Change character mapping of keyboard keys - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Is it possible to change the character mapping of the keyboard keys?
What I would like to do is assign some symbols "|" (pipe), "{" and "}" (curly brackets) to some of the keys which are accessible with the FN key that currently have no assignment.
For example make key combination FN+g output the "|" (pipe) character.
Anyone know how this can be done?

I'm using for this AE Keyboard Mapper http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php

Changing keyboard layout

My TyTN II has a Norwegian layout with keys that are special for my language, but after I flashed to Sleuth, I can't seem to use these keys. In fact, most key combos that involve FN and some other key gives the wrong character.
Is there any way I can re-map my keys to the proper symbols?

With MagiKB Lite you can do it on the hardware keyboard - the key mapping is customizable - you could start with the att 8925 key map (download attachment below), and then modify the key combos that aren't right for your Norwegian layout.
I think this is what you need in the second post there is a link for a Norwegian keyboard layout cab file.

Thank you. It works like a charm. How about the on-screen keyboard and the handwriting recognition?
I use cooteks Touchpal keyboard I love it I can type faster on it than I can with the hardware keyboard.

thx for the map for Kaiser devices. Just for reference I attach my Wizar (Qtek 9100, etc) WWE qwerty keyboard layout map for MagiKB...in case this could help someone...
I mapped the win key to context menu, double click for windows menu. this way, copy paste from keyboard is easier.

Adding new function key combinations?

Hey, I am wondring if there is any applications that allow you to add your own function key combinations, I have a SE X1, and want to add a FN+key to get easy access to the 3 Norwegian letters æ ø å.

Touch Input word suggestions

Hi!
I have an issue with the word selector list when using the Full QWERTY layout in XT9 mode. If I use the phone keypad or the Compact QWERTY layout words with special characters like æ, ø or å are suggested automatically.
For example hitting the "mno" key and then the "jkl" key on the Phone Keypad will suggest the word "øl" (among others), which by the way means beer in Norwegian. With the Compact QWERTY keyboard the special Norwegian characters are included included in the layout (on the buttons "opå" and "møæ"). Using thous keys works also perfectly well.
But on the Full QWERTY keyboard words with special characters are not suggested, unless I tap and hold for example the "o" key and manually slide to the letter "ø".
So to type "øl" I need to tap and hold "o", slide to "ø" and then tap the "l" button. Is there anyway I can get the Full QWERTY keyboard to behave like the two others, and suggest words with the special characters "ø" when only hitting the "o" key?

PK

You have to edit the keyboard file, which is in the Windows directory and is named something like eT9.Vox.0???.kmap.txt, where ??? represents 3 digits depending on your language version.
Copy the file to your storage card, remove the "hidden" "system" "readonly" ... flags, edit the file according to your needs and copy it back. You need a file editor such as Total Commander to do this.
There are 4 colums of letters in the file, the first column represents the value from keyboard driver, the 2nd what is printed on the keys, the 3rd what is produced when pressing Fn + key and the 4th what is generated by longpressing a key (or 123 mode). It is most convenient to map the extra letters to Fn + key, then you even get capital letters by pressing Shift + Fn + key, and you still get numbers & symbols by longpressing the key.
Hope this helps

Relocating smiley key on stock keyboard

I am attempting to relocate the smiley key to the comma key on the stock ICS keyboard.
I have located the smileys in strings.xml in the IME, but cannot find the location of where the long press key commands originate so I can move the function.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Andy
