Anyone else having an issue with pink tint in the default camera app? If I knock the saturation back one level it seems to be fine. But set on default saturation it makes anything with even a hint of red in certain kinds of light turn bright pink.
Try this

Ok try this turn camera on focus on something white to see if u have pink spot . If so wave you hand slowly in front of the camera and let the camera focus on your hand and repeat until pink is gone
Gave that a shot. It appeared to help while I had the camera focused on the page. Using the camera again though and on default saturation it's still coming out pink. I'm wondering if this is a software issue or a hardware one. Have to decide by the 28th if I should go back and exchange this phone for another.
From my experience every HTC unit I have used does this in low light situations . But you can try to exchange and see if it helps.

That was what I was wondering. If this was an issue with my unit or if other people were having the same experience. When the lighting is good the tint does go away, for now keeping the saturation down one level seems to do the trick.
I have the same problem taking pictures oudside, with bright lighting. I take pictures of my chickens, and their heads look magenta, not red. I just lowered the saturation and took a test photo inside, and it seemed to help a bit. I have only had the phone for a week, and with the exception of the magenta chickens, I like the phone.
Mine does it too. My hunch is that its not a defect, and its never actually occurred to me that it might be. So I haven't compared with other HOX's to see if its a defect or not. I seems like its intentionally oversaturated by HTC to make the colors look more vivid. It usually looks ok. But sometimes it makes people's faces look like they have a ton of pink blush on their faces. I don't personally think its a low light issue. Seems to sometimes appear in sunlight too. But bright sunlight tends to wash out colors, so the pinks and reds are often not there to begin with (especially on faces), so there is nothing to oversaturate.
I remember in the sample photos taken with the phone and released by HTC before the phone was even released, and thinking they all looked really artificially oversaturated.
Hey guys, I bought my tf300t about a month ago & I noticed something that I hadn't really noticed with my cell phone. Every time I load solid colors, there are very faint darker colored lines going up the screen. They look kind of like when you record a home video & you record the TV. They look somewhat like this, though not as intense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sv7LkNE5II . They look more like waves rather than dark lines. I think its only on certain colors because it wont happen with red, or yellow. I noticed it when I was on the tumblr app & even on the google voice dark themed app. Is the screen supposed to be like that or is something wrong with the hardware? Thanks.

I just RMA'd my tablet only to find out it's banding because of a low quality image. Your tablet is fine :victory:
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246312
Thanks so much for answering. My questions never get answered. It seems like it only happens with the navy blue colors, so thanks for clearing that up!

There is a similar thread already, but the OP over there can't add a poll
Here is a poll , just for fun and the curiosity
Here you got a small video comparison till this beast hit the showrooms:
.
That video is what sold me on black. The horizontal bands don't appear to be as prominent as the grey was on the Note 2.
But you didn't vote

Yeah, I was going to get the white one until I seen that same video. The phone looks like color with the screen off, which I like.
I just think it's a shame, they didn't start with blue or red instead of that pink..
Perhaps they know better .... nah .......

It's only 12 votes so far, but I think the preference is already clear..
Can't imagine any other color catching up ....
.
I wish there was a grayish/silver color with a dark gray bezel, just like on my Titanium Note 2
But Jet Black will do ....
.
.
i went with the Jet Black as well...
Not a big fan of white phones, remind me of iphones and give apple fanboys another reason to say samsung copies apple. I wish samsung would do away with the white and do a nice slate/gray instead. Heck they got pink so why not....
My note 2 is white and i love it so note 3 also will be on white...
I had a white Note 2 and currently own a white S4 and white Galaxy Camera. I think they look really great but I fancy a change now and black looks better with the leather effect. I also think you get better screen contrast with the a black bezel.
I'm getting a black one.
Reason: It's black
I see that 5 ladies voted...
Just joking
.
Black for me. After seeing that video, I just think it looks better in black than in whit or pink.
The Galaxy Gear is Mocha Gray...
Since I am not in hurry of buying the Note3 ( eventually I will), I hope that till then there will be a Gray kinda of Titanium colored Note3 too ...
.
Black or darker bezels are way cooler
The back cover usually gets a case anyways
Does the black actually help to set the screen apart from the bezel as the video stated?
I'm really divided between black and white, and I'm trying to find a good reason to choose one over the other.

Black creates a better contrast against all the bright colors (this is why the display on white phones pop more when the screen is OFF). It makes the display pop more. The "black" however is not really a black. It's a darker grey-scale color than the titanium note 2, with the same horizontal striping but not as prominent. No doubt it will make the display pop more than white though. In light, the white is conceptually brighter than the display.
Hey guys I get into astronomy earlier this month. I need a good and visible green laser for astronomy use. I owned this .... green laser pointer astronomy .... but it is too weak for me to see the beam even in the dark. Just wonder if anyone here can recommend to me a good laser pointer? Thanks pointeurlasers.com/laser-astronomie.html
Well first off, what has this got to do with xda? second, i bought and use this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3PCS-5mw-Re...7135?pt=US_Laser_Pointers&hash=item5d37e18d1f
the green one is very good, beam is visible most of the time, the red one is also visible beam, but only at night, the purple one is only visible at very dark places, the red one will work at night in a city, the purple one won't. they are all cool, though.
Hey guys
I notice this is more about phones but i thought id try here anyway
