To cut a long story short it is not a stabel rom if it powers of reset avantgo won't run anymore etc. And I want to know the posibility's of Chinese mobile networks.
Found the roms in the wiki. BTW anyone knows a enlisch Rom witch also supports Chinese?
If You live in Shanghai and are a Geek in mobile devices and preferably also Apple computers feel free to leave a PM.
Thanks

i'm using a english rom as well
The Chinese rom witch is avaiable for download is traditional Chinese. (This is used in Taiwan and before HongKong)
I'm seeking for one in Simplified Chinese.
Or a englisch rom witch kan display Simplified Chinese. (Used in Mainland China, PRC)
@seasky what rom are you using and can it or can it not display Chinese simplified characters?
And My Chinese is not sufficient yet to read the page you linked, but I also could'nt find a rom there.
So please could you clarify what you are addressing on that page?
you may try a software called cestar,it will support simple-chinese quite well
Go to XDA-Wiki, at WM5 section, there is a method you can use to enable your device to support Chinese, without flashing the entire ROM. Just install a 3MB+ cocktail of stuff.
UPDATE: Oops, just notice yours is not a WM5 phone. Sorry.
Eveybody sees, you Masters make a lot of great ROMs for Kaiser, i really wants to use them, but i can't ....
Because i really need my Kaiser to display chinese, such as in Contact or some dictionary programmes.
So if anyone can teach me how too add a chinese support to the roms, it will be very thanksful!
xiexie!
well,,there are some cabs for Chinese display, you can setup it, if you need it, pls email me.
cheers
i've already tryed some cabs, but not good, my handy turns to very slow....
may be they are not for Kaiser..
not really,,,my one is working well
Could you possibly tell me which program because I have been looking and looking and can't seem to find anything.
Thank you!
enjoy !!! the input is really cool, but I am left-handed, so there is little problem for me when kasia trying to reconise my word, but other then that everything is cool.
good luck and happy new year
I cant upload the 2nd cab for chinese support, email me ur email, i will send it to you
You could also try Cestar... you can download it from mobem (.com I think) as a trial, but even when the trial expires I hear tell it still allows you to read Chinese...
i'm using att tilt (kaiser) there is one software names. Ce-star, if u can not display chinese word,u can try to get that.
I used a cab before in WM5 but that hangs on WM6. I used this method for WM6 with no issues. Note: I added read-only support but not input.

Hello all
A friend of mine is living in Korea will bring me his new T-Omnia next week. The ROM that comes with it is in Korean and he has some trouble navigating though it as everything is in Korean. I tried to find a WWE ROM for the T*Omnia but got nothing.
Question: is there an easy way to translate the menus and dialogs to English.
It won't be that easy. The T*Omnia is sold only in Korea, so no WWE ROM's exist for it. There are software solutions that can translate the menus in russian or bulgarian but I don't think something similar exists for english as it is the default language if WinMobile If course you can try to hack some other translation of WinMobile (bulgarian for example) and apply it to the T*Omnia but there are still 2 issues:
1. No guarantee that such a solution will work with korean ROM. It's intendet to localize WWE ROM's. On the other hand a friend of mine localized a NL Diamond ROM successfully, so it may be worth a shot
2. The T*Omnia has a (still) non-standart resolution. Just look at the HD compatibility list for problematic apps So this is also a possible issue.
Anyway. Here is the link to such a localization program. It supports a number of languages, so it may be of some help to you.

