Okay, i was using my phone yesterday at college, was working perfectly, put it in my jacket pocket, at the end of the lesson (less than an hour later) i took it out and it was off. No big deal i thought, went to turn it back on and now everytime i turn it on it gets stuck at the first orange splash screen.
I've tried just about everything other than a hard reset or ROM update.
Dont really want to do these unless i can backup the files somehow
I've tried: Removing the SD card, Removing the sim card,Removing both, leaving the battery out for an hour, leaving the battery out and the power cord in, also tried getting inot bootloader mode to try and access the device via usb but still no luck,
any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi
This afternoon I dropped my xda 1. I didn't think it was a 'bad' drop and also it was in it's case. However, no functions are available. I've tried turning it on, taking out and re-inserting the SIM card and a soft re-set but nothing is happening - even the green power light has stopped flashing.
Can anyone help me with this predicament please??
Maybe something happened with the battery, have you tried charging it with a cable?
Did you try a hard reset, what happens when put on charge.?
Well, the really good news here is that last night I tried a hard re-set and lo and behold, it all works! I think that at the moment of impact, the battery must be temporarily disconnected. Fortunately I'd saved all data onto SD card @ weekend so all is well.
Many thanks to you who replied - I appreciate that!
Chris
My Fuze was running PROven ROM 2.2 and various others before that fine, Hard-SPL and everything done correctly.
Now the device will not turn on with the power button, however i CAN get to the BootLoader and the HardReset Screen, i've tried hard-resseting and re-flashing with multiple roms- they say its succeful and then i still CAN'T power on
please anyone help if you can, thanks in advance
try flashing the stock rom
tried that..
i did, both the SD card and the USB method- no luck :/
says flash was successful- still won't boot up...
remove the sd card then try restarting it
i've tried that also, no luck
Plug in your phone via USB to your computer and boot into the tricolored bootloader screen without your SD Card. It should say USB at the bottom.
Download and run stock AT&T ROM (Assuming you have an AT&T branded phone since you said Fuze): http://rapidshare.com/files/157242627/RUU_Raphael_Cingular_US_.exe
This should install your original shipped package.
Now if you still get a black screen, at this point, remove your SIM Card and reset your phone.
nothing
thanks for the link, tried it, yet again, no luck.....
is the back light on but the screen is black or does the phone look completely dead with no back light? Plug in your AC adapter and see if the light fades in and out to indicate charging.
I know this might sound retarded but have you tried pressing the reset button on the bottom of your phone?
I'm sure you tried so try this step. Pull out the battery and let the phone sit there for a good 2 minutes then try reflashing to your stock ROM.
If you still have a black screen, pull out the battery again for another 2 minutes, put it back in but this time plug in your phone using the AC adapter and just charge the phone for a few minutes then try turning your phone on.
thanks
thanks variablex, however i cannot try your last step because i had already given up and used my warranty by the time you posted it, i will be receiving a new fuze in the mail soon - would've rather not used it yet and tried more steps but now its too late :-\
thanks anyways though
this morning after i changed and swapped to the fully charged battery, my phone won't switch on. removed the charged battery and put back the near flat battery and still won't switch on. tried the soft reset and hard reset and still won't switch on. someone please help.
i didn't get this phoen through the carrier here in US, it is the non-baranded EU model. i have not done anything to it recently, have been using without any extra upgrades for a couple of months already.
anyone got a clue what i can do? thought of plugging directly to a computer but will only be abel to do that when i get back to tonight after work.
help needed
the "near flat battery"? What do you mean? I would try putting the battery in, plugging it into the wall and then trying to turn it on. did you pull the sim card out too? Try taking that out as well for 30ish seconds. Good luck!

