Hi,
I accidentally renamed one of the entries under HKLM-Software-OEM-RIL on my AT&T Fuze,
can a kind soul look up and let me know what I am missing from the list below? The default value of that entry is "1" in Hexadecimal format. I believe it was below the "EnableHSDPAIcon" entry but since I renamed it by mistake I am not sure.
I have:
PDPInUse
HTCERROR_Class
HTCERROR_Cause
EnableHSDPAIcon
(I belive the entry I'm missing is here)
GlobalEccList
NoSimList
ReplaceLFWithSpace
What am I missing?
Thanks!

If gotta be kinda helpful, the key you are missing is DWORD "DisH" of a value "2" Decimal.
Is it so?

Please feel free to post your tips on how to customize/personalize your roms before flashing.
Heres one to start from my inbox before i deleted it

I have done a similar thing, by putting the "owner" info into the rom and changing the registry to remove the "owner info" control pannel applet then when they hard reset they get my welcome note same as you and also they can't disable/change owner details

Do you think that you could explain to a n00b like me how you can edit the rom or whatever so that the owner details cannot be changed?
Thanks
Get a registry editor like resco regedit or something like, goto
HKLM\controlpanel\Owner
and add a new string value called
"Redirect" and leave the value blank
now delete the dword "group"
save and reset device
If you are cooking you have to search the registry for the dword "group=0" and change to String "redirect="
Now that I've been around for a little while I will try this now, but If I ever wanted to change the details (say i was to sell it or whatever, which I REALLY don't want to do) what do you do?
The best way is to reflash a standard Rom without your personal details in. if you only want to modify it reverse the registry settings with a reg editor note this must be done after a hard reset every time. best to reflash your custom rom again modifying the settings first.
I want to set spb contacts as default contacts (even contacts link in dialer)
i know this can be achieved by changing the "String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "something" = ?????????
after going to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS
some one help what needs to be put there.
i have tried putting the following with and with and without quotes
*spbmenu*\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\menu\root\Organizer\Contacts
(which is used for running spb contacts through left soft key)
the above with quotes resulted in the following error:
The file 'contacts' cannot be opened. Either it is not sogned with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
someone suggest how to get this.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS
Change "String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "\Program Files\SPB\Blah\Blah\Blah.exe".
Make sure that you add the "" on the new entry. (obviously, change blah blah blah to actual SPB concacts location)

Thank you for your reply.
SPB Contacts does not run through specific exe file
this is what they have added in the registry in order to set left key as spb contacts
*spbmenu*\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\menu\root\Organizer\Contacts
hmm, never messed around with SPB contacts, so i'm not really sure then.
Your sure that there isn't an EXE file somewhere in the program files / spb folders?
Try this
"\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell\MenuLauncher.exe" -cmd:"\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Root\Organizer\Contacts"
(if you have this installed on a storage card, please add \Strorage Card before Program Files
Hope this helps

What does "Figured it out." mean??? Can you please post the solution.
Yeah +1 Would like to do the same. Thanks.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS
Change "String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell\MenuLauncher.exe" -cmd:"\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Root\Organizer\Contacts"

Thanks for the sarcasm. I had actually read that post but nobody had confirmed that it works. You posted that then the OP said "Figured it out". Just left the rest of us guessing whether your solution works or whether we needed to go figure something out.
It's called testing, I went through the trouble of downloading SPB contacts and installed it on the Emulator "just" to help someone out. Forgive me for sounding sarcastic, but please if you would have read my post you would have seen I said "try this", why didn't you?

We're going off topic here and should probably take this to a private message thread. Consider from someone else's perspective what "try this" means. I read it as "Here, try this - I think it might work". You didn't say, "I've downloaded the app, experimented and here's the answer". You said the equivalent of "give this a try". Anyhoo, glad we have an answer. Kudos for your efforts. Anything else to add and we should take it 'offline'.
Not quite there. Yet.
I did try this! and it didn't work as expected, instead of contacts app got the Spb menu but with slightly wrong icons?
Deleted cmd text and it goes directly to Spb Menu, that will do till I figure out what is wrong.
Rewrote cmd text must have made a mistake before ;-) Works a treat.
Does anyone know of a solution for SPB Mobile Shell 3.0? I tried the registry modification mentioned above, but that didn't work.
Thanks,
Nick

