Non Camera Edition ROM for Kaiser

Hi,
Anyone know of any ROM for Kaiser with the Camera Function Disable?
The organization that I work at does not allow Phones with Camera Function.
What can be allowed is, disable the Camera in the ROM, and then Seal off the Camera with Security Stickers.
It’ll be great if someone can assist.

I haven't seen a rom like that. I don't have a camera on mine (Tilt NC aka 8900) but have you looked at physically removing the camera. If its anything like my 8125 was I was able to take the back cover off, remove the camera (its a tiny little daughter board that just plugs in) and put the back cover on. The lens was still there so it prevented dust from getting in and if you looked into the lens you could see the camera was missing and see down into the device. Once the camera was removed if you hit the camera button all it did was open Pictures & Videos.

Cover / remove the camera lense, then re-assign the camera button so it points to something else.
Go to windows / start menu / programs and delete the shortcut to camera
go to windows/ and delete camera.exe
I would guess that would do the same as a rom with no camera except the registry entries would still be there. The good thing about this though is a hard reset would put it back like it was should you change jobs or sell the phone.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'll still need a Non Camera Edition ROM.
The problem is, security officers will go to the extend of hard reset your PDA and check if the camera will work thereafter.
It'll be great if someone can help.

There are no non-camera ROMs. The 8925 and the 8900 use the same ROM (as do the 8500/8525 and the 8100/8125). Whether or not the camera functions work is if the camera hardware is installed or not.
Physically remove the camera from the device and it disables all the functions in the ROM.
The problem with only having it disabled in the ROM is there would be nothing to stop someone from running a cab file and restoring the camera function once inside the restricted area. If your security officer allows this to pass as acceptable then the site has piss poor security procedures.
If I find the manual later I'll post the link. The only one I have here right now is the one for the Wizard (8125) as I took that one apart to remove the camera on it.

Flashed RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE Losts camera Video and features

I have a ATT Tilt Kaiser
i did the hardspl, then i flashed DCSv1.5-WM6.1.rar to the phone. Everything is working fine as far as i can tell, but when i turn my camera on, Ive lost the panaramic photo / sport / and other differnt picture options and i cant take video anymore. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks in advance

What camera version are you using?
Go to this registry setting and tell me.
HKLM_Software_OEM_MASD
scroll down till you see camera.

camera works but viewfinder black

I have a very strange problem... I have a german MDA Vario IV (Raphael) and I recently flashed ROMEOS 1.12, then HTC StockROM and after a couple of days it first happened, that my camera viewfinder is completely black. The camera, however, works, i.e. it takes pictures which I can view in the album.
When I tap the screen in camera mode, I see the 3 symbols, but when I tap the preferences-wheel, nothing happens.
When Romeos 1.40 (German) came out, I flashed it - and I still have the problem. I don't quite understand it, as it worked first with the HTC Rom and after about 14days it stopped working.
Do you have any help?

I just had the same problem. Fixed by doing a hard reset...

did you flash a new radio?

I just registered to report this same issue.
I just picked up my fuze today, and was going through the steps in the noob guide before I decided to stop and just let the phone install the regular software so I could at least activate it before a new bill kicked in before the account got cancelled.
Right before I stopped going through the noob guide, I got as far as doing a soft reset right before the installing ATT bloatware and was removing some options in the guide and restarting. Then, since I just wanted to activate the phone (I had no SD card to safely try out all the steps in the noob guide, and wanted to wait for it), I did a hard reset.
After I activated my phone, I've been trying out my camera and it just shows a black screen. If I touch the screen the three buttons show up and clicking on the buttons don't do anything. Though, if I hold the enter key it clicks and takes a picture which shows up in my album.
I'm going to wait till my SD card comes in before I do another hard reset to do the install again. Hopefully the hard reset fixes the issue.

Still no one else with this issue? I have flashed NATF 4.5 as well as energy 2.0 . I have changed to two different radios and this problem has persisted. Everything works fine at first, but then within a couple of days it goes black. Everything is exactly as others have reported. Pictures take, the touch screen menus work ( selecting any setting ).... its just the viewfinder that is acting goofy. Soft resetting it will occasionally make it work again. It makes me feel as though some of us have some software somewhere that isnt acting as it should. I googled the issue to no avail.
Any gurus able to shed some light on this matter?

I am running Shep's 3.0 rom with the new 1.12.25.19 radio and I have just recently had this viewfinder problem arise as well. I am about to flash Shep's new 3F and will check the camera after hard reset.
Is anyone running additional programs when this arises? I had thought there was a conflict with freecaddie as I was on the golf course when I noticed the problem but maybe this is more widespread?