'near flat' is like about 20% of juice left in the battery.
was late for work so didn't try, just removed the sim card and used it on the backup phone. will try and use the wall charger when i get hom and hope it works. 4 months only and this happens, not really giving me a good impression though honestly, or maybe i'm just plain unlucky
went home last night and put the sim card back and it's now working.
maybe i'll do a re-flash to refresh it
I had this issue of the boot loop and was pouring over dozens of threads. THe phone would reset itself after the inital splash screen loaded. flashing stock rom didn't work, nor did flashing the radio or flashing from sd card. I bought a secondary charger and also another battery, but those did not solve anything. There were no bent contacts on the battery. What finally worked was this:
I plugged the phone into the wall outlet, and let it just continuously reset itself overnight. In the morning when I looked, the phone was on the windows welcome screen.
I have not seen this solution posted anywhere so I wanted to put one more option out there on the table for anyone else experiencing a similar issue.
That is real weird...
try a task 29
Hi,
Had the same problem today.
I have tried HARD-RESET, flash STOCK ROM from the SD, none helped.
Then I saw that one of the phone battery pins is in a strange position.
I have fixed it, put back the battery - and WALLA !!
Hope it will assist
I am having the same continuous rebooting problem now after loading Task29.
I managed to load a new ROM on the device but it still continuously reboots.
I have checked the pins on the battery - they are fine.
Hey Quazimoto,
Please check the pins on the HS which the battery will touch,
on my Raphael, one of the pins (of the handset itself) was bended to the side, when I have fix it, so it again touched the battery, all went good.
Cheers!
strange
well remove ur memorycard, flash a new rom or original rom.. dun put ur SD card back give it a try.. cuz sumtimes strange things do happens cuz of memory card
So its just happened to me and what started it was to allow the battery to go low .. very low dead. before shutting down andriod and entering the reboot cycle to enter back into windows.
Charging on a USB PC connection continued the reboot cycling.
Charging on the mains socket stopped the cycling ... and once charged sufficiently (4omins) it now boots ok.
I won't let it run so low from now on.

Hi,
I just bought one of these off eBay (need that hardware 5 row keyboard). Switched it on and was merrily configuring wireless when it shut off. Yep - I should have plugged it into the mains before doing anything. But I didn't.
Now it sits there with the red light on (when plugged into the mains) but nothing happens. Yesterday it was looping; it would get to the Vodafone splash screen then shut off, give a little vibrate then do it again a couple of minutes later. I left it overnight and now it's just sat with the red light and ain't doing anything much.
Have tried hard reset several times (one time it got to the tri-colour screen with ROM info etc but I've not got back to that screen since!). To my knowledge it is stock Windows Mobile 6.1 Vodafone (UK). Is a RHOD100. Have done many searches on this forum and the Internet at large. In the absence of any other suggestions I think I'll try a new battery.
Any help very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Geoff
Hi ,
I had the same problem of Reset cycles after the battery in my Touch Pro2 was totally discharged.
The solution that worked for me was to take out the micro SD card and charge the TP2 through the main socket - this stopped the reset cycles.I left the battery to be charged overnight and in the morning I just had to plug out the device from the charger and perform Soft reset.
The TP2 was back to life without loss of data.

This is the Touch Pro2 CDMA forum. This is a totally different device than what you have. You might try a Galaxy forum.

Solution
Hi,
The problem is caused by the phone booting while the phone is just on charge. The phone charge circuit shuts off in the first splash screen. The battery still has minimal charge so discharges fully, the phone shuts off and we start all over again.
So, repeatedly plugging in the charger and unplugging same before the phone starts - will work. You will be able to leave the charge on for an ever increasing time - starting at about 5 seconds. Repeat for approximately 10 minutes. Eventually the phone will remain on charge without starting up.
boots with no SIM or Memory card

OK, this actually work for my looping T-Mobile G2. Removing the SIM and Memory card boots the device and seems stable. So I was going to format the SD card, but I just put the SIM back in again with no mem card. Now it starts looping again. So tried and old SIM that T-Mobile had cloned to attempt another fix and it starting looping with that SIM. So removed that SIM, and again, with no SIM card the phone boots fine. So it has to be some hardware issue, maybe SIM contacts? Unclear

Lets see, what happens after doing your process.
So, I was flashing gtg's unbrick back to stock after trying CM7 for a bit and my phone managed to slip off my desk and come unplugged. Now when I do anything it stays black. Tried taking battery out, plugging in usb... nothing. Not recognized in Odin anymore either.
Any suggestions on what I can do to save this thing?
stays black mean what?
when you insert battery whether there is any backlight or it is completely dead?
you may need to take it to service center.
Meaning nothing at all. No backlight, no nothing.
Well, apparently trying to put the battery back in with the usb connected a few more times convinced it to get back into download mode.
Case closed! Thanks for your help, everyone.
Good to know...
so basically you just kept attempting to put it into dload mode until it took...and eventually it did. Awesome!
