repeating notifications issue - G1 Android Development

I have the modded rc30 and I keep getting the same notifications over and over, was wondering if this is an rc30 issue or the modded rc30 or just a weird situation only I'm having

It's probably related to the the info in this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445253

no this isn't an update notification. it's text message notification. i'll clear them and then when i hit messages it's back again have to clear notifications

Check your text message usage and see if you are being charged for each of these messages. If you don't clear it out, do you get the message again?

maybe i'm stupid. i think maybe i just cleared it out of the notifications bar and never checked it thats why it popped back up in the notification bar when i click messages. i thought i had checked it though. i'll see.
i = stupid /thread

I have an application-specific issue similar to this. If someone does and "@" reply to me on Twitter... Twitdroid will not stop notifying me of the reply until I reply back to the person. I've notified the developer of this but haven't heard back.

Handcent keeps displaying notifications

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I started using Handcent again today, but every time I look at a text it displays "7 unread messages" in my notification bar when I have 0 unread messages. No matter how many times I clear it, it keeps coming back whenever I open it up. I've tried deleting my texts as well. Any ideas?
Uninstall and reinstall. Had the same problem. Idk if it'll happen again lol but I'm waiting to see if it does.

when u say you deleted your texts.. are u deleting ALL text messages?
If you've blacklisted 9016 (visual voicemail) in Handcent, every now and again it'll still show an unread indicator. In those cases, I just press menu and "Mark all as read" to make it go away.

[Q] Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only?

Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only but leave information about receiving sms in message thread?
I want to have information if my sms was received, but I don't want notification for each sms. It's really annoying.
I also want keep my stock app.
Any solutions?
sorry for my english
I assume you're using a Sense-based ROM - and that you're on about delivery reports showing up in the status bar?
The HTC messaging app is the only app that I know of that insists on putting delivery reports in the status bar, and I agree, it's really annoying. I also think that it isn't possible to silence the notification - if you have delivery reports turned on, you will get a notification for every successfully received message.
I appreciate from your post that you want to keep your stock messaging app, but unfortunately, I can't see any other way than using a Market alternative.
You could always try pulling the default messaging app from an AOSP build on the development forum and replacing it with that. The delivery reports with other messaging apps are quite subtle, and you get small notifications that fade in saying 'Message received by xxxxx.' that fade out again - much less intrusive.

Unfortunately as far as your phone is concerned an SMS is an SMS regardless if its a real incoming message for you or an SMS report notification.
Your phone reacts in the same way.
HTC sense is just basically plain stupid. Talking about Android = Customization.. What a joke.

[Q] How to see gtalk notifications but NOT message text

Hi,
I've been trying to disable talk application to display text of incoming messages (security risk), while still being notified when new message arrives. Not an option . You can either disable notifications for good, make them pop up (even worse) or have it as it is by default: showing you a line of text from last message you received.
I installed trillian IM hoping it would have the option I need, but with no luck. I'm perfectly happy with talk app btw, but lack of this option is simply plain old stupid.
Does anyone know how to resolve this or some other IM messenger that I could use instead, which has this nice little option?
Cheers

Hangouts notifications when in app

I don't know if this is the correct forum but I can't think of any other place to put it. Sorry if I'm mistaken.
Thing is, when I'm in the Hangouts app on my phone chatting with someone and that someone replies to me the Hangouts notification comes up. It's weird because I'm on the app, I don't need to be notified for the conversation I'm having on the foreground!
It's so annoying because of the sound and also because of the statusbar constantly switching to show the notification.
Is this normal or is just my phone??
Thanks in advance.

Gear S2 and Google Hangouts notification history

Ok so I just noticed something I would like if anyone could chime in on. When I receive a hangout notification on the watch, at the bottom of the message there is a "READ MORE>" button. Tapping this lets me read the hangout thread going much farther back than just the current message in the notification.
However, once you clear the Hangout notification, you cannot view it anymore which means you can't type into Hangouts until you get another message/notification.
My question is this, is it possible to re-open notifications after you clear them? That would be nice... then I could, in essence, initiate a Hangouts message to someone I already had a message history with, i.e. all my contacts!
No, once you clear them they are gone. Instead of clearing them, back out with the button and return to your watch face, then they will stack and still be able to be replied to.
Interesting same issue with WhatsApp but only when you get 2 or more messages from the same contact, if you click read more hoping to see the others unread messages watch goes bonkers back way beyond
