There's a free trial of their completely redesigned 3.5 concept version web browser:
http://www.access-company.com/products/netfrontmobile/browser/35_wm_tp.html
I've been playing around with it tonight and I'm very impressed. It basically has all the speed advantages of Opera Mini in a proxy-less browser. The page rendering is very fast in full desktop view, with a cool full page view for quickly navigating to the desired section. The scrolling is momentum based, just like the iphone. Even with huge web pages, the scrolling remains smooth and it allows you to browse the page easily while it is still loading.
Go download it and check it out. I think you guys will be impressed.

have tried this today, impressions so far:-
using WiFi - WOW
using GPRS - soooooo slow
have to say it, this is brill but for day to day gonna have to stick with opera mini.
Chris
I didn't consider network speed requirements. My sprint connection is very fast on the HTC Vogue. the good thing about opera mini is the proxy helps with slow connections.
Got this last night and used it for a few hours and i must admit it is growing on me.
At first I thought opera mini was far better (and still is on grps/edge) but this is nice.
The only thing i dont like is the zoom. for me it would be nicer if the full page were full screen like mini, but that is only personal preference. it is quite good that you can see full size what you are looking at behind the zoom.
Not sure yet whether it is opera mini or Netfront for me yet (Netfront doent yet support plugins, but can be a default browser and does support links and downloads) but having it available until the end of march will certainly give us something to play with until Opera 9.5 arrives and really gives us all a challenge to decide.
it works well and has the advantage of default browser capability... but aside from links and downloads i like opera mini better, because it's more responsive and a whole lot faster / more accurate
I just started it:
At the default homepage the CPU usage is next to 0%.
But when I minimize netfront, it stays at 100%!!
Hello,i tried NetFront today and I think it is amazing, but i only tested on wifi and i don't succeed to connect me on gprs, yet I have entered the proxy address 195.115.25.168 from of operator: SFR (from france).
Can you help me please?
tested and feels better than opera mobile 8.65! zoom is also cool although not so cool like in opera mini 4..
It rocks on my touch....
But how to quick zoom the pages??

Thank you!!
This is the best browser which I have never seen.....
Very fast, stable on my Touch and it has lots of functions...
I can scroll all the pages with my finger, both horizontal and vertical ways...
And remember...
This is only a BETA!!!
o like the autocruise thingie. very very nice browser
This really might be the best browser out.
My settings for the fastest/best page viewing:
Browsing Mode: Simple
Display Mode: Normal
Zoom: 75%
Virtual Canvas: 1024x1024
It seems to be good on memory usage so far too.
Very cool
Very cool browser but its slow on AT&T's edge/gprs
can you watch youtube on it?
can you watch youtube using netfront?? or other videos from websites?
Phenomenal performance on wifi...seems to be a bit of a memory hog, but light years better than PIE...

No flash support as of yet, so no youtube. The web 2.0 sites work though. I tried out google maps and it actually worked, but very slow.
Anybody knows if they will release a smartphone version? I Guess this version isn't compatible with WM6 standard?
hey guys, i was thoroughly disappointed with opera mobiles performance.. it really sucked (for me at least). Page would take a long time to open, and the windows would move all over the place while the page was loading, etc. Anyways, i finally decided to download opera mini and its a world of a difference, its amazing! however to do it correctly, follow this guys advise:
http://mobilitysite.com/2008/06/running-opera-mini-41-on-windows-mobile-2/
dont just go to operamini.com and download the version they tell you, because then you have to agree to that message everytime you go to a page. if you do it the way this guy says, you only have to give permission the first time you open opera. he also shows you a way to have it as a program, eliminating the need to open the jbed java app to launch from there.
another thing i did, is because our device is vga, the font was small. i set it to extra large, and its very good. even the scrolling is much better on the mini version, and ITS MUCH FASTER!! i cant emphasize the last one enough. anyways, just wanted to let u guys know, good luck
ps: also, something that is huge for me, typing something into a webpage is also much better now. on opera mobile, i would have to try to fit the screen size so i can see what i'm typing; with opera mini, it opens a new window for you to t ype in, it's like your typing in word or something. makes a huge difference IMO
omar
I couldn't agree more.
Unless something is wrong with just my phone, I can't see how anyone would like Opera Mobile.
Just open any forum page here. Probably takes 20-30 seconds to load on Opera Mobile on a fast Wifi connection...and that's after it takes 5-10 seconds to just load up.
Do it on Opera Mini and it takes maybe 2 on a 1x connection, even.
Opera Mini doesn't have tabs, but you are saving so much time elsewhere, that's livable.
It also runs through a proxy, so I guess you could get stale pages or https stuff won't work great.
But, for 95% of the browsing I do, Mini works perfectly and is unbelievably fast and it's clear on the vga screen.
I also chose Extra Large fonts.
If you decide to use Opera Mini, here's a way to make it the "default" for opening links.

