SYNCHRONISATION PROBLEM

I have been facing this problem with Active Sync for a while now. Whenever I try to re-synchronise with my notebook pc after the initial boot, the following message appears:
Synchronisation cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the network and access information. Restart your desktop computer and synchronise again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator.
I only synchronise with my notebook pc and not a server. I do not understand why I have to reboot my notebook everytime I need a full synchronisation.
Please help if anyone has resolved a similar problem. Thanks.

Activesync error message - inbox : attention required

Hi
When i hook my xda2i with my p.c and use active sync i keep getting an error message saying inbox : attention required, but it does'nt tell me how to rectify the error or why.
any ideas please.
Go into the activesync settings and remove the check mark from the Inbox. You will no longer have the inbox syncing (or trying to).
Hope this helps..........Later 8)

Exchanger Server Activesync connection

Hi,
I synchronise my wm2005 device with the exchange server,my contacts and appointments. However, a wierd problem arises.
It managed to sync ok but the contacts on the device will only sync part of the list, around 100 items.
The activesync screen will show all is synchronised but on the device only part of the list from the outlook is seen..
Anyone have this problem as well??

ActiveSync on ALL 6.1 ROMS don't sync with Exchange Server 2003

Hi all,
I've tried all 6.1 roms and have found that Active Sync refuses to sync via 3G wirelessly with Exchange Server 2003.
I did:
Uncheck proxy.
Reloaded local telecomm settings
tried sync cal, contacts, individually with no go.
Did hard reset all roms after flash
Any comments/ suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Avi
Not sure, working for me.
Maybe its your radio?
Works fine for me, on every single WM6.1 ROM I have tried.
There must be something wrong with your specific config.
Ditto. No problems here on many roms and radios

did you add the ssl cert?
No Problems
I have tried at least 5 different 6.1 ROM's and they have all synced with our Exchange 2003 cluster over 3G.
I have too any problems with Active-Sync on MS Exchange 03......
might be useful if you gave us more details.
Such as, does it sync over wireless lan, or activesync or anything.
Does it give an error code of any sort ?
If you have not figured this out already.. this may resolve the issue
You need to disable the proxy:
go to Settings --> Connections --> Connections --> Advanced (tab at bottom of the page) --> Select Networks.
Change the network from 'My ISP' to 'MEdia Net', then click Edit. Now you should have the Proxy tab where you can disable it.

I disabled proxy server. It connects via active sync (3G) then says Synchronizing folder....Looking for changes.....then it says "attention required" Sync could not be completed. If condition persists try deleting then re-creating....view support code ...0x8503001C
works for me just fine, i run on ssl but i just tested with non ssl and work fine, what is the error message that active sync gives?

odd...but try this.
Go under your settings after setting up everything normally, and uncheck tasks from the things that will be sync'd.
Worked for me.

any flavor of the 6.1 works on me also. can you check if your exchange account has mailbox size limitations. i once encountered your scenario and it was caused by my mailbox size limitation.
if this is the case either request that your mailbox limitation be increased or archive your server data on a pst located in your local cmputer.
just a thought.
Actually I'm having an issue when trying to sync my Kaiser with WM 6.1 with two different computers: If I set up the active sync connection on the second computer, syncing on the first computer will always fail until I reestablish the connection. If I do this, syncing on the second computer will fail.
Is this going to be fixed in the final WM 6.1 version?
obii
I assume you had this working on the same phone, same Exchange server but with WM6?
For OTA, are you able to browse (using PIE) to https://your-activesync-public-server-name/oma ? (or http if you're not using SSL)
Internally on your LAN are you able to browse on your PC AND phone, to http://your-activesync-private-server-name/oma ? (or https if you're not using SSL internally as well)
Either way, it works perfectly fine for me using WM6.1...
I had the same problem with my activesync, my work exchange is 2003 as well. It was having a lot of problems on the initial sync so i connected to my wifi and i think because of just how much stuff i synced it helped. Once the initial sync was completed I have problems from time to time with it not being able to connect and a soft reset does the trick. I was getting the same exact support code you were as well.
That error code indicates a corrupt calendar or contact entry. Any device would fail regardless of WM5 - WM6.1. You can change your setting so that it does not sync calendar and contacts to see which it is. Then you can use a process of elimination to find out which entry is the bad one and delete it from the message store.

I had that same error code before and it wasnt a corrupt Calendar entry, it was a huge one because it had a couple file attachments. If i did my initial setup in a 3G area or on WiFi it worked fine.

That's a quit unusual errornumber. I work a lot with Exchange and had to debug active sync problems very often. Here you can find a quite usful list of errornumbers, their meaning and possible solutions: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/activesync/exchange_errors.php
The error you get itn't on the list unfortunately. Is a wired sync possible?

[Q] Outlook Exchange Email Problems

Ok guys so when I go to a website to check my webmail I get a certificate error. It doesnt matter what phone, computer, or tablet I use.
h t t p s ://webmail.pottsvilleschools.org/owa/
I have tried to install the certificate and it works but still get the issue. Problem is I am trying to setup my phone to check my email and it always says there is a certificate error. But on my Ipad or my wifes android it tells me there is also a certificate error the first time I try to sync but from then on it syncs fine. Almost like it ignores there error one I say ok. Why will WP7.5 not ignore this problem? Or at least off a solutions? You guys have any ideas on how I can get this to sync? I know there is an issuse with the certificate not matching the web address. But beyond fixing the actual certificate are there any other options?
Thanks
Same as myself, ipod syncs with exchange no problem, my WP7 wont.
I had this fault and another guy online found the fix for it.
1. Remove the current OWA account from your phone.
2. Install the certificate again.
3. Reboot phone.
4. Add the OWA account again.
That worked for me. Without the reboot it gave the error you have now.

I just tried what you said but I still get the certificate error. Crazy stuff
I had the error the first time. Had to export the certificate from my computer, emailed it to my gmail account, opened it on the phone and then the error went away.
Can't sync contacts though with the OWA Exchange server. Ended up exporting my exchange contacts to a CSV and importing them into Gmail so all my phone numbers show up through that account. It's sloppy but it'll work.
Still get a error
"There is a problem with the certificate for ******. Contact a support person or your service provider.
Error code :80072F0D"
So if this cant be done hwo can I go about geting the certificate fixed? Would the admin know how to do that? Hes not very smart. Mostly lazy. haha
I think your admin or IT should be able to know how or where to go to get this fixed. The other option is to ask if there is an exchange activesync server you can tie into for this email account.

You probarbly need the root certificate of the issuing CA for the phone to recognize the certificate chain. As far as I can see, yours is self-signed, so there is no certificate chain.
Simply importing a copy of the self-signed certificate does not work on your phone (been there). WP7 obviously does not have the certificate stores like Windows, or it puts them in the wrong one.
If you have the knowledge I would advice to go for CACert.org certificates. They are free (your protected systems need renewal every 6 months though), and your good to go when installing the CACert root certificate.
