I love the stock ezinput keyboard on my HD, but only in portrait mode.
In lanscape, it's rather awkward to use - buttons are too small, I don't see what I type etc. Spb Keyboard is much better.
So would it be possible to make the Spb keyboard the one for landscape, and ezinput for portrait modes?
One idea I had was to substitute Full QWERTY with spb keyboard in the registry. I tried to replace the path to dll, replacing ezinput.dll with spbkeyboard.dll (or whatever it was called), but it didn't work - all I got was the stock MS keyboard after rotating to lanscape.
So it's not that easy. Any ideas?
went ahead and moved you to your own thread in Q&A Section, you will get more attention here

been looking for this - not sure if it exist for Kaiser, it used to exist for other smartphones...just can't remember what it was called;
It's basically a replacement for the on screen keyboard - when you select the keyboard you get a transparent keyboard that fills the whole screen, so makes it easier to type with - and ya don't have to use a pointer or the keyboard itself...handy for one hand action.
Any thoughts if there is anything like that around now and what it's called, or if it's in a cab?
Hi everyone!
I've got a little problem with Resco Keyboard Pro v.5.00.
I have a MDA Pro with WM6.0 installed and VGA at full resolution.
Since now I used a keyboard called "VGA large keyboard" from kotetu (found here), but after a soft reset the standard keyboard comes back and I have to manually select the other one.
So I switched to Resco Keyboard. But, even if it stays as the default keyboard, everytime I make a soft reset the keyboard appears small (as the standard one from wm6).
If I reinstall it, it is as big as the kotetu's one.
Also, it takes a wrong char dimension. In the registry is saved half the value I put in the options... And a 8 points char on a VGA is too small!!!
Is there a way to fix the keyb dimension?
Thank you...
Seems that it was the wrong skin. I download directly from the keyboard option a red skin, but it's a QVga skin!!! Sorry for the mistake.
Now I have to find a red vga one!
Hi,
I'm looking for an alternative keyboard with a similar layout to that of the default windows keyboard.
To be specific:
- Standard QWERTY keyboard with keys arranged like a normal keyboard (not aligned vertically; ie must be zig-zag)
- Vertical height should similar to the default keyboard
- *Must* have numbers and punctuations visible on the default layout (ie, I shouldn't have to change to a different layout just for pressing a friggin "." like I have to do in PCM)
- Should have Ctrl, Shift/Caps keys on the default layout
- Should support gestures (like for backspace, space, caps etc)
Of course, all the above are the features of the standard keyboard. But the reason why I'm looking for an alternative keyboard is due to the lack of:
- Skins
- Word/Phrase Prediction

In case no such keyboard exists, I'm willing to settle for a T9 keyboard which works exactly like that of a mobile, where it's easy to switch between numbers/alpha/custom words at the press of a button. So for eg, if I want to enter "dexter", I should be able to press the keys in the sequence "def", "def" (twice), "wxyz" (twice), "tuv" , "def" (twice), "pqrs" (thrice). The word should then be automatically added to the dictionary (or prompted to). (All the T9 keyboards I've tried, like TouchPal, are inconvenient to use for typing non-dictionary words ). Oh, and once again, the vertical height of the keyboard should be as small as possible.
My OS is WM6 on a 201Mhz/48MiB PPCPE.
Thanks for your time.
Regards,

if you use a different layout to the default pcm keyboard then you can see the full stop aswell as the qwerty and as for having numbers and qwerty at the same time with them being a good size is a bit mental. id recomend getting pcm and getting the theme skin called 2many iclone. the is a layout called 2many., this makes the comma and period visible. and its skinnable. and fyi if you hold down on the 123 button itll pop up with the numbers for you
try the htc keyboards (such as the opal ones)
idea 1: on orientation change, set keyboard.
unfortunately, swype is unreasonable to try to use in landscape mode (for me, at least) and isn't that great as a tap-to-type keyboard. given the amount of people that love swype, would it be possible to somehow set swype to be the keyboard ONLY in portrait mode, but when switched to landscape mode, change the keyboard to another keyboard? maybe the htc ime or the droid x keyboard whenever it gets ported reliably?
idea 2: i use slidescreen (pro) and i love it. it keeps things organized and central for me so that i can easily manage everything. unfortunately i lose the benefit of the regular launcher features. how difficult is it to add a handler for a double-tap of the home button to launch [an app of your choice] adw.launcher?
ideas, comments, suggestions?
if nothing else...how can i go about figuring out how to implement it myself?
For number 2, try either quick desk, or power strip, in the market.
I'm almost certain this is not possible because of the major differences between the two, but I want to be shot down and told it can't be done so I can rest better.
I love Swype in portrait mode but occasionally switch between landscape mode. For me, because of the size of the screen, using swype in landscape is slower then finger pecking.
Would it be possible to have one keyboard set where swype was the default in portrait and the htc 2.2 keyboard was default in landscape... ?
I dont think it can be done, but you do know you can type regularly with swype, too, right? I mean, you can use it as the regular pecking keyboard in landscape also.
