HTC SIP style menu everywhere - General Questions and Answers

Is it possible to replace all softkey menus with HTC's new SIP chooser like menus?
Or is it application specific like Blackstone's new Stocks Application? The menu there is similar to the SIP chooser.

You can, but I can't remember the name of the software to do it. Helpful, eh? Sorry! Maybe someone else can chime in...

ill chime in
its called the rhodium menu enhancment
but beware itll only work with operating systems with a build over 21xxx
it can be found here

TouchFlo 3D Settings Tab

I've searched all over xda-developers but apologies if this is already answered.
How do you change (ie. delete some and add others) the default settings that show up in the Touch Flo 3D's Settings tab?
I don't understand why on earth HTC put things like "My Contact Card", "Mail Setup", Customize Tabs", etc on this otherwise handy tab and don't allow customisation. What's the point of having shortcuts to something you usually do once when setting the phone up versus items you re-visit regularly being forced into "All Settings".
touchflow settings tab
you can change the settings by installing this cab. it will speed up you touch and give you an option to change the order or remove items off the tabs. worth doing just for the speed alone.

Hi and thanks for that.
Appreciate the suggestion, but I'm not interested in all those other changes in that cab solution. I run TouchFlo 3D on the new Touch Pro2 and it is lightning fast and very responsive. The other Diamond fixes are also not relevant.
So it's encouraging that someone has worked out how to do it, but I'd like just the registry tweaks to modify the Settings tab, not a cab that does heaps of tweaks. I've searched through this cab but can't decipher the ones I'm after.
Anyone know where the tweaks for Settings tab alone might be?
Thanks.

[APP][18-09-2009] SetSIP 1.1 - Change the SIP from a shortcut

SetSIP 1.1
Changing SIP (software keyboard) type is both cumbersome (that small finger unfriendly arrow near the SIP icon) and slow (the selection menu does not popup for a noticeable time). Worse on Topaz (Diamond 2) the menu has 2 levels: one for select between Touch Input full QWERTY and Phone Keypad and one for select other SIP types.
SetSIP allow to change the SIP, including the two Touch Input layouts from a shortcut.
Requirements and compatibility
SetSIP was developed for HTC Topaz (Diamond 2) with WM6.1 and requires Compact Framework 2 or above. It should work on many other phones but the test is up to you. Touch Input layouts selection make sense only on phones with Touch Input / EzInput.
Install
Run SetSIP.cab and install in main memory.
Uninstall
Use Remove Programs in Settings.
Shortcuts creation
Installation copies two files in your phone, SetSIP.exe and SetSIPShortcut.exe and adds a shortcut named "SetSIP Create Shortcuts" to Programs. SetSIP.exe is the actual utility that changes the SIP as specified by command line parameters inside shortcuts. Creating the shortcuts manually is possible but cumbersome (see ReadMe.txt for details). Therefore, the SetSIPShortcut.exe utility scans your phone for all the installed SIPs and creates shortcuts for all of them. For Touch Input / EzInput SIP it creates shortcuts for all the layouts.
To create the shortcuts go to Programs and tap "SetSIP Create Shortcuts". After a while a popup dialog will inform you of the program termination and of the name of the directory where the created shortcuts are.

v1.1 [18-09-2009]

V1.1 posted, with utility to create shortcuts for all installed SIPs.
Thanks for the app Oruam. Very useful. I'm surprised there aren't more posts here as I would have thought this was useful to more people.

Oh well, browsing the forum the relation between application usefulness and success appears misterious indeed
At any rate, the small applications I coded it was only because I could not find a ready made solution to a problem I had (It's not my job and I'm lazy after all ). After that, sharing them with anyother who could have perceived the same problem seemed rational.
Worked for me with Sprint MR1 ROM and 6.5
Thanks for posting these SIP shortcuts. Your shortcuts worked for me after installing the Sprint MR1 ROM update which includes Windows Mobile 6.5. One suggested improvement is to permit removal of the shortcut creation icon after it initially runs.
To make it faster and easier to switch SIP modes, I used Tarkim's Keyboard Config tool to launch the Block Recognizer SIP shortcut. I mapped it as a double-click on the back button. Then I can use the built in HTC input to switch back to QWERTY mode if I need it.
I also called to complain to Sprint and they in turn contacted HTC while I was on the telephone. Someone named Beth at HTC confirmed that these recognizers were left out of the updated Touch Input modules on purpose and that they not disclose that this was part of the upgrade. [email protected]#!#[email protected]@!. Nice way that have of saying thanks to their customers who purchased one of the most expensive phones on the market.
Work for me also. Currently running a HTC TP2 with Energy ROM Version Energy.RHODIUM.21898.Sense2.5.Apr.09 for anyone else who is out there browsing the forum.
Copied the Letter Recognizer shortcut from \Program Files\SetSIP folder into the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder, after installing the CAB and tapping the Set SIP Shortcuts.
From now on it's one click and good to go.
Thanks a lot oruam57

