Okay. Recently, the sound on my Touch Pro hasn't been working properly..
I turned up the volume, and I go into my ringtone settings and play my ringtone. No sound comes out. My alarm rings, and no sound comes out either.
I go to the TF3D music player, no sound. BUT, if I slide the seeker bar (dunno what it's called) off to another point, I can hear music! This applies to the youtube app too. When I slide seeking bar to a differnet point, the sound works again. Thing is though, as soon as I go do something else, the sound doesn't work for anything again.
This is a recent problem.. This problem wasn't here last month.. I only noticed it in the last weeks when my alarm didn't sound anymore (at least it still vibrated though).
Anyone got a clue on what's happening? I checked out the other long thread about the touch pro and sound issues but I'm not sure if their problem really applies to mine since I had sound since before 2 weeks ago.

Hi All,
First off, I'm not bashing this device. WAY better then others I've used in the past and performance is nice and snappy! I'm really happy that the geniuses here at xdev have come up with some alternative roms to push the envelope for us and this phone. I'm running Lithium 1.2.1 and love it!
The main thing that really irks me about this phone is the complete lack of audio feedback in many areas. On my Dell Streak and Samsung Captivate, when I went into settings, sound, and checked all the boxes under Feedback, IT WORKED. When I change the settings for whatever keyboard I was using (Swype, Go Keyboard, Thumb keyboard, Swiftkey, etc) and enabled sound ON - IT WORKED. When a Bluetooth headset connected - ALL SOUNDS WENT TO THE HEADSET! Notifications, ringtones, screen clicks, screen lock sound - ALL SOUND.
NONE OF THIS WORKS ON THE ATRIX 2. The only notifications that go to the headset is the incoming call alert (but NOT the actual ringtone) - no notifications on anything else ever go out to the headset - only the phone speaker.... Playing music works great, and phone operations work great. ANYTHING ELSE JUST PLAIN DOESN'T WORK AS EXPECTED.
I've been trying to find a good notification system that can announce calls and read my incoming text messages - NONE OF THEM WORK. oh sure, I can initiate a command and the bluetooth mic works but audio feedback DOESN'T. Skyvi, EVA, AVX, Andy, you name it I've tried it. It acts like it did everything but it never makes it to the bluetooth stack. I'll unlock my screen to find one of these voice assistants sitting on a "Do you wish to reply?" after it supposedly announced my message..... I've tried stock 2.3.5, 2.3.6, and every custom rom available but NO DICE. They all act the same - it seems the entire bluetooth audio stack/stream is spotty at best. and AVRCP response is spotty as well. Sometimes I have to hit my PLAY/PAUSE button 3 times to get the sound to come out in my headset... The first push wakes up my phone (which also makes no sense) and I've found that it actually starts playing the file previously selected - BUT NO SOUND. So I have to hit PLAY/PAUSE again (this pauses the silently playing track) and then hit PLAY/PAUSE again - NOW I GET MUSIC. Pausing a playing file is the same. First tap of PLAY/PAUSE wakes up the phone, 2nd tap asserts control of the music player (in this case Google Play Music but I've tried them all) and MAYBE the 3rd tap will actually PAUSE the music! FRUSTRATING!!! Especially if you listen to audio books!!
Don't get me started on the "now it's working, now it isn't" Haptic Feedback!
<stepping off soapbox>
I know most users don't really hit the bluetooth stack hard. Anyone out there seeing the same things as I am? Everything else seems to work flawlessly.
I have the audio problem as well. My haptic feedback works fine. I get notification sounds, when my notifications (fb and twitter) want to work. Everything else is pretty decent. Weird things: if I hold the phone too tight in landscape mode, the screen won't move, at all...
Personally I hate having my phone make noise, so i turn it all off and it's not a problem.

yep, my sound profile is as follows: Ringtone-alert bright but normally only vibrate
notifications- silent
never will my phone make noise for notifications, that's important when you are in school!
My sounds are intermittent. The screen unlock sound never works. Sometimes the plugged in charger sound works, sometimes it doesn't. There is no unplug charger sound. The haptic feedback is so weak I can barely feel it. Making selections in the app drawer never makes a sound. These are all set to ON.
If this thread was intended to be a 'question' you should have posted it in the Q&A Section, otherwise you probably should edit the title of this thread...
I dont think i have any problems with notifications, i prefer my phone to be wuiet all other times

I have similar sound experiences but I use a wired headset and don't care much for all the notifications (switched em off) so its not that big an irk for me.. My sometime-ish wifi on the other hand, THAT'S a different matter

