(I gratefully use S2V as well as other apps to open pictures.)
If I want to be able to just go to the same pictures quickly via thumbnails on my Today screen or Pocket Plus/Mobile Shell - what's the best way to do that?
So ideally Pocket Plus would have a plugin (Tab) which includes 6 of my most used (or shown) picture thumbnails. Clicking on any of the thumbnails would open that particular picture in my desired app.
How would you go about this?
(Often people ask questions about stuff and it would be nice to just show them a relevant pic straight away without having to scroll through a selection.)

So I'd do this myself but haven't made the time to. This is more of a request / suggestion for an application. Basically every time you take a photo or a video the application automatically email's the file to any email's you entered into the application. I'm sure its possible since the photo bucket application can upload new photos automatically.
In case you are not aware of why this is useful, basically every photo and video service can accept emails for uploading. Like flickr, facebook, even youtube.
So the program should check the camera's default folder (which should be able to be set in the program) one for new videos and one for new photos. And then use two input fields one for email addresses for new photos and one for addresses for new videos, and then send an email (with some default tags, titles, etc, also able to be set in the program). Then of course you can go through the photos when you get home.
Anyhow if anyone wants to work on this or thinks its a good idea, let me know.
Ever since I got in contact with Android I've noticed this annoying problem (if I can call it a problem): the gallery scanner grabs all the pictures on the card, not being limited to a folder or something. That's not bad in itself, but when the music library contains album art, you get lots of extra, useless pics in the picture viewer.
Yes, I already know about the <.nomedia> file and the dot at the beginning of the folder name, but that doesn't solve my problem.
Basically I don't want to hide folders all together from the media scanner, as that would cripple my audio/video player's functionality, but keep the picture viewer confined to a single (maybe two) folder.
Did I miss something while searching around or something like that is not possible at the moment?
Thank you!
PS: As noticed in my signature I have a Motorola Defy with CM7
I also knew about the .nomedia trick.. it should work
you can also hide albums (with a HTC that is)
if you go to your gallery (HTC phone) and press menu
you can select albums to show or hide
No, it's not possible. That's why most of us use a third party gallery app. QuickPic is the most popluar one, and does what you want.

or you can use vaulty free hides pictures, which i believe integrates with your current gallery app
As Android is a linux thingamagic, it will hide the media of folders where you create a file called ".nomedia" without the quotes. Use your favorite file explorer to do this.
I use that, and it works
1. I've transferred a bunch of my pictures over to my Pixel, but some of the photos seem to be completely out of order. Is there any way to fix this? I'm assuming it's something with the metadata, but I'm far from an expert there... it's claiming all the photos are from "today". This is only in a few of my folders, my Instagram photos for instance seem to be in the proper order while others are a complete clusterf*ck.
2. Is it possible to curate what's in the main photo stream? I'm used to the main gallery on my previous phones being from the camera with the ability to have other folders. I'd rather not have dirty pictures showing up in my main stream, but it'd be nice to not have to use a third party gallery app.
3. I don't see notification counters on my apps like I did on my S6 Edge. Is that just a Pixel Launcher thing? Can that be changed?
Thanks
Looking for some help in finding a gallery app.
Basically I have a large set of images (currently between 3000 - 4000) that I like to browse through. They are all grouped together in a favorites album, and I usually don't bother tagging the individual images. The problem is, unless I keep the app suspended in the background with the last image I was looking at on the screen, the minute I close the app I loose my place and have to try to refind where I was all over again if I want to browse them without starting from the beginning (these aren't grouped by date, and all the names don't follow any unified format). I'd like to have a way to bookmark an individual image so that I can go right back to where I was in the viewing order, and continue on from there.
The closest I've found so far is F-stop, but the app doesn't allow bookmarking of individual images, only by folder, rating, etc., which isn't what I'm looking for.
Anyone know of any such gallery app/image viewer that would have what I'm looking for?
Edit: Solved. If anyone's in the same situation, what worked for me is searching for .thumbnail folders (make sure "show hidden files" or similar is enabled in your file browser), and deleting their content. Google photos will then recreate the thumbnails when you next open it.
Hello friends.
Ever since a few days, I've been having the strangest of problems with my pixel 4xl under android 10:
Basically, the thumbnails or previews of my pictures do not match the picture itself.
For example, if I want to send an image to a whatsapp contact, or attach one to an email I'm composing or whatever, the preview or thumbnail that I'm shown is that of a much older and long deleted image. Pressing the miniature instantly shows me the correct picture, but if I press the back button, I'm again presented with something that had nothing to do with that particular photo.
Hope this makes sense.
This happens both in the Google photos app and third party apps such as whatsapp.
The only step I can think of doing to correct it is deleting storage and cache of my Media Storage, but that didn't help.
Can anyone shed some light on the matter?
Best regards!
