PLEASE HELP me to block private/restricted calls on my HTC FUZE - General Topics

PLEASE HELP me to block private/restricted calls on my HTC FUZE. I have a person calling me with private and or restricted number all night long...at least 40-50 times through out the night. on my HTC tilt I could set a no ring tone sound for the unknown calls....in the HTC fuze I don't see such option. I installed call firewall on it today and now its blocking ALL my calls
sorry If this is already answered but could not find a solution when searching the site...
any help would be much appricieated.....
Thanks

I guess you can address your cell phone operator and report this person to the police. And this will solve all your problems.

Two threads created in two areas, since this is related to a raphael I will close this one, carry on the discussion in the other thread please.

Hi digigem,
I know there have been a few posts about this, with uploads of apps aswell. Try searching for whitelist and or black list.
This should steer you in the right direction
digigem - please don't multiple post. 5 cross posts suggests a more deep seated psychological problem perhaps?
I'm deleting the irrelevant ones.

Identifying redirect phone calls?

Hello,
I did a search but I couldn't find the answer.
I have two mobile numbers and one it’s redirecting/forwarding all calls to the second.
On "normal" mobile phones (ex. nokia) it's easy to see if a phone call received on the second number is a redirect call from the first number or a direct call to the second because the redirect calls have a distinct icon.
But on my WM6 PDA there isn't any difference. How can I identify these calls?
Thanks in advance.
That is one of the few good things Symbian has that PPC does not, that and call recording. i just think it was left out. Why? i couldn't tell you. If you find a way to implement it please let us know.
Ok.
Thanks

Call Barring Software?

I have an Artemis (O2 Orbit) running wm5.
I'd like to block incoming calls from specific numbers. O2 won't help me with this, but it occurred to me that there's no reason why my phone should not be able to automatically reject certain numbers.
I looked in settings, but it will only allow me to block all incoming calls.
Is there a piece of software that will allow me to blacklist certain numbers?
Yes there is, see the below thread , takes a bit to set up but works quite well.
Good luck!.

I'm using Call Firewall mentioned above, and it works great & can be customized.
Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was after
some phones reported some problems... you can also search for CallBlock.. just incase.

How to block a caller?

Try as hard as I can to protect my phone nr. and e-mail address a marketing company got my phone number. I got a few spam texts from 77893. Verizon helped me put a block on the text. I have not received any in three days.
At the same time I started getting phone calls. A few had numbers, others were identified as (unknown) unavailable. With all the calls, about six a day there is never anyone there when I answer the phone.
Has anyone tried to block any callers on this phone or know of any feature to help block a number?
I was thinking of making a contact named (unknown) and applying a silent ring. But I think when a caller is matched up to a contact it is with a number, not a name. I have no number they are blocking it. Verizon has been very hands off on this problem and it is driving me crazy. Anyone have any suggestions?

This may help as it helped me. It isnt software or a tweak. Go to the National Do Not Call Registry website. It blocks your number from being called by telemarketers permanently if I am not mistaken. I got the same problem on my phone and after I registered my phone & my wifes, I didnt get calls anymore. Its a government program and is free. Here is a quote from their website....
"The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free."
Its not an instant solution as it does take up to 31 days but the good thing is that if they continue after the 31 day mark you can file a complaint on them. Go here. Hope this helps.

PS. This will have no effect on telemarketing calls from companies that you do business with because they have the right to call you unless you specifically tell them not to call you (ie. your cable company, your credit card company, ect.)
Give Magicall a try. I've been using it for years. It even has the ability to pick up a call and instantly drop it (the caller only hears a click and they are disconnected) It even filters SMS.

Thanks for the reply with Magicall. I am on the Federal Do not Call list. If someone still calls you can report them, but it clearly says on the FTC website that no one will research it
Verizon will block the unknown/unavailable callers for $5.00 per month! Surprise, surprise they figured out how to make money off the problem.
I will get Magicall.
I use vz and block numbers from time to time on the very slow vz website.. if you go under your account then over to the spam control section you can block 5 numbers but they only are for a limited time they usually have given up by then but you can just re-list it

Not able to receive calls while browsing on 2g/edge/gprs

Hi All,
I have been facing an issue while receiving calls when I'm using EDGE/GPRS on my HTC sensation. The calls dont get through to me. Apparently most of the HTC desire users are facing the same issue and the person calling me gets the not reachable message.
Is there any fix/workaround for this issue?
Thanks,
Priyank
Why is this in the development thread though??
This sounds like you need to change your APN settings.
In the future Please use search and you have over 30 posts so i KNOW you know this doesn't belong here.
