ok so i installed the diamond background changer and decided it wasnt for me so i uninstalled it... there was a setting in there that made it so that the wallpaper changer would change the background upon the next startup... now that i deleted the program it evidently forgot to take that setting out of the startup so whenever i soft reset i get an error message saying that the program cannot be found and all that...
anyone know where i can go to get rid of this message? what registry settings i can undo?
also for some reason there is a sceen that comes up for a few seconds asking me to put in my settings for the media net server log on? anyone know what this is all about?

Go to windows>start up> and delete the short cut from there.
brilliant! thank you! didnt realize it waws that simple.. thought i had to delete something in the registry!

Run this .cab on your device. It will hide the carrier logo.
hi
thanks for your cab but
i tryed your file but it doesn't work.
I tryed this file also and it does not work . I have Vodafone logo . . .
Have you hidden the lookup field?
Left Soft Key, Menu->Preferences->Hide lookup field.
This needs to be ticked for this hack to work correctly.
I also had to uncheck/check the setting in the "today settings" to get ti to kick in.

Thank you, it does work fine .
thanks for the tip now it works.
This worked at first, right after the first soft reset it removed the Cingular name and bluetooth icon (after "hide lookup field"). But soon after my Treo locked up. Upon soft reset the Today screen was frozen, and the device was completely locked up. Soft reset again, same thing. Only way to fix was to hard reset.
Tried the patch again, same results, but this time upon the first soft reset it did the lock up right away.
Anybody else have this issue? I really want to remove the useless carrier, bluetooth since screen space is so limited, but this solution seems too evasive.
it seems that the hidelogo app also hides the date, even though i've enable the date to be displayed on the Today screen

hmmmm, me too. Anybody found a fix for this?
Hey, check this out... Maybe somebody already did.
Change [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\ "Dial Lookup"\"Enabled"] to 0
Then you can re-enable the date in your today settings, the loss of course is the dial box, however, if while on the Today screen just start typing one of your contacts, a list that I've never seen comes up and you can just hit call!
Not sure I like the setup but it gives more real-estate on the Today Screen
I tried that. Still lost the date as well as the logo.
Had to put the logo back because I do want the date on the today screen....
It Works !!!
Just downloaded this little app - it works perfectly !
Great to recover that little piece of wasted real-estate from my tiny, crowded Treo screen.
Many thanks !
After installing that CAB the only part of my today screen that is visible it the 10 pixels high section where the carrier logo was. I can still scroll that tiny area down and see that all my other today info is there, but it only shows up in the 10 pixel window.
Ideas?
hi there!
I downloaded JUVS HTC Large Titlebar and HTC Enlarge Start menu CABs and installed both on my E-TEN M800 (VGA).
They installed fine and I now have the "large start menu" item in my system settings.
But when I check the checkbox to turn it on, it still doesnt enlarge.
I rebooted the device and still nothing. I basically only need the zooming of the notification icons in the start-bar.
have I missed something? do i need additional files?
thanks
Bernhard
the old one just for QVGA, try this one, but dun know can it work on ETEN
thanks, but it doesn't work.
maybe it needs touchFLO so its only activated when you use the finger? or something like that?
No touchflow wouldnt make a difference on this. Unfortunatly some of the items on here will only work with HTC devices and i think this may well be one of them im afraid. Unless anyone else can shed any light
Tried the Large Start Menu once on my iPAQ, and what I found was that the service (htcStartMenuService.dll) doesn't automatically start. Using DotFred's Taskmanager to manually start the service made the large start menu appear... until the next soft reset.
The same thing probably happens with the large titlebar thing.
thanks ridolfo, this works!
now i have to find a way to start it automatically on reboot
makes my e-ten even more userfriendly!
edit: i just added this nice and useful taskmanager to my StartMenu and on reboot, i open it, go to the services tab and click the little start icon for the LargeTitleBar service. thats it.
works like a charm.
IIRC, you can even open it on the services tab, using a command-line switch. Have a look in the "About" screen for possible command-line switches (I think it's in the "About" screen, but I'm not sure).
I'm still hoping that someone can explain why some of the HTC services do auto-start, but others don't.
yes, because when you install the LargeTitleBar it correctly creates its entry in the Registry and is bound to be started, but somehow it doesnt.
In my brand new HTC Touch Cruise, large menu option is ticked, but after playing around with apps or settings it becomes small, allthough it's still ticked. I have to disable and reenable it to make it big again. It's a bit of a problem, as it happens often. Advice would be appreciated.
same problem
couldn't this problem be fixed by some registry entires ?
I mean to put an application into autostart shouldn't be a problem, well for me, as a hardcore newp it is acutally, but maybe not fo you guys
on my xperia x1 i've got the same problem .
large start menu

