Hello I was looking for a custom cricket rom for my xv6700 if anyone can help me and point me in the right direction that would be cool. Like what radio it needs, and if it needs to be unlooked. I have been reading around but everything about this model seems to be that phones have been getting better and peeps are noe that interested in this model. Also the latest update Thanks in advance for all of your time

Good Evening all!! My TP2 for sprint is on the way (hopefully tomorrow but possibly monday)! I have been out of the upgrading game for a few years now. I am coming from a mogul and even in the last year I haven't done anything to that because I felt like I have explored everything in the previous few years. Will anyone point me in the direction of some good links? I feel like I am starting all over with this whole process. anyway... where do I begin? I've been looking for stickies for sprint unlocking but it seems even the basic terms are beyond me....PLEASE HELP!!!
P. S. I formerly used and loved DCDs' ROMs.....what out now is similar to those?
Hi, welcome back to XDA. Seems like you enjoy custom ROMs and personalizing your phone. Everything you need will be in this forum because we use CDMA phones. Seeing as how you are probably going to use a custom ROM, you will first want to check out the Hard SPL thread here.
Once again it is very important to make sure you download CDMA versions as the GSM version can possibly brick your device. The same goes for downloading custom ROMs, which i suggest you download from PPC Geek's CDMA TP2 upgrades.
Below is the configuration that I use. To review different benchmarks on some different custom roms check out the PPC geeks ROM Showdown.
Best of luck with your device and always remember, if you don't know, READ IT AGAIN. If you still don't know, Search the forums. If you still don't know ask one of the experts here
thanks you very much for your response. i'm going to begin "studying" tonight. My TP2 is scheduled to be here before 3 on Monday (so excited). is it all everybody thought it would be and more? I've been out of the upgrading scene for years
hey, i recently did the same thing (upgrade from mogul to TP2)
as burtonsnow linked, HSPL is stickied in this forum
personally i use NRG's rom (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86489)
i used to use DCD because it was lightweight, but the TP2 doesnt have the same RAM issues as the mogul, so i found i can indulge in a rom with some more eye candy
anyway, hope you like the TP2, im loving mine all my iphone fanboy/girl friends who thought my mogul was "nice, but not as good as an iphone" nearly **** themselves when they say my TP2 (they all want one now lol)
radios and such
is there a list of what radios work best with certain roms (and works well with gps)? when i had the mogul i used to use garmin mobile xt...is that the best program to use for the TP2?
i dont think there is as big a selection of radio roms for the TP2, ive really only seen the sprint stock radio around
i use TomTom on both mogul and TP2, so i cant comment on garmin
Hey folks, im thinking of buying an hd2 and i have a few questions. I have searched quite a bit about porting to android, but i have a few questions unanswered.
First off, can i unlock the hd2, port it, and then use it on att's network?
About the voice issues, are they fixed? i read up on it and i couldnt get a sure answer, all i read was it was a problem with the radio or something.

You can use an unlocked HD2 on AT&T, but you won't have 3g. AT&T uses a different frequency for their 3g.
Most of the android builds I've tried work great. You will have to flash HardSPL onto your phone and flash on a new Android-friendly Windows Mobile ROM. Check out the ROM Development under the HD2 forum. There are several tutorials on how to do all this.
Currently there is no permanent ported android build yet as in nand.
The android its either running in your SD card or RAM.
With HTC HD2 you have dual boot to Winmo & Android.
Depending on Winmo ROM & Radio & Android build will get stability.
So you can try diff ROMs & build to test out.
Thank you for such a quick reply, so just to be clear the voice issue ive heard of is fixed? and i can unlock the phone and use it with att and put android on it as well? i dont use data much so 3g wont be missed much.
voice issue depends on the version of radio rom of ur HD2.
roughly told it is fixed (be frank, so far I haven't encountered this problem from my day 1 lol)
Honestly, why would you buy an HD2 if you want to run Android. As wonderful as the development here is, it will most likely never be as stable or bug free as a device which runs Android natively.
I'd much sooner buy an HTC EVO or Desire HD. In fact I'm tempted to try and sell my HD2 to get one.
I'm by no means trying to put down the work of the Devs, they do a fantastic job and are very close to what I would call a stable build for daily use. But seriously, you will find Android on the HD2 frustrating at the best of times when compared to a device which is designed to run it.
P.S - This should not be in the development forum.
hd2 running andriod
hi im new to the forum thing but i know a bit about phones the hd2 running android is a very good option for you there are a few issues still effecting hd2s at the moment one is mms cannot recieve or send mms (pic msgs)and the other issue is the bluetooth its not a major issue as you can get a blutooth app from the store i run a build that uses the ram of my phone to speed up the build and i havent had any problems with it as of yet and its a lot quicker if your new to flashing i would just put the build on a 8gb sd card (you need to set it up first )but its a lot quicker than the normal builds that run from the sd card
if you have any problems let me know and ill get a reply asap

I want an hd2 because its sort of a cheaper alternative for me to use than to buy a samsung captivate or vibrate, and its one of the few GSM phones with its kind of specs at its price. Also ill be switching carriers in 6 months so i just want to use it until then.
And everyone else, thanks for the info, you've been a great help and if i need help ill ask again, and i wont try to clutter the forums, i didint realize there was a Q&A forum, my bad lol

If you use AT&T get a AT&T phone. . . Not because of any real reason except native carrier devices really do work better.
I had a unlocked iPhone forever and no 3g sucks. Even if you don't use it much, it's a waste not to have it.

Wow, i wish i had seen this before, sorry for the post and thanks alot for the help
my friend asked me if you can install any other software onto his samsung omnia i900 and i have no idea. as its a old phone, ive had a look at a few sites but they all seem to be a few yrs old and i dont know if the roms will work .
im hoping someone on here would be able to tell me if you still can upgrade a omnia i900. my mate wants windows 6.5 on it or android . i pretty sure you cant get android on it as its not compatable,
is they any roms for it that are up to date ?
any info would be great
regards
I don't know how up to date they are but there are a great many ROMs for that device over at the Modaco forums, many of which i used myself. There's no reason why your friend shouldn't try one or two of them, just as long as he knows the risks and follows the directions given.
Personally i would favour 'light' ROMs over 'feature filled' ones and then add what i needed afterward.
Really worth it to flash it to WM6.5.3, It's as if you have a whole new phone.
I am not at all familiar with this phone and was wondering if there is a stable root. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
the optimous was a very good phone when it came out it ships with android 2.2 so rooting it will be easy as far as rom support goes thats were there the problem is theres a few floating around though. i had the hero witch has pretty much the same specs as the optimous but theres a ton of rom support for it so if your looking for a really cheap good phone and dont want to pay for extra for 4g i would go with the hero if you can find one.
try the rooting methods on the top of this page
Thank you for your help. It is most certainly appreciated!
I am looking to upgrade the ROM on my phone since some of my apps are no longer being supported. I dont want to purchase a new phone since I really like the phone and the new phones all seem to be mini-computers. I like my small phone!
Is there anyone out there that can point me to a ROM that would work for the Stellar and get me to at least 4.5?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
Your device doesn't have a dedicated forum here and as it's fairly uncommon and several years old there doesn't seem to be much dev support for it. The only relevant thread I could find is this one but it isn't too helpful. That's all I have I'm afraid, unless you want to ask in the general Q&A and hope for the best.
