wallpaper fades on today screem : ( - General Questions and Answers

hey,
i just installed Wisbar Advance 3, and put the Vista Pocket theme onto it. I went to the today screen options and changed the wallpaper to by pointu_bg.jpg file i have attached. I checked the today screen, but the wallpaper is all faded and the colours are almost white. any ideas how to fix this? thanks
thanks,
vapour

sounds like you told it to use transparency, when selecting your wallpaper, make sure you set that to 0.

Have you tried what Travio suggested? Use the default Pictures and Videos app and you will able to adjust the transparency setting.

mienh's part was missing... now I remember how to do that...
Thx to both

BTW theres actually 2 ways on setting a wallpaper. One's using Windows Mobile today settings screen, and the other is by setting the wallpaper at the phones TF3D settings itself.

oo it worked. thank youuu : ). i used to do it by the today screen settings, but then i tried it with pictures and video and set the transparancies to 0 and it worked perfectly.
thanks : D

today screen question

I have a palm treo 800w running windows mobile 6.1 and i wanted to set a different today screen background, one that i had downloaded from the internet. When i set the background it's in tile mode instead of stretch and the picture doesnt entirely show. What do i need to do to get the picture to show up entirely. I was also wondering about when i add a theme with a wallpaper in it. The wallpaper doesnt show up so really it's just changing the color of the task bars, any ideas?

Problem with wallpaper too light

So I'm having trouble with my today wallpaper and the TF3D background wallpaper. I'm using the first image as the jpg (480x640) as the wallpaper. It looks fine. The second and third pictures are my today screen and home touchflo screens. You should be able to tell that the wallpaper is faded now, but on my SecondToday screen the wallpaper looks fine. Is there something I can do to correct this problem? I've searched the forums and all throughout my device, but I can't find a way to correct the problem.
I'm using Energy ROM 2 with Showaco's backgroup wallpaper for all tabs. Is there a way I can bypass the setting of the wallpaper and just copy the image as another name? Where is the wallpaper stored?
If you set your wallpaper in your Today settings it automatically gives it like 40% transparency. No way I have found to change this. However, if you go to Manila settings and change it there, it should have no transparency.
If that doesn't work, try setting your manila wallpaper with this program.
Also for the actual today screen, try this program if you like it to change occassionally.
Thanks Bruce for the suggestions. The Diamond background changer didn't work either. I really don't care about the Today screen being faded, but the manila wallpaper being faded is really annoying.
Anyone else have a suggestion?
Sorry man, I don't have these issues at all.
My backgrounds all look fine.
Go to Pictures and Video (the default picture viewer), and select your picture. Then, select "Use this as home screen / background".

this is the key..no extra apps and 100% success everytime....
I found a solution. I uninstalled Showaco's All tabs background and reinstalled it and it fixed the problem. I don't know what caused it to begin with, but at least now its' fixed.

Should work for both
I can find no Home.WallpaperMode at the HKCU/Software/HTC/manila...
I'm using the latest TESS Pride (IV).
Thank you very much for this!

It's not working on Dutty's HG8. The dword is already set to 0 but the weather anim in home screen is still animating.
Edit: Damn i feel like a stupid. set 0 to 1 eh.
Alright its working now. Thanks boys.
Great, works for me - even without a soft reset or restarting Sense.
I had 0 to start with and set it to 1. The Weather Tab itself is unchanged and still has the animation........... in case I miss it
Cheers
John
Thanks heaps for this! It was driving me crazy and wasting battery and making it difficult to read the home screen in rainy weather...
It looked cool for about the first 2 days then got annoying.
The key can be replaced by "2" instead of "1" (works with NhatHoa Rom 6.5.x).
if all above doesn't work try
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593988
in my case the solution was to set to "x"
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila/HomeBackgroundPath
(Gooru M3.1Fix ROM)

You have to create the value if you don't see it.
dword value name Home.WallpaperMode, than
value =1
This worked on my Tilt2 on the ROM in my sig.
No weather on clock look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656240
the way to disable animation is way easier than messing with the registry. somewhere on here a week ago i read that all you have to do is set your wallpaper in the "animated wallpaper" option when you change it through manila. so instead of selecting a wallpaper using "weather wallpaper" use the "animated wallpaper" option to set. even if you dont use an animated wallpaper, your device thinks you are and it will disable the weather animation to let your "non animated" wallpaper animation run on the homescreen. i do hate the rain animation because its like 2 frames per second. hope this helps!
they are not talking about the full-screen animation, but about the small weather icon under the clock.
I tried to change the Home.WallpaperMode from 0 to 3 with no luck... the image on the background changed, but the weather icon under the clock remained...
thanks a lot
Nope, doesn't work for me, any other suggestions? My value is already at 1.
Nice, works fine. Thank you.
nice but what does these mode means?
My understanding is
0 = Weather animation on top of wall paper
1 = Weather icon present but no weather animation
2 = Weather icon present, no weather animation, yes animated wallpaper (if the wallpaper you choose is an animated format. IF using a plain, static jpeg then mode 2 works the same as mode 1)

"Lock-Screen" wallpaper changer ?

Hello,
I wonder if anyone knows a program that can change "Lock-Screen"/Start wallpaper ? It should be able to open folder of wallpapers and that user could set time - "how often to change wallpaper".
Most of Wallpaper Changers / Switchers can change only Today's Screen wallpaper.
I need to to change wallpaper of Locked screen, for example once in a hour.

As long as it's changing the standard WinMo background then it will work just fine, the lock screen just uses the standard WinMo background for it's own. That's why it's the same as the screen that's behind the start menu.

I mentioned that most of software change only Today Wallpapers, but not "Lock-Screen" / Start wallpapers. Yes, Lock-screen and Start Menu wallpapers are the same, but is there software which can change it periodically ?
Anyone? I want to know too!
there is:
"BG4allTAB" or "background for all tabs" which makes the home tab background picture background for all other tabs (at least in manila 2.1)-not lockscreen.
there`s also "Jmz Lockscreen Changer v2.0" which is background picture changer for wm6.5 lock-screen.
hope this helps...
Im using this software on my touch HD (wm6.5) but it should work on HD2 also
this is for manual changing of walls, not automatic (periodically).

Lockscreen background also in other menu's

Since my update to WM 6.5 offical ROM my lockscreen background also displayed in other menu's (settings and my start menu). How can I change it that the background only is displayed at my lockscreen?

You should be able to set all of them through the settings tab, personalizations.
If not the start menu picture is found in windows folder stwater.jpg and the today screen is tdwater.jpg.

I don't know what you mean, maybe my English is to crap
So in my settings menu personlizations I can change my background, I've did that before and it just works fine. I can't remember that there was an option to get them all at my backgrounds.
How can I manage it that I can have my background only at my screen lock. If the rest is black I'm fine by that At the moment I'm using LockDevice, and I don't want to go back to S2U2 where I can manage it how I like it.

LockDevice is a simple utility and only used the default today background, unlike S2U2 that can be customized.
I suggest a program called AutoWallpaper Changer. You can set it to change Today, TF3D and S2U2 at various intervals. If you use TF3D, you can uncheck it to be changed and change the today screen which would then be picked up by LockDevice.
Sorry I do not have a better solution.
No problem, thnx anyway

WM 6.5 Lockscreen THEMES and FIXES (NEW DELAY FIX for Dusk Lockscreen 28-09-09 - CAB)
Look at post #38 on page 4 in this thread.
You have to edit the "LS_Global_480x800.cpr" file to be able to have
diffenrent backrounds in Lockscreen and WM 6.5 StartMenu.
It works on Topaz, I tried it myself.