you could always cook us an english rom- i would love a T*Omnia running english!!!
none of the software in the link seem to have the ability to localize to english
i guess having the ability to simply have the main menus in english is "good enough" untill Samsung releases a WWE version of the rom. if someone can help with that, that would be great.
anybody can help with this?
I second this - I have a sch-m490 could anyone cook an english rom.
Same here, need that rom badly. Anyone please?
BUMP please help with this. Im in korea and i really cant use my phone right now. I couldnt enjoy my omnia. Please please help.
Please guys im so desperate here. Anyone please.
Hi Guys,
I'm going to be travelling around europe, and I was wondering if any one has tried PPC directionaries???
There are many to choose from. Anyone know which one is the best option?
I use this:
Regards
Thank you .... I will give it a try. At the moment looking at the Beiks phrasebook.
Hi,
Google Translator doesn't work with me..it just doesn't translate. When I had WM6.1 I was very happy with Slovoed (Classic & Oxford) Dictionary but now with WM6.5 the screen is badly formatted so that I can't read well anymore, it's a pity. So if you're using WM6.1 I recommend it...for WM6.5 I hope someone else has an advice, cheers
Edit: my experience was with italian dictionary but,of course, german is available aswell.
Hi, I recently got a HD2 and I've realized that it can't display Asian (specifically Chinese) characters. Everything comes up as blocks....I'm just wondering if there's a way to get around this? Is there any way to make it so the HD2 is capable of showing the Chinese characters? Thanks in advance
As far as I know, you need to flash a ROM that handles double-byte characters. My Hong Kong HD2 has an English interface, but also can read/type chinese characters.
I found the official English Asian version of the ROM at HTCPedia here, which is probably what you need.
search for a SUNGLOBE PATCH. then it will display it. even does japenese characters.
good luck!
Look for sunglobe.cab for a quick installation. This is only for viewing chinese characters; japanese characters will not be shown, and you cannot enter chinese characters without the proper input method.
And while unrelated to this matter, here is a manual fix for viewing japanese characters on WM 6.5 I had to make a few days ago:
1. Grab the files meiryo.ttc and meiryob.ttc from your PC's font folder (C:\Windows\Fonts), provided it has them (Vista or newer, I'm not sure about XP)
2. Copy them to your HTC HD2 (or if it doesn't work, copy them somewhere else on your PC then on your HD2)
3. Move them on your HD2 to the \Windows\Fonts folder
4. Use the following registry file (copy-paste in notepad, save as .reg on your device, execute):
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SkipTable]
"Tahoma"="00a5,007e,0391-03c9,2026,2116,221a,25a0-25ff"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink]
"Arial"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo"
"Times New Roman"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo"
"Courier New"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo"
"Segoe Condensed"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo"
"HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo;\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
"Helvetica Neue OTS"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo;\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
"Tahoma"="\\Windows\\fonts\\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontPath]
"FontPath"="\\Windows\\Fonts"
5. Soft-reset your HTC HD2
Then japanese characters should show up everywhere and be linked correctly.
inputting chinese is not what he asked. that is related to ezinput and another ballgame. rhats funny that the sunglobe patch i have CAN do both chinese and japanese. so dont have to confuse the person who requested for it.
does anyone have the link to the sunglobe cab? i tried to find it but couldn't....

Maybe you didn't try hard enough.... a simple search of "sunglobe cab" in Google turned up quite a few results.
This link shows how to display Korean on the phone (I can confirm it works).

I am pretty sure you can substitute the Korean font for Chinese.
thanks i found the sunglobe cab, just waiting to test it out now

I read in the CooTek TouchPal forum about users complaint that the current version 4 has got a problem with Chinese input if the phone is running WM 6.5.
My suggestion is to read my post with regards to Traditional/Simplified Chinese input, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647307

hi gregwee, so do you have the english version or the chinese version? i was looking at getting one shipped over from hk (im in australia) because i wanted english interface with chinese display/input like yours, so i asked them about that and they told me there is an english only version and a chinese only version and that i had to pick one or the other, but can't get both languages on the same phone...

Thats not true... I have both on my phone and its fine... but I use the ricky Chinese cab thats floating around somewhere... the 21mb version gives me full Chinese reading, sogou gives me a great ime (and i also have plumsip and touchpal but got rid of the A4 as it didnt work so well for me) and with the ricky cab I also get China PRC in my regional settings... before I would only get this with CE Star which I havent put on my phone as the others all do a better more finger friendly job...