Okay, stumped me a little this one.
I have no notification sounds on my OnePlus One whatsoever. Calls/texts/alarm sounds don't come through, even when trying to preview them via settings menu. I know the speakers are okay as when I play a YouTube video, the sound comes through fine. Even more weirdly, touch sounds, screen lock sounds and dialpad sounds are also playing fine.
Phone is on the latest firmware and resetting the device has done nothing.
PLEASE HELP! I'm missing all sorts of calls and stuff
Do you have Pressy or a headphone clicker by any chance?
Been testing the Idol 3 for the past 2 days. Yesterday the audio effects (which is on by default) worked splendidly, I especially like it for use with the built in speakers and the ear buds. Point being, I could hear a pronounced difference between the on and off position.
However, ever since I turned it off last night (to feed my stereo) I can no longer hear it switching on or off. I have restarted the phone and the apps effected. I heard it working through Google play music before, and now this feature seems to be broken.
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. The only major change I've made to the phone at this point would be installing the Action Launcher.
Yeah mine doesn't work anymore either

If you have dj mode on, try turning it off.
Occasionally the sound in the bottom speakers will stop working and some apps will play through the ear speaker instead. When this happens Google Music, Youtube and some other apps won't work at all. For example pressing play in either of those apps does nothing, as in the play button never changes to a pause button. My alarm app on the other hand plays through the ear speaker instead of not working at all. The ear speaker sound volume is very quiet and doesn't appear to be controlled by the media volume either.
The only remedy that I've been able to find for this is a phone reboot
Wanted to bump this thread -
I originally thought this issue was related to Bluetooth because I use multiple bluetooth devices, but this has happened again recently when I didn't use any Bluetooth devices.
I have the exact same issue, and it's occurrence is random. This started happening a month back. I'm guessing this is due to some software update or something, but its really annoying and the only fix is a reboot.
Anyone has any ideas, whats going on ?
It's been happening multiple times a day lately! It's gotten substantially worse over the past month. I was watching a video, sent a text and when I went to resume it wouldn't play - low and behold the bug came back.. definitely appears to be completely random.
i think that there is somthing with your connection

With my connection to what?

This problem is driving me crazy
I have the exact same issue. Factory reset and update to newest firmware didn't help any idea?
Wash your phone. And wait till it dry.
I (and other person that I know) have the same issues.
No sound from bottom, and sometimes during the call no audio (I can't ear evrything and the other don't ear me).
Now I'm tring the mobile phone in safety mode.
And I've seen (for the edge version) that next android could fix the problem.
Someone have any update?
Have you tried the safety mode?
Im pretty sure its caused by Facebook messenger and Skype
From what I can tell, this seems to happen when you are playing any kind of audio, such as a video or game, and then receive a notification. You then go to the notification to respond to it and go back to your app that was playing the audio and the issue appears. It seems to be an issue, at least with me, whenever notification is received and subsequently answered.
I know Pixel 2 bluetooth problems have been discussed here and elsewhere ad nauseam, but I honestly haven't found anyone else experiencing the problem I'm having. Or really even close. None of this was an issue with my Nexus 6P, which I just replaced.
First problem: Audio programs mute between tracks. The phone thinks it's playing them, but it isn't. Take Pandora. A few songs will play fine, then one will end, and suddenly it'll go mute when the next song starts. I'll notice no sounds playing, and I'll look down to see it think it's playing, but with no sound. If I pause and hit play again, the sounds start up until the next song, when it does the same thing. This happens with every audio program I've tried EXCEPT Google Play Music, which works fine. It also sometimes works for 4-5 songs before tanking.
Second problem: notification noises suffer the same fate. I'll have Google Play Music going (which works), and it'll just cut out for a second). That's the notification buzz, which silences the music but doesn't actually play anything. Obviously I can't use the play/pause test to see if that fixes this.
I'm using Soundpeats Q16 true wireless. I unfortunately don't have much else with which to test this. I'd blame Soundpeats, but they worked great on my 6P, and the bluetooth problems with the P2 make me think it's not on Soundpeats here.
I've messed around with the Developer options, and I THINK that setting the Playback Quality to anything steady (330kbps, 660kpbs, or 990 kbps) fixes it. The problem is that that, and the other Bluetooth developer options, all reset on me almost immediately, so that's tough to prove. I have also tried messing around with Tasker, whose sounds also wind up muted.
So one question I'd have would be: is there a way to make those developer options stick?
Second question would be: anybody else in this boat?
I have tried both re-pairing and factory resetting the headphones, several times.