Thank you very much! This excellent app works on my HTC Artemis P3300 O2 xda Orbit running Harrycaine's WM6.5. I was stuck with default Ezinput 2.1 but your app allows me to switch keyboards very easily. Cheers

Windows Mobile 6.5 Taskbar

The only thing I hate about my new Tilt 2 is that horrible black WM taskbar. I want some type of more colorful, 3d task bar as well as come better icons. I've researched for the past 3 nights and all i've gotten is a headache. The tsowens taskbars and stuff only change icons. That's my secondary priority...Plus, i want to change some of his icons to a few of the extras he provided. He mentions that there are instructions to do so in another post but i could never find them. Could someone please guide me or show me a better solution? I really don't want to mess up my new Tilt 2...
The icons are all usauly in the windows folder. So get new icons, get the correct file names, download total commander and replace them with that.
About the colour change try UITweaker there is loads of settings for changing colours in there.
Win Mob 6.5
Yes you are right on the part of Windows Mobile 7. It would surely be "game changing". The new WM 7 is designed to be used on devices with touchscreen only with QWERTY keyboards.Even surfing is made easier with "tabbed" browsing, except you can switch tabs by shaking the phone.
Win Mob 6.5
Well, the start menu cannot be customized from the Honeycomb Menu. But let me add a point here, the honeycomb menu of winmo 6.5 is globally recognized as user-friendly menu because it makes the icons more distinguishable.
It would be handy to be able to change the icon location and look, without hacking into the registry.

[Q] moving items in WM6.5 start menu ?

Hi, on Wm6.5 roms for the touch HD you can press and hold on the start menu items an move them arround but in the HD2 you can only send them to top. Thats is a really ugly to reorder lots of icons.
I think there must be a key in the registry to set this behaviour but cant find it.
Someone knows it?
PD: Someone sugested a program called "JWMD Icon Changer V1.9 beta" to change the order of the start menu items, but i want the easy press and hold way
I will have both HD and HD2 for a few days only so I can compare registry values on both but dont know where exactly to look at.
It's not quite as simple as a single registry key. Whatever build you were running was either a 6.5.x build (start button on the bottom bar) or had some 6.5.x portions built in. That feature only started appearing in the 2303x builds, and is probably a pretty low level change. Meanwhile, the HD2 does not run one of those special builds of 6.5, so I'd say that until cooked ROMs come to the HD2, there's not much you can do besides use that program.
Damn! you're right. my HD got a 23xxx build from Dutty and the HD2 got an extremely old build
Well let's wait for cooked rom then
Thanks

[Searching] Theme Editor

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a tool for my Blackstone device which offers the ability of changing several theme related things. Like the color of a highlighted menu item and such. I've been searching the forum and even tormenting google half the day but can't seem to find anything that comes even close. -.- Does anybody know of such a tool?
What WM version (6, 6.5 etc.)? Do you have all those HTC customizations (menu enhancement)?

I use april 8th EnergyROM build 23554 with GTX themed cookiemonster's home tab.
Moved as not software release.
Well, there are mainly two different components which can be skinned, one is Manila and everything else from HTC, the other is WM 6.5 itself, which can be controlled by a compatible theme like mine.

This is exactly right. To change the colours in Manila, you can use Mode9 editor or manila editor. To change the colours of WM, you can use UI Tweaker or Pocket Theme Editor.
Thank you guys. It's mainly the system menus I want to modify, so I'll give Pocket Theme Editor a shot.
