I wonder where is the SMS being stored in WM? If you notice that each SMS occupy 1K, so if I have got 400 SMS does this mean I am utilizing 400K of the ROM?
I wonder also, how much could the inbox store in terms of SMS; I mean could it go upto 1000 without causing the system to slowdown or hang?
I remember there used to be a tool whereby one could backup those SMS to the desktop Outlook! What's this tool?

Hi, have you guys notice (to those who are using, who have used jeyo) that it cuts down / shortens a message when it reads from the pc, i think its only on to 160 characters and below are shown up. I wonder and this is my question.. is there a fix for that? I mean i have a couple of text messages who's 3-4-5-6 message lines. and i can't back it up. because if i was to use jeyo, it shortens it from 6 message line to 1!
could you guys suggest an alternative software which offers the same capablities with jeyo? Im really a fan of the app. but not in the back up and restore thing.. I need to back up over 5000 text messages and most of those messages are over the limit (meaning 2 and above message lines)
hoping for a response soon..
cheers and best regards,
If you just want to backup your messages, have you considered something like PIM Backup , or perhaps a commercial solution like SPB Backup or Sprite?
I use Jeyo, and love what it does, but it really isn't a very good backup solution. It is the only program I have seen like it.
Same here, i use Jeyo for sending SMS and tidying up contacts etc but for backup i use PIMBackup.
Does anybody know if someone has created a program to automatically purge old text messages (ie. delete messages more than 1 week old)? There's no limit on the messages you can have on your phone so after a while it starts to fill up and slow down things. Also if there's something to save messages you don't want to get deleted. Android has this problem too so I'm looking for WM and Android.
Hy,
this developer (www.pocketkai.net) has done a sms backup tool.

or PIM Backup 2.8 by Dotfred
or PowerSMS by Trinket Software
Is there an (up to date) SMS and or MMS program that can be installed and totally override the internal rubbish that HTC have dumped onto the HD2.. I see various threads about tweaking this or that in the registry but I would love to just buy a program that just replaces the whole shabang and if possible give me file management within my saved texts as well.. or is this just wishful thinking.. cheers..
I'm using vito sms chat and newest version is 1.25 though it is not very up to date but very good program just u need to disable htc messaging + make vito sms chat your default sms application (by registery tweak)
Okay I was wondering how the iPhone handles old text messages. Like, after a certain amount of texts, usually 200+, Android automatically starts deleting them to save space on the phone. How the iPhone do this? Does it store every text message on the phone or what because I had a friend who was able to scroll back pretty far in his conversations and I'm not exactly sure if they were being retrieved from a server or if they were stored on his phone? I am asking because I wanted to know if the 8gb iPhone 4 would get all its space taken since I usually text 2000-3000 messages per month.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

The iPhone stores SMS messages on the phone's internal flash memory. Unless you text a lot... to the tune of 15 million text messages you won't run out of memory. Old text threads can be deleted. I'm not sure on this, but I'm somewhat certain there's an option to delete messages past a certain # in threads somewhere in the settings. It's been a while since I held an iPhone in my hand.
Hey everyone,
I've wondering this for a long time and couldn't find a solution to my problem. I have samsung i780 and have upgraded it to windows mobile 6.1. It comes with the SMS displayed as a chat conversation, which is neat. I want to backup all these conversations, as they are.
When I try most SMS backup software,(like iMobile SMS backup or Godswmobile SMS transfer) they backup all the messages, but they don't save it in a conversation way. They split them into sent or received smses, and its really hard to make sense of things and its tiresome.
Is there any software that can save the entire conversation as they are displayed in wm6.1? (i.e sent-received-sent-received etc)
Or at least someone can think of in this way:
In the conversation window, I can select all, and then copy the messages to Microsoft word or Note. The problem is, it shows very few messages at a time(as the screen is small, so only like 7 or 8 are displayed at a time), and I have to keep clicking on 'Older' to go to the very first sms, which is like a 1000 click before. And its tiresome to copy/paste it in the word, and if one small error, you are pushed back to the very recent sms chat.
Cant I just access the main html/xml file on the mobile where all of this is stored? Anyone knows how to retrieve the file where all your SMS chat/conversation is saved?
Thanks
Okay, I found the software.
Jeyo Software is the one. God, I wish I had known such a software existed before. Its just beautiful.
One more thing, any idea how to restore contacts that were saved as .xml?
Thankx
