i like to have a spare battery always charged in my pocket ready to go.. why are they not out for the galaxy s already?
And where's the home dock and the active car holder?
Samsung should have had all this ready and being pushed out with the iphone 4g pending release.
I am disappointed, everyone here wants this to be a huge success. And after the delays initially and the lack of access.... *shrug*
Australian site techbuy appears to have them:

though maybe they are just listing them without having them yet.. says its 'order-in'
Just buy another micro usb cable and a usb to ac adapter wall charger. Shouldn't cost more than $7 on ebay.

that is nothing like an external wall charger and batteries.. you can have 2 batteries charging at once and have spare batteries.. are you dense.. nothing like haveing to charge the battery IN THE PHONE!!!!
not sure if a lot of folks are just unaware, but every phone i've had charged fine from a usb port off my computer
since i started tethering my phone to my laptop (browse the web from family couch) december 2009, i haven't used the wall charger
even if i'm not tethering, i've got a spare usb cable on the desktop, that when i sit down at the desk, the phone or whatever device, gets connected to - far more convenient and fewer items occupying space on the desk
plus, i've got that Tmo car charger that just has a usb port on it's end - so the same cable that i use to tether to the laptop (when in the car), if i'm using the phone in the dock for nav, runs down to the charger - the charger, with no cable hanging off it when not in use, let's me leave the charger in the socket 24/7 - no looking for it in the glove box and untangling it etc
that charger is simply converting the 14V car voltage to 5 V the USB port normally delivers
2 - 3.5 hours seems to take my 1150mah battery from low charge to full
for what it's worth
Lack of available accessories and software bugs, seems to me that Samsung rushed this thing to beat the iphone4 deadline.
But since they sell this thing in so many countries and networks I expect they will have little choice but to support it properly.
dude ita all ther in korea the gmarket got all acessories already
I'm sure once the Galaxy S class family phones for the US are officially on sale, you'll start to see more accessories be available. Just hold the fort for now man. Be patient.

Well I'm a happy user of the GS and regarding to the bugs.. I never had a smartphone which worked as flawless as the GS (and this isn't my first phone )
batteries and external battery wall chargers are fineally on ebay even though they show wrong battery a8 in the pict.. hopefully the are correct battery.
i've bought two batteries off ebay weren't that good on svc life -
one was complete junk - wouldn't fit unless i forced it and then the phone displayed an error msg
i've come to the conclusion electronic items (especially memory cards) are best not sourced on ebay
that review that engadget.com had about aftermarket batteries, really about the extra capacity batteries that ended up demonstrating that only the really oversized (ie double capacity batteries) even came close to their state mah rating, ended up suggesting the OEM batteries are the best way to go

Dense? You said this on the title which I assume is your question, but can't tell cause of your grammar, "damnit where are the spare batteries and wall chargers already." How the hell was I suppose to know that you wanted a external battery charger from that writing. Learn to write so others can understand what you are saying. Nothing in your question indicated an external battery charger. Just spare batteries and a wall charger. Sorry for not being psychic.
i see a lot of 1500mAh batteries on ebay, but the feedbacks from the sellers sounds like they are dogdgy, also the wall chargers looks horrible it's supposed to be a universar charger, but darn, those thing looks scary, i don't want a battery to blow up mid charge.
anyone find a trusty spare battery and charger caddles yet?

$15 for 2 batteries and a charger...
Cheap.... tempting, but do you get what you pay for? I've never had good experiences with fake/unoffiical batteries.
Searched around and found that monoprice.com is the go-to for cables/chargers..but I'd like to get one TODAY. At which retail store can I find the best price to replace the stock wall charger and usb cable for our epics?
Luckly you can just use your computer or laptop to recharge your phone for now.
If you cant wait to buy one off e-bay i would go to walmart. They have all kinds cheaper chargers.
Walmart has one that fits Samsung Epic (says so on the package), but I had one from there that would lock my screen while charging (took it back and they didn't have another). My other one from Walmart has always worked fine. If you don't need a wall charger, they have car chargers too. Also if you can find a Radio Shack they have them. Sometimes Truckstops have them. Anyways, chargers have gotten to be like reading glasses at my home and work, they are everywhere!
I second the laptop/computer charging for now. Don't give those retail stores the satisfaction of ripping you off!
left the charger, probably left the cord too. fortunately enough anyone that has electronics now usually has a $5-$10 USB->microUSB cord. just plug it in to your computer and skip the wall charger
IDK where you live, but in a ohio theres a chain of stores call "Big Lots" use to be "Big and Small lots".... any who, they sell universal chargers for 6 bucks. I bought one of these as I wait for my better charger to be shipped form china via boat for 2 dollars.
any dollar tree should have a 4 or 5 dollar fire hazard charger.
Pay for a charger?! Don't you guys know that all you have to do is go to the front desk of any large hotel, tell them that your mom left her phone charger in a room a few weeks ago when she was passing though, but you don't know esactly when or what room, and they'll have a box of chargers for you to rummage through. You'll be able to take your pick of micro USB chargers from any OEM you want. Except Apple. People call or come back for Apple chargers.
I have to say that I *loved* the Big Lots comment. My father went there one time and bought two Duracell car chargers for my mother's LG phone for $8!!!! He didn't even know what type of interface she uses, (it's micro USB,) but for that price, he just bought the two and figured one would work.
Fry's Electronics and Microcenter have really cheap Micro USB cables that they'll have in 50-gallon drums at the entrance of some of their stores.
Spend the 15-20 bucks at Radio Shack for a decent quality charger that won't degrade your battery faster because of unsteady voltage output.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I recommend an iGo Charger from Radio Shack. Best investment in my opinion since you can just buy the interchangeable plugs and never have to get another charger again, at least until the thing poops out. Have had my two car and one home charger for several years now. Plus I like the Y-adapter that lets you charge two things off the same charger.
I have seem many accessories from Choetech that answer the USB-C need for a charger and I have the wall adapter that they provide.
But recently i saw the 3 port charger that can charge the Nexus 6P for me and two more devices at the same time.
This is something that I have been stuck with when I travel and I have to bring a separate charger for my nexus 6P.
Enter recently when I revived for review a set of chargers and a Type C cable to check out.
I put together a video for the review.
Hope you guys like it.
I think we need more chargers that support both standards and not one for each separately.
thank you