It must be as I dont play freecaddy. I can post all of the addons I have used...maybe theres something in common?

Of the programs you listed, Skyfire is the only one I am also running. I just completed my flash and turned the camera on prior to installing any apps, cabs, etc... and the viewfinder worked fine.
I am in the process of adding my customizations back on, doing a PIM restore, and installing cabs and will edit my post later to report whether it continues to function correctly.

After setting things up the way I like them and a full day of use, the viewfinder still works fine. I am baffled as to the cause but as long as its works I won't complain.
To those still having the problem, I would recommend a hard reset at a minimum or perhaps try a new rom.

This was an issue with RRE's roms a while back. Not sure what he did to fix it but I know he tweaked a flashed new versions about 100 times in one day! I would post the question in your respective rom's threads and see if the cooks have a better idea. I would bet that there is a file or setting common to all of the roms listed here that is causing the problem.

The Black screen happens to me, if too much sunlight gets thru on superfine settings. (i hold it facing directly into the sun) It seems to blow out the picture (goes all white) -then theres no display at all (black) unless i exit camera and restart.

there is a fix for this on the htc asia site, if you go to the support tab and look at the downloads for touchpro, I am not sure its for all phone as it asked for my serial number and told me it was not for my phone, on this site at least it seemed to be for hong kong, singapore & china, Perhaps check the htc site for your location.

Dutty's Rom (serious bugs)

Okay So I followed a video tutorial that said right now the Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06[CubeV2]
was the best rom out there. So i installed it. I like the rom alot except it has some bugs that I cannot overlook, was wondering if there was a fix or a recommended upgrade from this Rom.
The bug I hate the most is the keyboard. First it was mapped wrong, but I installed the Tilt fix cab, which fixed that. But now the keyboard spacebar lags. So if i type at a decent speed the spacebar doesnt register being pressed at the right time. For example if i typed : "Hello, how are you doing today? " it would come out as " Hello,h owa rey oud oingt oday"
At first i thought it was maybe my error, that I developed some sort of bad habit of pressing the spacebar at the wrong time. But i sat there and was careful and indeed its the phones fault.
The next bug which I just noticed recently since I havnt had a reason to use it since now, is the video on the camera. When I press record it only records for 9 seconds even though I have it set to no limit. If i keep trying some times it goes past 9 seconds but the video freezes at that point, the counter still goes up and I'm forced to soft reset the phone to get out of it. I tried installing the HTC camera cab , with no effect.
Should i change roms or Is there a fix for this?

I don't believe dutty has touched these ROMs in almost a year now, and he has moved onto the HD, I believe.
Better to look at some of the more recent ROMS, like Garmin, PDA Corner, etc. and forget working with the Dutty ones.

Welcome to 2009 from 2008 , Dutty did so great work in this forum last year, but you need an updated YouTube video. Where did you get a video saying that was the best ?
As stated above, start exploring 2009 , you will love it here

I doubt you will find anyone with new information. Have a search/read through the Threads from dutty or try flashing one of the newer ROMs, a few have been suggested above.

Front camera not working after installing custom rom. Please help :(

So I just decided to unblock bootloader, recovery and all that stuff to get on the custom rom.
Have been tried 2 rom: Evolution X and Pixel Exp
The rom seems to be working perfectly fine and the camera app as well but when I switch to the front camera, it just crashes all the time for any camera applications, I can use the camera and toggle the front camera then slide the phone down a bit and actually seeing the camera works through the small light gap appear on the screen but as soon as the slider full slides down, the app just stops right away without any warning.
How do I troubleshoot this ? Does anyone here encounter the same thing ?
I facetime my mother a lot so this really sucks for these recent couple of days already. Should I switch back to og software ?

Just swap back the rom and tried the app. Well it still doesn't work. Its go black screen for a sec and close the application.
None of the application with front camera works as well.
Is this a common thing ?

No, it seems like you are the only one with this problem. If it above does not solve it, I don't know.

This is a known issue. Start the camera, switch to portrait mode, then switch to FFC. It works fine with the latest Google camera port than with the Xiaomi camera. Once the app has crashed, to recover it, dismiss the app from Recents.

I had it too i switched back to stock then i formated from twrp then if you don't know what to do when you dont have an os don't freak out just connect it to the pc and drag and drop the files/rom into the phone install and you should be good to go
