Messaging and Synchronize Microsoft Active Synch 4.1.

In the Version 5.0 Windows Mobile the system comes with three main folders – MMS – TEXT – OUTLOOK E MAIL. Each one has in turn subfolders such as sent mail, inbox, deletions and so on…
I have added two folders being PERSONAL and BUSINESS through my T-Mobile carrier, again coming standard with sent mail, inbox, deletion and so on...
When synchronizing the only folder that does so is OUTLOOK E-MAIL which is not a problem in itself. However, incoming wireless mail comes in under BUSINESS and PERSONAL accounts which is not a problem since a copy is sent to the regular computer that then synchronizes with the device every now and then.
The PROBLEM: When responding to mail that came in under the wireless scenarios (I.E.: into PERSONAL and BUSINESS Folders) there is no way to capture the sent mail except leaving it on the MDA itself. I would have thought it be possible to either synchronize it or move it into a separate folder on the MDA. There is a move function but this only allows you to move items within each Folder and not to other folders.

Tips for: WLM (Mobile) / Outlook / MSN Contacts

Many persons have problems with setting up the new Messenger, maybe I have some tips for you.
1) !!! Don't install WLM Mobile yet or remove it as quick as possible !!!!
2) First backup the WLM contactlist on your PC
(saving instant messaging contacts, creating a .ctt file)
3) Close Outlook if it's open and search for the PST file.
Copy that file at a save place. It's better to change the default location in the Application data of your profile anyway.
4) Open Outlook and WLM on your PC.
For all the contacts which you have in both programs, copy the e-mail adress from the WLM to the IM-adress field in the contact card of Outlook. For the contacts which are in WLM but not yet in Outlook, these will be created automaticly after syncing.
5) Did a lot of work in Outlook? -> Make another copy of your PST.
6) Sync all the contacts from Outlook to your phone by ActiveSync / WMDC.
7) Now install WLM Mobile
8) Reboot
9) Login Windows Live
10) I like the Windows Live Applications, but not the search. I sync the contacts but I don't sync the mail (cause I don't have Hotmail).
11) If you open the Contacts now on your phone, you'll see a VCard icoon for regular contacts and a Messenger icon for IM contacts. For the IM contacts you see if they are online or not (even you can see if you've blocked someone).
12) In Outlook you'll have to do some work to correct the created WLM contacts (give them a Full Name for example)
Syncing is slightly different when you sync with a PC, Exchange server and a mobile.
The most easy way is to make sure all changes are in Exchange server. So first sync everything and then flash the mobile. Clean all the contacts and appointments in Outlook (mostly home). Sync the mobile with Exchange server, then add the Outlook. For the rest is it the same.
If you don't clean your Outlook (contacts + appointments), it's possible you'll have everything twice. Tested it here (Netherlands) with a HTC P3600 (LVSW or mUn ROM), WMDC (Vista) and Outlook 2007.

Syncronizing Outlook calendar with .pst

Hi guys!
I need yous help or comments here.
I have PPC WM6, Outlook 2003.
I have downloaded a .pst file for a sports tournament here in South Africa.
I have imported it to my Outlook calendar, and the appointments appear on my PC, but does not sync to my PPC.
I saw something about a PPC not being able to sync personal files etc.
I wanna know, is there an easy way to get the PPC to sync the Appointments to my PPC. I saw some software and stuff, but not sure if there is a easy way to do it?
Can someone help here??
Thanks guys!
I have included a Screenie of how my setup looks! Thanks!
Anyone that can help with this please!
I think there should be some thing in Outlook configuration for selecting your main synce source files. may be outlook only sync your ppc with your default pst file.

Thats indeed what happens.
But how do i get that part of the Calender to sync with the main .pst?
I did in once before, but i used a different .pst file, i think that was configured to link upto the main pst.
Its strange, becuase this .pst that i loaded for the sports event created a second type of calendar, i dont know how to set it to sync with main!
Any ideas??
Thanks guys!
As I understand it, ActiveSync, will only sync the default folders in your OutLook account, i.e. the ones in your exchange server. However, you can specify to Outlook to deliver new mail, appointments, etc. to a pst file automatically, thus making the folders (calendar, contacts, mail, etc.) in the pst file available for syncing to the PPC. This is they way I have setup my PC at the moment. Merely "importing" the pst file to Outlook will not change the default folders that are used to deliver new items and to sync with the exchange server and the PPC. This is why you can see the 2 calendars side by side. If you only want to have some specific appointments made available to the PPC I would recommend just copying them to the default calendar folder.

Hi!
Where is the default calender folder located?
Thanks alot!
(If i copy this .pst to that folder, will it sync??)
Thanks
I'm afraid is not that simple... In the screenshot my PST folders (personal) are on top and my default Outlook Folders are below. In your case your default folder is "CALENDAR" and your PST Folder is "Super 14". Simply copying the folder inside outlook will just create a "Calendar2" folder below the default one. The easiest way would be:
1. Open the "Super 14" Calendar which contains the appointments you want to sync to the PPC.
2. Change the VIEW to "ALL APPOINTMENTS".
2. Then, EDIT -> SELECT ALL.
3. Now you can either EDIT->COPY and EDIT->PASTE them into your "CALENDAR" folder OR move (EDIT->MOVE TO) them there. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT ONCE THEY ARE MOVED IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THEM FROM THAT CALENDAR, OR TO RETURN THEM TO OLD ONE.
Try it first with a couple of appointments and see if you can sync them to the PPC.
Make a copy of your PST file first, so you can go back if it gets screwed up.