I was looking for a nice charger for travelling that would support both my 6P and Nexus 7. I ran across an earlier post on this charger and decided to give it a try. I was fortunate enough to get a discount code from Choetech for the charger and some c-c type cables.
The charger is very nice looking, and well packaged. It has a blue led that is not overly bright. Flip out prongs make it nice for traveling. However, the prongs are located about a 1/3 of the way down the body. Potentially this can block the other plug on the outlet (or up to 3 on a power strip). Only the charger is included in the package, no cords are provided.
I used it charge a 6P (27%), Nexus 7 2013 (25%), and a Nexus 5 (45%) at the same time (all on 6.0.1). Using Ampere, the Nexus 6P topped out just over 2.8A, the Nexus 5 just over 1A, and the Nexus 7 just under 1A. Switching cords, ports, and/or removing devices did not impact the charging levels. Using a different charger on the Nexus 7 (also of the 2.4A variety) did not increase the charging rate per Ampere (in fact, it was a bit less).
Although I didn’t time the charging rates, both the 6P and the 5 indicated around 45 minutes to 100% charge (about 20 minutes left once I stopped playing with them). This is certainly in-line with the stock charger on the 6P. The 6P screen indicated rapid charging, both the 5 and 7 indicated charging. While charging all 3 devices, the charger got warm to the touch but not hot. I did not notice any buzzing or other unusual noises from the charger.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with it. Although I couldn’t get the full charging rates, it didn’t fluctuate when removing or adding devices. I suspect it will charge at or near the full rates without any issues. It’s nice and compact for travelling, and should also work nice as a daily charger to reduce clutter. My only complaint is the location of the prongs. If they rotated 90 degrees so that the charger wouldn’t block other outlets, it would be perfect.
I also purchased (at a discount) a 2 pack of type c - c cords. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AXUASOO The cords appear to be well made, not as heavy duty as some, but not cheaply made either. I used one of the cords when charging my 6P, and got very close to the same charging rate as using the Google supplied cord. The plastic around the plug isn’t oversized and shouldn’t present any problems while using cases with smaller cutouts. The only downside to these cords is that they seem to require slightly more force to unplug than other cords I’ve used. This may or may not improve over time, but I don’t feel it’s enough force that it would damage the phone or charger.
I almost bought this a few weeks ago before realizing:
1) Choetech claims that this can be used for charging MacBooks. The lack of USB PD and max of 5V and 3A means it is way too underpowered to charge a MacBook in a reasonable amount of time. Their advertising is deceitful.
2) Their 1 port charger overheats and makes humming noises. Undoubtedly the result of poor manufacturing and/or design.
3) In the photo of their product on Amazon, the Type-C port is quite clearly bent. You can tell that the metal connector on the cable is inline with the plastic jacket on the cable, meaning that the cable itself is straight but the port on the charger is bent. I can't say if this was a manufacturing defect or if Choetech's marketing team abused the Type-C port before taking a photo, but either way it just looks unacceptable.
It's perfect for what I needed....which was to charge my Nexus 6 Phone and a Samsung Tablet and also Samsung Note 5. With a USB-C to USB-C cable, I was able to charge my Nexus quickly about the same rate as the OEM. Using a USB-C to USB-A cable, the charge speed isn't that great. Also it's pretty big so it took up two power socket on the wall. I like that the prongs are fordable, which makes it compact enough for travel.
I wouldn't recommend ANYTHING from that company. They cut corners in their engineering department. and don't make things right while using YOU as a beta tester to their beta products. After frying 2 of my phones with their QC2.0 chargers, i still gave them another shot when Type C chargers came out. After 5+ replacements, the over heating and humming continued. They kept emailing me and sending me free replacements that i didn't ask for in hopes i would give them a better review on amazon. NO THANKS.
It might work, today, tomorrow, or a few days. but just know that deep inside their product, something isn't right. they know it. yet they keep selling them and hiding behind the majority of early reviews on amazon. all the products i got from them are in the trash. i paid full price with my own money, i wasn't one of their free reviewers or discounted buyers for an honest review.
I have a different experience. I was actually going to write a positive review about this product in March, but hesitated after reading the above, and decided to test further. I have now used it daily for an additional 1 1/2 months. For me, the product works flawlessly. It is as fast as the stock charger. But, what I really like about it is the foldable plug, and the additional (2) USB Ports. This makes it ideal for my office and travel use. As I said, I use it daily, and have had NO issues with noise or overheating. Maybe some of the other reviewers were using early releases. All I can say, is mine works flawlessly, and I would (and probably will) buy it again.
Those using this charger, how has it been? I recently ordered this charger and I'm worried because while there are mostly positive review, there's a single review that says the charger melted his cable when he was charging his Nexus 7. He posted the issue to reddit (a quick search would bring it up) and someone else said his 5X was damaged.
Now I'm actually scared I'll damage my devices too.
Now I know there are no perfect chargers or one-charger-to-rule-them-all, and I understand crap happens, maybe they were just unlucky and had a defective product.
I'd much rather get a defective product that stopped working instead of a defective product that has the potential of damaging my device.
But I'd like to hear from more people using this charger. How has it been? Both the USB C and the USB A ports and overall charging experience.
I'll admit, I'm totally confused on this topic, so my apologies in advance.
I bought this little device to try and understand the power my phone and tablet were pulling in, and across different cables and charger blocks.

