Hi,
Im having a bit of trouble on my Asus P525.
Its got a cooked 6.1 rom, but i can't get a balance notification to come up after i send an sms, or make a phone call.
Ive tried using registry tweaks apps, but is there an actual edit i can make myself in the registry to make me get a balance notification?
At the minute it just says 'Session Terminated'
any help is appreciated
thanks

Hi All....sorry to have to ask but just got an SP5 and can't find how to switch off the confirmation note I get everytime a send an SMS....where do I find the setting?
Clearly it's not such a ridiculous question - since I've just had an answer from imate and it turns out there is no way to switch the popup off - how annoying !
you need to hack the registry. either disable the tone or change the message tone to a less irritating one.
there's a site mentioned in this thread. take a look at it...

is there any hack to enable this? are there any freeware apps that can accomplish this task? I have looked through many related threads but have not gotten anywhere. any help you guys might offer would be more than appreciated.
thanks in advance...

There is Register setting as below (BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE CHANGING THE REGISTRY)
Repeat notifications for text , email messages and missed calls
Under HKCU/ControlPanel/Notifications find the following keys for Email, Text messages and missed phone calls:
A877d65Axxxxxxx
A877d65Bxxxxxxx
A877D660xxxxxxx
Also find Key 15F11F90xxxx for reminders.
Copy the Options value from the Reminders key and overwrite the options value in missed calls or both email and text message keys with this value (1073741853)
Once you have done this, go to start - settings - sounds and notifications - notifications. Under events, select new email message, new text message or missed calls and you'll notice that the repeat option that was grayed out is now enabled and can be selected.
Cheers (dont forget to backup your device before)
I have tried the similar approach (using other software that seems to able to hack the Notification settings) to enable the repeat option. With that enabled, I have a problems with my 5 seconds WAV sound for SMS. When I cancel the message while the WAV is playing, it is somehow not recognised as a 'dismissed' notification, and it keeps on 'bugging'. That's quiet a while ago, and possibly on the 1st versin of WM5. Probably you'll get lucky on the newer OS, but I think the may have the option greyed out for a reason.
Anyway, do that Bulldog said, backup your system, just incase you need a hardreset.
I installed the new official 6.1 ROM from HTC on my Touch Cruise. I is working gread, but there is one VERY annoying feature that I want to get rid off, but I can't find a way.
It is that foolish manner of showing the SMS messages as some kind of chat conversation. How can I get rid of that ? I want to use the old fashioned way of SMS being just an SMS, not a chat conversation.
Search the forum for the registry entry to turn off threaded SMS.
I have seen this new feature on the new ROM and I thought it was cool at first. It's starting to annoy me a little bit, so we'll have to see whether or not I get that annoyed I have to turn threaded SMS off.
yeah some parts are a bit annoying. like viewing the timestamp of a text was sent a couple of days ago. haven't quite figured that one yet. the other thing is the performance hit with threaded sms, as well as when the keyboard pops up combined with the area to write in, not much space is left to see the previous message anyways. maybe i should turn it off....haha...

I take this back. It's pretty annoying now!
After digging about, I found this superb fix in a .cab file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1963101&postcount=31
U cud use Mod SMS V 2.0
Maybe you could use this:
http://freewareppc.com/communication/modesms.shtml
Also an part of changeable settings in Schap's Advanced Config Tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070&highlight=Schap%27s+Advanced+Config)
Recently after doing a hard reset i keep getting this box that pops up when i get a new text message. this never happened before, it started after i did the hard reset. it looks like something from another app, i have attached a pic; see the box that has the 'Reply Call Delete' options and the arrows(that takes up more than 1/2 my screen). my problem is that this interfere's with M2D's SMS page and i want to get rid of it, but there is no other program that is installed that would cause something like this to happen.
ETEN M600 w/ Kozhura's custom WM6.1 ROM
M2D Update 14
NO other contact management/SMS programs installed.
Have you checked your notification options screen to ensure that the option for it to display a notification message is unchecked?
Also, from the skinning of that, if the above doesn't work, is this a new ROM flash? perhaps it's an application included in the ROM.
Have you installed ANY other interface, whether SMS specific or not, that might have that screen there as a "feature" of sorts?
Yeah, i've already checked the notification message and unchecked it
Nope, same ROM
The only other interface I've installed is Manila2D, even when I used M2D before nothing of this sort happened
I appreciate you trying to help me out though, Thanks.
Your screenshot looks like Zoom SMS.

Thanks Tomdoodly, I guess I should of just searched more, thanks for your help though.
EDIT: I feel retarded now, its so simple, i dont know how i missed it. All I had to do was go into Phone/Settings/Apprciation Software/ and disable everything!!
Sms notification screwed up! Right after installing and uninstalling phone weaver. I use advanced config and the settings still display correctly. Any help would be awesome. Im currently receiving delivery notice went sent and no notice when received. I would like them reversed.
well, removing the sent notification is done thru:
start/messaging/menu/options/SMS \ MMS/request delivery notifications
now.. before anything else, check that in the Sounds And Notifications, you have your incoming text message set with a notification... if that doesn't work, maybe phone weaver's settings killed something in your registry.. maybe you should reinstall and change them..
hard reset is the answer to everything!
We already realized, in many other threads, that hardresets are last resort. we don't offer hard resets before we check for other possible solutions.
thank you