Have you guys tried the newer version of Skyfire? If so, do you like Mini better?
ya i use mini much more than mobile
btw just download this zip, extract cab and install it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=113596&d=1221663410
it will ask if u want to make mini default browser...also installs java if u dont have it.
i change my image quality to high and font to biggest settings
I'm using UCWEB6 and I'm quite satisfied. Fast enough, tabbed browsing, easy to use..
yeah, im done using opera mobile, mini works so good!
i also use piscel and sometimes skyfire if im next to an ac jack... ill use ie just as i do on desktop, BUSINESS ONLY!
I used Opera Mobile for about a minute....
Help: I am having a problem with Mini not fully loading pages and getting white screens. I have Jbed 2.1 (read it was better than the newest version) and the newest Mini. Any advise?
I love the speed of Mini (thanks for posting the download link), but even on extra large the text is very very small. Is there a way to make it show up bigger?

Are you using the generic version? Seems like UCWEB6 was made for Nokia devices not HTC
Another opera mini fan here, the fastest browser I have used, that includes skyfire. Only issue is lack of tabs, but otherwise its great

No, I'm using this one. It says ppc2003 but it's working fine on all my devices, supports both VGA and QVGA
im using a mix of ucweb and operamini.. loving it. the only thing wrong with this phone is the lack of softkeys.. makes browsing with mini a little harder..
I've been using the "vga" version of skyfire since it came out, and I love it for its full browsing experience, speed, and ability to watch video in the browser.
Thank you for this thread!
I never used opera mini before and I was amazed by it's speed. It's not going to be my default browser (that's still PIE because I almost only view sites which are optimized for mobile devices) but it's absolutely perfect for viewing this forum for example!

This crashed for me. Whole device froze up.
Opera Mobile.. it's just CRAP compared to Opera Mini.
CONS Opera Mobile:
- load time (HTC/Opera cheat by preloading Opera at StartUp)
- lots of squares while dragging
- many times while you drag the stupid software cannot make difference between dragging and tapping
- if you drag the page and the page is still loading, you are dropped to other position that you are.. this is so annoying.. you have to drag again or wait until all the page elements are loaded by the browser
So, Opera Mini is very good on the majority of sites. (there are problem with the pages with many images, it cannot handle all of them).
I'm using a VGA version of jbed and I don't have problem with font size ANYMORE.
Big thanks to trueg. Get it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2973176&postcount=23
if i'm not mistaken, the reason why opera mini is so fast is because the pages are actually cached or pre-processed by Opera servers and then sent to you. with Opera mobile, you connect to the website directly.

That's very strange. It works great on my Blueangel, Wizard, Universal, Trinity and Raphael with all the custom roms I have installed on them and with the shipped rom on the Raphael the first day I got it.
Try installing on the SD card or the device memory, whichever you haven't tried.
Still have to say yes
Anyone else having issues with still having to click yes every time you try and go to a site? If I exit and open, the first time I try to open I get this annoying request. Followed the directions exactly and had no problems?
Also can't seem to browse with this on wifi, anyone else having this issue?

Yes, I have the same issue. But since I just have to click ok once in every session it's ok for me.
it load pages fast but scrolling though the pages is painfully slow with blank screens and zoom waiting to load for 5-6 seconds. no matter the page.
does this happen to anyone else? is there a fix or something?
Opera is incapable of loading even fandango.com properly.