Figured it out.
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCONTACTS
Value: 1
Data: "\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell\MenuLauncher.exe" -cmd:"dlg|:CONTACTS"
Default (for reference): :MSPOUTLOOK contacts
Nick
P.S. The key name has no space between the M and the S, the forum software is making that change for some reason.
Maybe anybody can help me and can tell me the name of the middle of the path: HKLM/.../boot
and eventually the keys and values of it
thank you
the background is, that i accidently deleted the name and couldnĀ“t recognize the former name
what's the exact path in the registry?
the Path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/.../Booted
i need to know the name of exactly one folder, with "..." as placeholder and if there are some, the keys and its values
..... = Shell
it contains a string called "(default)" (including the ( & ) )but there is no value for it (left blank)
Next time perform a backup before you (accidently) delete something from your registry
Good Catch and great job - thx!
But still one question: does booted have any key and value?

Booted only has a string (just like Shell) called (default) and it has no value.
Your welcome!
I cannot for the life of me figure out where the setting is to change the text on your tf3d tabs. Out of the box my AT&T Fuze says "email" for the touchflo email tab, I would like it to say "Email".
Sorry if this has been posted already but I searched.

It can be done by editing the 26948339_manila file in windows... If you have no clue what you are doing I suggest you get over you OCD as messing with this file in the wrong way can mess up tf3d.
Detailed instructions on how to accomplish this would be most appreciated... I couldn't find the file in the windows folder in my File Explorer (im assuming its hidden). What programs do I need to install and what steps need to be taken in order to successfully edit this value?
Thanks.

It can also be done by editing 090661f7_manila, which is where the names for all the tabs are defined. Find the line that says:
<trans-unit id="IDS_EMAILTITLE">
and edit the line under it to say:
<source>Email</source> [instead of <source>email</source>]
and then re-start TF3D. Like rymonday said, though, you can really screw stuff up if you mess up an edit in one of these files so do so at your own risk!
Would I edit the manila file on my PC with Notepad? Then replace it on my phone and change the properties with Total Commander or is there another way?
Anyone want to chime in on how to properly edit this file?

* Disable TouchFLO from Settings>Today>Items
* Use Total Commander (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2286376) and find the "090661f7_manila" file. Change the attributes (remove Read Only flag - have to tap twice to get rid of the "ghosted" checkmark). Click OK to save the file changes.
* Then edit the file as ITNV posted (again, with Total Commander)
Find the line that says:
<trans-unit id="IDS_EMAILTITLE">
and edit the line under it to say:
<source>Email</source> [instead of <source>email</source>]
and then re-start TF3D.

Worked perfectly for me.
Thx guys!
Perfect! Thank you everyone!
Hi guys,
sorry for noobiness but i have tried my best searching the forum with no luck.
Basically i'm trying to make an edit to my registry using total commander but cant understand how to change the value.
All i've found in the forum is assistance on how to get to the desired key/sub key etc. I can get to the file fine, just not sure how/what alteration needs doing. Heres the edit i'm attempting:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila
HomeLSKPath = !"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
HomeLSKText = Contacts
Do i edit 'HomeLSKPath'? and if so to what? Actually it says "Function not supported" when i try that.
Thanks so much for any help you can give me!
you are trying to change value, but you dont what you are suposed to change it to?
Or did I misunderstand?
I think I uderstand that you dont know HOW to change it.. but do you know WHAT you are changing it to?
ok.. I didn;t know Total Commander had a reg editor.
I just played with it, and I highly recommend you get PHM reg editor. Google it. It's free.
If you insist on Total Commander, you should be able to tap and hold the item you want to modify and choose properties.
The current value will be shown.
Change it to what you want it to be.
Please be careful.. if you mess up a value you may need to Hard reset your phone.
You are trying to modify your left softkey in Manilla.. What you posted looks like it's either currently mapped to contacts, or you want to change it to be contacts...

I guess you're trying to edit it with the Notepad button. All you have to do is just double-tap the HomeLSKPath to edit its value
Hey thanks alot for the help guys!
And thanks x51, i downloaded PHM reg editor and its much better than total commander.
Ok so i think i'm pretty sure how to edit the file now, the question is to what?
the edit i'm trying is:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila
HomeLSKPath = !"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
so should i set the HomeLSKPath value (i think its empty at the moment) to this whole line? !"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
thanks again