I could've sworn my buddy's S4, the first one we tested was showing over 1 amp (maybe even like 1.5 or 1.8...but don't exactly recall). This was with an Anker microUSB brand new cord, and a Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 charging brick.
A few days later, I decided to test my HTC One M9 as well as a Galaxy tablet. None of them were registering anything above .45-.85 amps. Tried multiple outlets, multiple cords, multiple blocks.
All I hear about is these 2.0A chargers, so curious what realistic expectations should be with what I see in these tests?
As a side note, my phone *seems* to charge OK off these blocks and cables, but perhaps I'm missing out on power that could make charging even better.
Can anyone levelset expectations with me?
Thanks in advance for any help....
Hi everyone,
So I am here again to quickly give my thoughts on another CHOETECH accessory, this time it is their USB C to USB 3.0 cables.
I have had a cable previously from Rankie, but have found the build quality to not be as sturdy as the CHOETECH ones. These ones are flexible, feel strong with their braided cables, and the design is excellent and looks very professional, very nice on the eye to others who may see them.
The data transfer is fast, as you would expect from USB 3.0! The charging is on par with other cables.
I have attached the link here for my review on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R1YBGPQVRSGV75/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B01LYW4WIY&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=560798&store=electronics, and also the link for the product itself https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LYW4WIY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hope I have helped some of you out, and if any of you have any questions for things I may not have covered, then I shall be pleased to help you out!
I prefer Anker Type-C cable, then Tronsmart next.
It will break after a few months.
I too have received these at a discounted price to review and must say the following:
These cables from Choetech are again of amazing quality. Especially as they are braided. I love the fact they came in two different colours meaning one matches my Nexus 6P in black and the other matches my Pixel C in grey. They are a good length to use at a desk and have good file transfer speeds to a computer when plugged in via USB 3. The charge rate isn't as quick as USB C to C but that is to be expected, however do not let that fool you, they still charge pretty quick although usb charge booster on my motherboard may be helping with that more than anything, but it's comforting to know these cables can handle the extra power sent down by my motherboard. I highly recommend these cables and would buy them again especially from Choetech.
Just a word of warning, I bought accessories from their official Aliexpress shop including USB-C to USB-C cable and car charger. While using the two I managed to destroy USB port on my Nexus 6P.
I plugged the cable as I was leaving a concert day before yesterday and as I was driving home I started to smell something like electric parts burning. At first I thought that it is the smell of the brushes on my car warmer blower. Blower has been making strange noises lately. But as the smell started to get more intense, I was really worried that my car is going to burn. I unlocked my 6P and noticed that the battery was not charging and yanked the cable. The plastics on the cable were like butter and pretty hot! I panicked and pulled the cable out, disconnected the charger and continued to home. It was late in the evening and I couldn´t see what had happened to my phone.
As I got home I tried to charge my phone and it didn´t charge. I noticed that battery has gone from 87% to 56% in about hour. The backside of my phone was melted little and there was damage around the USB port.
Here is few hazy pictures i took with my wifes potato:

I asked about this from Choetech via Aliexpress and they were sorry. They asked if I wanted another cable to substitute the melted one. I haven´t replied yet.

Never heard of the Aliexpress shop always bought them from Amazon. Sorry to hear about your device, however its probably more likely the charger than the cable as i've been using 3 of these cables and had no issues over the last few months now.

Aliexpress is a small time business somewhere around far East.... You should try it sometimes.
I was using Choetech charger atm, which I bought on same order with the cable. I can´t blame any other than Choetech for destroying the phone.
