Application to stop incoming calls - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 2005 Upgrading

Hi, I don't know if a post has been put up, but I don’t know what to search for. I was wondering if any knew of any software on windows mobile 5 which will enable me to block specific incoming calls from my phonebook or calls as private or unknown numbers and sms/text messages.
Need something like this badly
MDA pro

Hi digigem,
I know there have been a few posts about this, with uploads of apps aswell. Try searching for whitelist and or black list.
This should steer you in the right direction

digigem - please don't multiple post. 5 cross posts suggests a more deep seated psychological problem perhaps?
I'm deleting the irrelevant ones.

looking for Verizon phone that will block numbers

Hi all,
I found this site by searching on this question. I have a friend that needs to block a number. As many of you know the cell companies will not block numbers. In looking around I've found programs that you can load into win based phones that will accomplish this. These smart phones are a little out of their price range. I want something that will just disconnect the call. The silent ringer to voicemail will not work in this case as the person leaves highly insulting messages and they would rather not have to go through 20 messages to get to the one good one.
i have found some references to Nokia phones that have this option on their phones under the "Security" section. I went to the Verizon store but the counter help was worthless. None of the phones that they had on display (that I could look at) had that feature. I'm thinking its a newer version of firmware thats not loaded by verizon by default.
Is anyone here using a phone on the verizon network that has the ability to add numbers to a blocked list? If so can you please post the name and model number of the phone. Please also post if you had to download a new/different version of the phone firmware. I'd like to get my facts straight before I recommend anything to them. Maybe a smartphone is the only way to go.
thanks for any information you can provide
Not a phone, but good software...
PocketMax PhoneAlarm allows you to block any numbers that you choose to blacklist. It has an option for pick up/hang up (immediate - phone doesn't even ring) as well as send straight to voice mail and/or reply via SMS. (It will also block text messages.)
I use it and swear by it. hth
There are plenty of programs out there that will block calls and sms.
Search for "BLACK LIST" or "BLOCK" in Windows Mobile and you'll turn up alot of them.
thanks for the reply's guys. At this point a smartphome is a little out of her price range. If it keeps up I'll just spot her the cash once i get a few checks in the bank. She's good for it
I'm also gonna pop into one of the bigger verizon stores around here and browse their phones to see if i can find the elusive block feature
I use my blacklist in SPB Phone Suite, then shoot it over to youmail.com where they hear a "your num. is blocked" message then hangs up on them.

Grouping call history WM5 and WM6.

Hi All,
I am using a HTC Wizard running WM5.0, I also have HTC Hermes running WM 6.0. I would like to know if there is a way to ask the call history to permanently group the calls based on the caller.
For instance lest assume that I called Joe 10 times and he called 10 times, the call history would show 20 entries, one for each call. Instead, I would like to group all the calls from Joe into one entry, which should show the phone number and the time of the last call. Once you open this item, then it should show all the calls ever made and received by Joe and their times numbers etc.
WM6.0 has the ability to show all the calls made by Joe once you open the the item Joe from within the call history. But still, it would not group all Joe's calls into one entry in the call history itself which is what I want to see.
So, is there a way to do this? Or is there a software which can do this?
Yes, I know about menu->Filter->By caller. But this one is temporary and you have to pick the name from the list. Which is not what I am looking for.
I am NOT sure about what the dialers do. Can they help me accomplish this? Perhaps the diamond dialer?
Thank you for your comments in advance.

Call Barring Software?

I have an Artemis (O2 Orbit) running wm5.
I'd like to block incoming calls from specific numbers. O2 won't help me with this, but it occurred to me that there's no reason why my phone should not be able to automatically reject certain numbers.
I looked in settings, but it will only allow me to block all incoming calls.
Is there a piece of software that will allow me to blacklist certain numbers?
Yes there is, see the below thread , takes a bit to set up but works quite well.
Good luck!.

I'm using Call Firewall mentioned above, and it works great & can be customized.
Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was after
some phones reported some problems... you can also search for CallBlock.. just incase.

Disconnected Number app?

I apologize if this already exists, but I was unable to find anything on Google or the forums here.
I'm wondering if it's feasible to create an apk that will do the following:
Upon incoming call, check the number. If it exists in a database of user-added numbers, or is Unknown/Private (if this setting is selected), then the call is answered by the phone automatically (without playing a ringtone), the mic is shut off, and it plays back a recording of the "The number you have dialed is not in service". Set it to disconnect after 30 seconds or so, if the other end of the call doesn't end it themselves.
I believe this would be useful as a sort of black-listing program, and should anyone call that number while blacklisted, they would most likely remove the number from their list. I see this being beneficial for telemarketers, collections calls, Ex-boyfriends/ex-girlfriends, that stranger in the bar you gave your number out to after you had too much to drink, etc.
While I realize there are a number of call-blocking programs out there, I think the main selling point of this would be that it would stop the calls from coming from that source.
Sorry if a thread like this exists somewhere, or even an app, but I couldn't find anything. I've just been thinking about this a lot lately, and while I have some experience programming, I have yet to touch anything for the Android OS.
Thanks!
check the market for a callblock app, shold be what your looking for
Not exactly. The call blocking applications I've seen so far either send them directly to voicemail, or pick up the call and immediately hang up on them.
The primary difference I'm looking for is muting the microphone and playing back a message prior to hanging up the call.
Does this already exist? If not, is it possible to create? Again, I have no experience coding for Android, so I don't know what we can and cannot do, although I imagine it probably would be possible, preferably without root (so as to reach a wider audience).
i believe you can do this with google voice.
i think if you mark the number as spam or block it in google voice it plays that type of message.
The only problem with that, is it requires the use of the Google Voice number, right? Which does not help for those who already have the current number. See OP:

I apologize for this needing to be moved. My original question was actually whether or not it was possible, but this turned more into a "Try this app" thread.

i believe if you end up using google voice for voice mail (where you dont have to have a gv number) it does this also.

missed call notification app for windows mobile smartphone

OK, Any one has noticed that Windows Mobile 6.1 makes a threaded history for each contact / number in your call history?
Also i don't know why its sorting out contacts by name rather latest calls first.
When i was asleep, i got two missed calls. When i woke up, I couldn't even find those numbers who made the missed calls. How pathetic, I figured that out 30 minutes later after going through my entire call history of almost 150 numbers, which persons were calling me while i was asleep.
Is there any tweak that I can sort out calls as "Latest first" in my call history rather showing contacts in a descending order and make me play hide and seek for another hour?
PLEASE NOTE THAT ITS WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1 FOR SMARTPHONE
I know this feature is in WM6.x for pocket pc
