XDA App Development

I was wondering if there would ever be an XDA application available to android on the market. Seems like it would be pretty sweet.
Anyone else think so?
Any developers out there that would like to give this a go?
well umm, its an alright idea, but since i own a nexus, browsing http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=556 is rather easy and fast with even low 3g signal
I understand its available to view on the nexus, I have one and it does do a good job for viewing. Just thought a native app would be nice to have.
It actually came out, Congrats to XDA for this milestone
yea i just downloaded it earlier this morning
its great in concept but it takes way to long to load the thread lists.
http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/official-xda-developers-android-app-released-today/
i am typing on the official xda app right now and it works much faster to ne on my n1 than going through the browser. its funny how android got a workable official app before winmo did
Sent from my Nexus One using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
yea I saw it on a Sig searched xda on the market and now I'm a happy camper. typing from the xda app right now
Never mind.. I was stupid for a second there.

This right here is the only reason I will not use this app. I don't need everyone knowing that I used the app to post on the site. Obviously if I posted I know about the website, and the only reason someone would use the app is if they liked xda developers, or simply wanted to post here.
So why do we need the extra notification, legal purposes? Advertisement? Credit?

Oh my gawd.. sorry for such harsh complaining without investigating. Now I will use the app, lol.
ya, i turned my off
I don't think I see the point to this. Wouldn't a mobile version of the webpage be enough for this? I certainly wouldn't want a separate app for every forum I visit.
Excellent. Worth downloading.
Wow, very nice app !!

you didn't rate the app on the marketplace before figuring this out, did you?
Is there any way to make it so that when you tap the Forums tab, that it goes to the Nexus One forum by default so we don't have to scroll through the list to find it?

[RQ] XDA app for HD2

Hello there, I was wondering if there is a XDA site app for the WinMo on HTC HD2.
I've seen some line below the posts of some people so there is one. Tho I only can find a app for Android.
Is there by any chance a WinMo app?
Running serval search commands on the forum doesnt come up with any usefull post.

I'm sure there was an app in development, I saw a news item on the XDA front page, quite some time ago. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore. It would be great indeed to have it for WM.

Sincerely,
Mac
Yes that would be great!
I seccond this BIGTIME!!!
Please make on, it's very hard to read XDA forums on any browser available.
I found something: XDApp. Not sure whether it's still being developed, but I knew I saw something, somewhere. Maybe we should all head over to that thread and try to stimulate the developer?
Sincerely,
Mac
I tried one few months ago.but hang very often.so I deleted.sorry forgot the name.
Would love to have an xda app for winmo! Love the one on android & going on opera to the site, but would love this option also.

[Q] XDA-market

Can't we make our own market for all the android apps that are on this forum. Where every XDA member could post their own apps. Something like a 'XDA-market' or something like that.
Or is this bad for androids own market?
Tbo-art
Sounds like a good idea, a lot of work for the server and a robust client however. But this would be good for the small things that change a lot, plus insulates small devs from a dev fee from Google for small apps they don't see as having a heavy distribution or such.
what would the advantage of XDA market be, over the other markets, like MobiHand, GetJar etc. ?

You could put in only XDA members apps and also rom's without searching the hole forum for it. And you can restrict it for developers only. That way they can work easily with developers only. It would be easier to get beta testers this way.
WOW! I think this is an awesome idea, I can't believe no one has done this already, we have some talented devs here that do ALOT of stuff that they only release for XDA members. I would love to see this happen, having all XDA apps AND roms in one "market" specifically for XDA members and devs, I say add a poll to this thread OP, lets see how many of us would use this
it's a great idea! I'ld like to contribute to this project.
Rather than a separate market, how about a forum where the *only* threads allowed contain links to these xda apps. Comments can either be allowed in those threads, or have separate comment threads elsewhere. This would take a lot less development, though slightly more moderation perhaps.

There is just one problem. I need someone that can make it because I can't. It was just an idea that I had. So I've someone can do that I would be very happy.

This a great idea.
Why don't you make contact with the developers and do something.
I mean we all love talking about our favorite apps.
And what we think is good.
If they do come out with this it would be amazing.

Awesome............... Can those other repos be, um, disabled, not shown for potential XDA apps usage? Clearly wouldn't want XDA just being "one of many" repos there, the many being all warez.

If it wasnt for XDA, I would have several bricked phones, and no knowledge at all.. xD
I like the opportunity that XDA creates. It creates an environment where people can not only display and share their work but also where people can come learn and become developers. If not for XDA most of our eyes would still be closed. Huge Thank you to the staff and many devs on XDA!

XDA Developers is in my opinion the best forums related to android and smartphone subjects. Here you can find a solution of a "deep", complex problem because there are many experienced members. Many of them develop things too.