Hi! at all!
Have you found a solution?
Recently after doing a hard reset i keep getting this box that pops up when i get a new text message. this never happened before, it started after i did the hard reset. it looks like something from another app, i have attached a pic; see the box that has the 'Reply Call Delete' options and the arrows(that takes up more than 1/2 my screen). my problem is that this interfere's with M2D's SMS page and i want to get rid of it, but there is no other program that is installed that would cause something like this to happen.
ETEN M600 w/ Kozhura's custom WM6.1 ROM
M2D Update 14
NO other contact management/SMS programs installed.
Have you checked your notification options screen to ensure that the option for it to display a notification message is unchecked?
Also, from the skinning of that, if the above doesn't work, is this a new ROM flash? perhaps it's an application included in the ROM.
Have you installed ANY other interface, whether SMS specific or not, that might have that screen there as a "feature" of sorts?
Yeah, i've already checked the notification message and unchecked it
Nope, same ROM
The only other interface I've installed is Manila2D, even when I used M2D before nothing of this sort happened
I appreciate you trying to help me out though, Thanks.
Your screenshot looks like Zoom SMS.

Thanks Tomdoodly, I guess I should of just searched more, thanks for your help though.
EDIT: I feel retarded now, its so simple, i dont know how i missed it. All I had to do was go into Phone/Settings/Apprciation Software/ and disable everything!!
I recently downloaded the ROM update for my FUZE seeing how the software I was using on it was back in November of 2008. Now it seems that when I get a text message my screen turns on. I normally wouldn't mind this but when it's in my pocket it'll push buttons and other things. I was wondering if there is a way to prevent the screen from turning on when I get a text message. And help would be appreciated.
try this
go to "settings" and then "sounds & notifications". tab over to "notifications" and then go to "messaging: new text message". Uncheck the box that says "display message on the screen".
i have no idea if this will work. but worth a try.
There's an option under most Advance Configs for "Phone Turns One Upon New SMS" or something worded similar. That's what you want.

Where do I find advanced configs? Is this a program that I have to download or is it already on the phone?
Okay so I'm look at the advanced config but I can't seem to find anything about the screen turning on at all
Anyone got any ideas?
New text message
Is there any why that text messages dont have to be checked one by one. It gets annoying that after i reply to the a message i still have to highlight it in order for it to register that it has been read.
This was just answered for me in the thread for the newest ROM. The registry setting for it is under HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent. Set it to 1.
And yeah, text messages not showing up as read unless clicking on them is getting old fast.

Where do I find the registry settings? Sorry but I'm new at this stuff and I have no idea where to find that kind of thing.
Hi. I was messing with my phone last night and thought it would be a great idea to put a passcode lock on my messaging.well, i cant remember the pattern and now cannot get 2my messages. I am using handcent. I can get into the security settings and change/disable it for the home screen but i dont see anything for messaging. It was really late when i did this and i was functioning on half a brain cell, if that.i dont remember where i was when i set it..dugh..I hope i dont have 2do a hard reset but if so, oh well. Can someone please help me? I am using the stock rom btw. Thank you
I'm not sure where the files are located but I would start by locating the configuation files for handcent and deleting them. You'll lose all your customization on the settings, but it should eliminate the passcode.
Another thought: Can you access the messages in the stock messaging app?
go into settings>applications>manage applications> all> find the messaging app select it, and clear data. Post with results.
wahoo :-}
Thanks guys...I uninstalled the message majigger and it worked. No more tryin 2get all James bond super spy and lock all my stuff and then lock the stuff that's locking the stuf..lol...I appreciate ur time, for reals :