Really? I just opened fandango with Opera Mobile 10 with flash support and it looks exactly like it does on my PC!
I have the same problem, skyfire very slow on my HD2 (youtube videos stops even I have a good internet connexion) and my Opera 10 dont work with Flash 3, so what can we do ? and why Opera 10 dont want to accept flash 3 support, THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS ...
I have no issues with Opera 10 and most flash sites, so I don't know what that's about, but I have to agree about Skyfire. Lost of people rave about it, but I've found it ugly and slow and very painful to use.
I hope it's not an issue concerning the ROM Artemis v8 i use

if you put in a zip code (U.S. only probably) to find a theater near you, i get a result page that had some bad lines accross the screen. this happens no matter when or where.
same page is displayed correctly in SkyFire, but i dont like how slow Skyfire page scrolling is.
i have the default Opera 9.7. I dont like Opera 10 because it doesnt have pinch zoom and it does the same thing.
i'm sorry, but i just think this is really lame. i mean, I have never had a problem with my previous Android phone. 3 Browsers on the HD2 and none of them can get it right.
Anyone try running a speed test with LTE on opera 11? Seems capped at 1.5 down. Every other browser I use hits 15-18 down, 5 up.
Any thoughts? Settings that I could fix this?
Doesn't opera compress the data through there servers?
So you'd be getting whatever there server speeds are

I believe thats Opera Mini, not Mobile, though not 100% sure.
Opera Mobile used to be the best browser out there, its just major lag now for me. I switched to Dolphin and love it way more. Even the stock browser is faster than Opera Mobile in my experience.
Opera Mobiile has server compression too, make sure Turbo is off in settings.

Miren is nice, doesnt handle flash as well as dolphin though.
I submitted a bug report on it to opera yesterday and also posted about it on their forum. here http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=964702&t=1302852965&page=1#comment9152762
Hopefully they will fix it. Sometimes they fix things fast, sometimes they dont. Like when they broke the forward/backward arrow buttons on the mouse for opera desktop. Used to be you could use the forward button to fast forward to the next page result on something like google. That's been broke for over a year. This is obviously a more critical bug that I think slows the browser down a bit.
With the stock browser, the page loads, is formatted correctly, but almost none of the images on the page load an the progress bar just hangs.
Stopping and refreshing the page just does the same thing. It happens with multiple websites, but I seem to have it mostly with bigger pages like engadget.com or androidcentral.com.
I have to reboot (or use the Fast Reboot utility) the tablet to get the browser working again.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this?
Do you get image placeholders with anything in them (an arrow, etc) where pictures/flash should be, or just white space? Also do you have it set up to announce itself as a desktop, tablet or mobile browser to web servers?
I have my stock browser user agent set as desktop. I visit engadget frequently and have not notice any problems you described. I so sometimes see a blank space where video should be, but clicking on the blank space plays video without problems. Stock browser is bit buggy to say the least, try other browsers and see if you have the same problems.
I just get blank spaces where the images should be. And the progress bar never completes like it's still trying to load those missing images.
Oddly though videos do show up on the page. It's only images that are not showing up.
I have the browser agent set to Desktop. I also have plugins set to always on, but did try on-demand for giggle, but no change.
Very strange. Maybe it's a good idea to try other browsers as buri73 suggested. I've heard good things about Dolphin HD since they updated it.
Opera Mobile and Dolphin HD don't have this problem. Just the stock browser.
I like using the stock browser because it syncs my desktop bookmarks and the UI is much better on a tablet to me.
Maybe I'll back things up and try a factory reset.
Glad it's not just me having this problem. It feels like the Browser just likes to pause for a few minutes when a page is only 75% loaded.
As an example, when loading the next page of search results on Google, it'll show the Google logo and search bar, sometimes the sidebar, and then the results will appear (sometimes) many seconds or even minutes later. It's long enough that it's easier just to go to my phone or laptop, enter the search terms, and load the same page.
Not tried other browsers yet.
While this has happened to me a few times, I generally force stop browser rather than reboot.

The stock browser does the same thing to me at times. I have it set to desktop and sometimes it seems to crawl when loading a page. If I go to the same page in Dolphin it seems to load fine. The stock browser doesn't do it all the time but its frequent enough where.
