installed and then probably the BT headset won't work. Or does anyone has another idea?
Is it possible to change the register, so you can automatically transfer the call without having the plug in?

Well some people would like to have audio via Bluetooth to be able to hear Tomtom navigator over the speakers ?
Also, the SPEAKER of the XDA might be bad, that doesn't mean the audio out is bad. With a good speaker or headset quality could be al lot better...
If you use the XDA Adaptor Jabra kit for the XDA1 in the earphone socket it works fine, but if you use the headset with the direct bluetooth connection, then it doesn't.
Bluetooth Music ?
I believe that the bandwith of a Bluetooth Audio connection is far to limited to support anything resembling HiFi, not much point in listening to MP3 music that way.
For TomTom, or my Korean Language MP3 tutorial files, it should be fine though.
Luckily, the speaker is far louder than on my IPAQ 5450 going on sale, so I don't really need external speaker for TomTom.

Obvious, your not useing any of the build-in BT functions are you .
You're just getting wired audio out from the XDA/MDA. You could do that with the XDA I also, i didn't buy and XDA II for that !

Wired headset and Wired headphones

Did a search and couldn't find anything so here goes a simple question: If you have a wired headset that works for the phone. Can you also use it to listen to mp3 or other audio files on the XDA II? Or do u need 2 pieces of equipment to carry around?
:?:
when it's wired it works for both phone and music
but not all wired headsets have mics which work on the xda2
prob because of the wiring differ from phone to phone
thanks I have a wired headset with audio in one ear bud. Then this will work for mp3 files/audio files as well? I will try it right now. Do i need to specify speaker/headphones in the audio system or does it revert to the headset when it is plugged in?
thanks again.
stereo headset but mono sound
Hi there,
I just bought an original O2 XDAIIs headset but realise that I only got mono sound.
I am running WM5 - WWE 2.01a 64 and radio 1.19 on Himalaya.
Is there anything wrong with the software or hardware or do I need a patch for it?
Thanks in advance!

Listen to music from Window Media Player via Bluetooth Heads

Great to see there is dedicated forum for Tornado (or Dopod 577w in Taiwan).
I have a problem with the Bluetooth of this device. I was connected the Tornado via USB cable to my PC which then i was able to access internet on my Tornado. I opened up a live-radio by Window Media and it plays the sound from the speaker of the Tornado. Then I connect my i-tech bluetooth headset, trying my luck to listen to the live-radio via the headset and...bingo it worked. The headset was then running out of battery and I disconnected it for charging up.
After that i reconnect the headset but it doesn't work anymore. Once I press the button on the headset to gain connection it goes to the "Voice Dail" and during that period I was able to listen to what the Window Media plays but after the recognising period it shuts the sounds and plays by the speaker of the phone.
Anyone has any clue?? Thanks
Sorry guys it works now with the attached software
I don't know what compatibility is like, it's written for the PPC, but VJVolubilis with -agon should do this.

Thanks for the link
It works on the Magician, (it activates the bluetooth) on my parrot handfree on my car, but the music from the WMP is not sent to the bluetooth device.

i think its obvious....uhhh...where is the mic. mate???
Plugging in a headset like cord (any 3.5) disables the device mic, you need an adapter (search the uni accessories section of the forums).

Well i use it with my htc wizard and it works just fine...
now as for the jasjar, the strange thing is that i can use
ms voice command when the cable is pluged in....if the
mic is disabled when the cable is pluged in then ms voice command
shouldn't be able to pick up anything iam saying but it does
Universal/Jasjar
If you connect a jasjar to a stereo jack, you will activate the headset profile on the phone automatically, witch means that you will not be able to use your onboard mic for phone calls, You can always try and use your handsfree's headset wire that came with your phone and modify the wiring on that, if you know how...Cheers
Thanks for all your replys you guys,
Is there a way to deactivate the headset profile when a 3.5 stereo cable is plugged in??? pls let me know
Thanks

Hi,
Use a mono jack and you will get audio from the car speakers and the Uni will use the built in mic.
It worked fine for me when I first got my Uni, but now I have bluetooth on the stereo, but better.

bluetooth remote for the phone?

hi guys.. this isn't fpecificaly for the SGS but i dont know where to post it.
Does anyone know if a remote for the android phone exists that works like this:
the remote should have buttons to control the music( play/resume, stop, next, volume etc...) and have call buttons( but not necesery).
I would use it in my car and when i listen to music and my phone is in my pocket
im not interested in a bluetooth headset
if anyone can tell me a remote like this, i would apreciate it
Why dont you use a A2DP Bluetooth clip ?? How are you going to connect your phone to the car audio system ? You cant simply connect through the auxiliary input and receive calls at the same time. There is a bug in Galaxy S preventing redirecting calls to over a standard 3.5mm cable. You need one with a built in mic. Thats why its better to use a BT clip type headset.
Or you can use something like this : Sony Ericsson LiveView™
Not available in UK :'(
